Chapter 16 [2/2]

"Oh honey lalala...hmmm..." Jeongyeon hummed, lifting both hands.

Tzuyu laughed lightly at Jengyeon's singing- or she was trying -beside her. They were enjoying band performance with other students and visitors at ground. She kept her gaze at Sana who held telecaster guitar. It really surprised her that the girl had band group. And now seeing Sana holding electric guitar and singing she was amazed. Next to Sana was Mark with bass. And the drummer was the senior boy she had mistaken cheating on Sana .

"Wooohh!" Jeongyeon screamed and jumped together with others, following beat of pop-rock music.

Tzuyu clapped her hands in amazement as Sana, Mark and another guitarist stood, playing together. Now the audience was screaming the president girl's name. Couldn't help it she joined in.

"SANA!"

The three finished their guitar performance and Sana approached mic stand, continuing to sing.

Tzuyu grinned when Sana gave a wink and smiled. She ignored Jeongyeon's nudge on her arm.

After their performance Sana left stage and walked hastily toward back of stage. She looked around over crowd. Bright smile bloomed on her face as she found the person. "Hey." She let out small laugh when Xiumin jumped in surprise.

"Sana, you startled me you know." Tzuyu rubbed her chest. The mentioned girl just grinned.

"Did I look great on stage?" Sana giggled when Xiumin put both thumbs up.

"Very, you're amazing. It never crossed in my head actually, that you play guitar, electric guitar," Tzuyu said. "It's cool."

"Well, I'm trying to impress someone," Sana said. She winked and giggled as Xiumin narrowed his eyes.

"So, you think I succeeded to make that person impressed?"

Tzuyu patted her chin, lifting an eyebrow. "I suppose yes."

"That's great to know," Sana said. "So, how about we look around? I see you're alone."

Tzuyu tilted head aside. "Well, they're busy," she said. Jeongyeon left to see orchestra, while Momo was with Mina.

"I thought to see around too."

"And you want me to come with you, that's why you're here, waiting for me, right?"

"No!" Tyu quickly replied, and blushed slightly as the girl narrowed her eyes. "I was, just thinking, here, where to start..."

"Fine, you're getting lost here," Sana said. She pressed lips together to hold a laugh at Xiumin's excuse, but the blush was clear on his cheeks. "We have time before opera, wanna play something?" Xiumin nodded and she took his hand, pulling him toward game stalls.

-

"Mina-ssi, please come in. Make a way please," a boy said.

Mina smiled a little as her junior pushed crowd aside making a way for them.

"No thank you, but no need," Momo said, catching Mina's arm to stop her. "Everyone is waiting here. So we have to wait too," she said to the boy. She was glad recently Mina didn't have her 'bodyguard' accompanying her anymore.

"I don't..." Mina was about to protest but her girlfriend in boy clothes stopped her.

"It's alright. Mina-ssi can wait," Momo added. She rubbed her upper arm after Mina gave her a pinch. "It hurts you know," she said to Mina.

"I hate waiting," Mina said. She gave annoyed look to Momo as the girl chuckled and then to other people. "What?"

"Mina," Momo said and took the girl's hand. She smiled apologetically toward others. "Really? We come here to play not picking a fight."

"But I don't like to wait," Mina pouted. She gave light slap on her laughing girlfriend's arm. "Haru," When she heard giggles from other students she turned around. But once again Momo stopped her from glaring. "I thought to have fun here," she said, folding arms in annoyance.

"Okay, I'm sorry," Momo said, trying to fight a laugh. "So, we quit?"

"No,"

"So, we play?"

"No." Mina moved gaze aside, avoiding Momo's eyes. She watched as many kids and students, not only from the Academy but also other schools, line up in front of cosplay stall. "I don't want to play anymore."

Momo scratched the nape of her neck, sighing. "So, what do you want?"

Mina pursed her lips. "I want that."

