Preparation- 20

Bakugou pov
I entered the communal kitchen to see Deku, Uraraka and Iida talking happily; good, they came. I didn't like to admit it, but I needed their help. I had promised Eijirou a nice first date after all.

It was earlier at school and Eijirou just left, he was having extra study sessions with some teachers, so he told me to go and he'll text me later. I decided to take the opportunity to do something I had been dreading. Uraraka, Deku and Iida were collecting their bags, so I went over. I needed to hold back any name-calling or insults for the entire conversation. "Hey, dor- guys, I need to ask for a favour." I felt like such an idiot doing this, but I knew I needed to for the date. Obviously they were taken back, but of course Deku spoke first.
"Oh, hi Kacchan. Yeah, of course we can help you out." He looked nervously at his friends, who nodded slowly. "Can I ask what for?" This was the part I was worried about, how to tell them without them knowing it was a date.
"Okay, before I tell you, don't ask any questions that you think I won't answer, and don't even try and find out more than I say, okay?" I threatened. They all nodded again. "Good, well," I gulped, "I need help making picnic food, I was wondering if you'd come and help me in the kitchen at the dorms?" I waited for a response. I watched as Deku did a sigh of relief.
"Of course Kacchan! God you had me scared for a second, I thought you may have killed somebody." He let out a nervous laugh.
"So we're not allowed to ask who it's for or anything?" Asked Uraraka curiously.
"For god sake dork were you not listening to anything I said!" I snapped. I then knew I shouldn't of, I was asking for her help after all. "Sorry Uraraka. Umm, but no, please don't." The word 'please' was almost foreign to me. That's when Iida came in.
"So what time are we meeting?"

They all smiled at me after I said my 'hello' to all of them. "So who's ready to make the best picnic meal ever?" Yelled Iida enthusiastically. They all cheered. It really was nice how they respected my privacy on not asking anymore questions. I noticed on the kitchen side there were a couple bags of shopping, shit, they had bought food for this. I had one bag of shopping myself, I didn't think they'd help so much. I gestured to the food;
"You guys didn't need to do that."
"No, honestly it's fine, we're happy to." Smiled Uraraka. I did a small smile back.
"Well thanks." I could tell how my thanks made them happy. God, was Red already making me soft?
"So, we've decided Bakugou. I'll be the head of the kitchen. Uraraka will handle the soup and salad, Midoriya will be on sushi duty and you will prep snacks and such. I shall help out wherever needed." Said Iida very matter-of- factly. Almost in unison, Uraraka and Deku shot their fist up into the air and cheered. Why are they so dramatic?

It had been an hour or so, and I had finished the snacks. I then decided to help Uraraka by cutting the fruit, veg and meat. They all talked excitedly whilst I listened most. "Incredible sushi Midoriya!" Exclaimed Iida. He then went to taste Uraraka's soup. "Uhh, this soup is amazing Uraraka!" He yelled again. This caused Uraraka to smile gratefully.
"Thanks Iida, I need to make sure it's perfect though. This'll be the best date ever!" Uraraka yelped ecstatically. I guess it took us all roughly the same time to realise what she had just said. Uraraka realised herself, and quickly covered her mouth with her hands.
"Uraraka!" Winced Deku. I could feel my face go red hot.
"Excuse me?" I said it calmly, but I was raging inside.
"Oh nothing, silly me-" she said, trying to come up with an excuse.
"How the