Momo followed Mina's finger and saw a penguin plush on prize table of a game stall. "Penguin?" She chuckled and turned to Mina.

"You like penguin's?"

"It's cute," Mina said and pulled Momo toward dart game stall. "I want that penguin."

Momo laughed louder at Mina's sudden excitement. She never thought that the number one student of St. Mary's Academy, the most feared student liked a penguin. They stood in front of the stall. She gave money to stall keeper and took darts from him. "So, how do I play? I want that penguin," she said to the stall keeper.

"It depends on how many you can pop. And for that penguin you need to pop all of balloons."

"Sounds easy," Momo said and lifted dart in hand to start but the boy stopped her.

"In thirty seconds. And this game is a battle, so you need opponent."

Momo knitted her brows. "Battle?" The boy nodded.

Another visitor approached the stall, a man and his little daughter. They gave money to the stall keeper.

"You got your opponent. Now, please stand here," the stall keeper said to Momo.

Momo moved to stand in front of a table. Mina stood beside her, wide grin on face. The other man stood on her other side. Next to him the little girl started to jump, encouraging her father.

"Ready? Go!"

Momo threw dart toward balloons pinned up on a wall. Her first shoot got on target and she threw another dart. The second also got hit but she missed the third.

"Come on Haru!" Mina started to cheer her girlfriend. She noticed the little girl's cheering voice and said louder.

"Haru! Haru!"

Momo threw her last dart. It flew and popped the last balloon just as the keeper blew whistle.

Mina threw herself on Momo, starting to jump. "You did it, you did it!"

"Of course I did," Momo said, wriggling brows in proud. She took her prize, the penguin, from stall keeper and turned to Mina. "Your penguin." She laughed as Mina flashed her gummy smile. The girl took the penguin and once again hugged her.

"Thank you Haru," Mina said after pulling back from hug. "Let's go. I want to try another game."

Momo was pleased to see Mina's happy look. She took Mina's extended hand and was about to walk when she heard the little girl's voice.

"I want a penguin, a penguin!" the girl cried.

"Sorry, but daddy can't get it. How about Barbie, you like Barbie too, right? Daddy will get it for you, okay?"

"But I want a peguin!" the little girl said.

Momo turned to her girlfriend. Mina tightened her grip on the toy, shaking head. "Mina," she said. Mina shook her head and pulled her to leave. She pulled the girl back.

"But this is my first present from you," Mina said. She looked down at the penguin plush in her arm. Momo squeezed her hand and gave a nod toward the girl. "But..." When Momo cocked her head, she sighed. Reluctantly she approached the girl. "This is for you."

Mina smiled a little as the girl lifted gaze and soon cheered up to see the toy. The little girl surprised her by hugging her leg.

"Thank you unnie!

Mina nodded, smiling wider. The girl released her and turned to her father with delighted grin on face.

The man gave small bow toward them before lifting the girl up.

Momo stood beside Mina, watching as the little girl holding penguin happily in arms. She reached for Mina's hand and held it.

"Unnie, huh?"

Mina shouldered Momo playfully, smiling a little.

"Come here."

Mina knitted her brows. Momo pulled her back toward dart game stall. The girl gave money and took darts from stall keeper.

"Let's play," Momo said. She pulled Mina with her. She handed some darts to Mina.

Mina looked down at darts in her hands. "I can't."

"Just throw it, like this," Momo said while teaching Mina how to throw dart. When the keeper blew whistle they started the game.

"Throw at the balloons," she said when Mina's dart ran over wall. Mina shouldered her before throwing another dart. She got almost of balloons while Mina only three. "I won."

Mina wrinkled her nose but then joined in Momo's laugh.

"Your prize," the stall keeper said, handing the prize..

Momo took the toy and turned to Mina. "Here, for you."

Mina looked down at stuffed blue dolphin. "For me?" Momo nodded. She took the toy, grinning happily. "It's cute, I like it."

"Great," Momo said. Mina hooked her arm through her and they left the stall. They wandered around, looking at game and food stalls. "What's funny?" she asked when Mina let out a giggle.

Mina shook her head, still smiling. "I never enjoyed festival before. Well, indeed I love to dance, but I never play games before." She turned to Momo and squeezed her hand. "Thanks, Haru."

At the hearty smile Momo couldn't help smiling back. "I don't really go to festival before, actually, but today I really have fun," she said. Mina giggled. "Wait, what time is it?" She glanced at her wristwatch. "We better get going now, the opera will soon start."

They left formal garden, heading toward School of Theatre building where the opera would be held. St. Mary's Academy was the only private academy that had theatre hall.

Inside auditorium there were many people. Momo glanced over, looking for her friends. Her eyes caught Tzuyu when the girl waved hand toward them. She pulled Mina toward front seat not far from stage. Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Mark and Sana were already on their seats.

Momo just smiled shyly when Sana noticed their joined hands. Mina took seat next to Sana and she took the one beside Mina.

"So, I see you have fun," Sana whispered Mina. The girl turned to her with wide grin.

"Got present from your boyfriend already?"

"Shut up." Mina nudged the president girl's arm on armrest lightly.

After waiting in excitement finally light turned off and stage curtain was pulled up. This was the first time Momo watched opera. The opera was about an uptown girl dreaming to become top actress. The storyline was like their story that Momo really enjoyed it. Not only the music and songs, the players' acting was great too. They really looked like professional actors. She laughed when the basketball team showed up. They dressed in punk style clothes with baggy pants and long jacket. She was amazed when they started to sing. The scene was about meeting of the uptown girl with the boys for the first time since she came into town.

It reminded Momo about her first meeting with the boys.

Mina let out a laugh, watching the performance. At moment she regretted that she never came to opera before. Every year Sana or Jimin asked her but she always rejected them. But again she didn't have the blonde boy- girl disguised as blonde boy -with her back then. She reached for Momo's hand and held it. She felt Momo's glance but kept gaze at stage.

Momo sighed as she couldn't hold nature call. She released Mina's hand. "I need to use the restroom. I'll be back soon," she said to Mina.

Inside restroom, after washing hands, Momo shoved handkerchief back to her pants pocket. She left restroom, walking toward auditorium. But after some steps she halted. Krystal was standing near another exit door. She took a deep before approaching the girl.

"Can I have a talk for moment?" Momo asked.

Krystal raised her gaze from her phone and knitted brows. She put the phone in her uniform jacket pocket and nodded, following Haru toward corner. Actually she knew what he wanted to talk. "If you think to threaten me or..." Haru suddenly turned around, bending his back. "What are you doing?"

"Please help us," Momo said. After a deep breath she raised head up. "I know what you think, but we have worked hard to come this far too. Singing is our dream." Krysatal remained silent and she continued. "I can't explain the reason but please give us a chance."

Krystal stared at Haru. She crossed her arms. "With deceiving people?" The blonde boy lowered his gaze. She then turned on her heel.

"Wait," Momo said to stop the president girl. "Mina has nothing to do with this." She took another breath, waiting but didn't get any reply. She watched as Krystal walked toward hall entrance. She bent knees, leaning against wall. 'What should I do? Looks like she won't help us' She was also worried about Mina.

"Haru, there you are. What are you doing there?"

Momo looked up and saw her girlfriend approaching her. She pushed body up, offering smile. "Just sleepy. Why are you here? You were going to use the restroom too?"

Mina shook her head and took Momo's arm. "You didn't come back and I got worried." She giggled when Momo raised eyebrows. "Anyway, you can't sleep here. We can leave now if you want to rest."

"No, I'm okay now. Let's get back inside."

"You can rest against my shoulder if you want," Mina said as they approached auditorium door. "Or my lap."

"No, that would be embarrassing," Momo said. She chuckled when Mina puffed cheeks out. "But leaning on your shoulder isn't bad idea."

Mina quickly pulled corner of lips up.

-

At the last day, Momo, Tzuyu, Jeongyeon and Nayeon stood between festival patrons at ground, waiting for the last performance. Sana and Mark walked into stage.

Mark lifted mic up. "Okay, that was really nice performance."

"Yes, it was amazing performance," Sana said. "Now, as much as I hate it, but, we have come to finale." She let out a chuckle as audience groaned in disappointment. "I know guys. I don't want this festival end too but yeah,"

"Same here," Mark added. "And for the last performance, I bet you guys can't wait anymore." He lifted mic up as the audience started to cheer. "Please welcome..."

"King and Queen of St. Mary's Academy!"

Momo covered ears with hands as everyone started to scream and squeal. She was glad it finally decreased as music played on.

Five girls dressed in white suit, a stick in hand walked into the stage. From the other side of stage five boys also dressed in suit came up. They stood in line, lowering their heads. And from behind them Mina and Jimin showed up. Everyone once again broke into cheers.

Mmo couldn't help clapping her hands.

Mina and Jimin started to dance. Back dancers followed behind them. Mina wore black suit, with bowler hat, hair tied up in a bun, a stick in hand. Jimin also wore matching clothes. As usual, the pair amazed audience with their dance.

"Looks like you can't beat him for this one, dance I mean," Jeongyeon said.

Momo just rolled her eyes before moving gaze back to stage. Although she didn't want to admit but Jeongyeo was right, they were a perfect pair. She watched as Mina and Jimin danced in sync. Jimin caught Mina's body, lifting it, and spinning around. Their dance was really great. Mina swung her stick before doing a jump like a ballerina.

Momo cheered the dancers together with the other as Jimin lifted Mina and they ended the performance. Her eyes never left her girlfriend. Mina was smiling widely, giving bow toward audience. She could see Mina's love to dance.

Sana and Mark came up to begin closing ceremony.

Momo noticed that Mina had left stage. She excused herself, ignoring knowing smile from Tzuyu and Jeongyeon, walking out from crowd.

Mina took her jacket suit off and put it together with hat and stick over table. She released her long hair, leaving the back of stage. Her lips curled up in bright smile as she found Momo stood outside, waiting for her. Apparently they were thinking same thing. She approached her.

"Hey,"

"Hi," Momo replied. She couldn't help trailing eyes up and down over Mina's stage costume.

"I never thought you'll look nice in suit."

"I believe you did." Mina winked.

"And, you're really great. That was amazing performance," Momo said.

Mina leaned in to give peck on Momo's lips. "Thanks." The boy-clad girl just shook her head. "Let's go. It will soon start," she said and pulled Momo to run.

Moment later they arrived at maidenhair tree, the place where they had kissed before under rain. And soon the last performance started.

Momo looked up at sparkling fireworks over night sky. "It's beautiful."

"Yes, it is," Mina replied. She kept their joined hands between them. Small smile bloomed on her face. It would be her most memorable festival. Her first and last.

After pulling her courage, Momo let the words out. "I love you."

Mina's heart skipped a beat, and it wasn't because of sound of fireworks. Slowly she turned her gaze. Momo had gaze up, small smile on her lips. When Momo turned to look at her smiling warmly, her heart fluttered. She released Momo's hand and took her cheek. She could see fireworks in those eyes. She trailed her thumb over the smooth cheek before leaning in.

Later, Mina stood in front of dining room, waiting for Momo. Momo went to use restroom. She pulled phone out.

"Mina,"

Mina raised gaze and knitted brows slightly in confusion seeing the person. But she then turned gaze back to her phone.

"Where is Haru? Inside?"

Mina stopped on tapping her phone, getting annoyed.

"What do you want?"

"I want you to break up with Haru."

Mina jerked head up, doubting her ear.

"What did you just say?"

"You hear it clearly," Kei said.

Mina clenched her fist. The girl raised hand to show a paper. Her eyes widened in surprise as she saw the picture.
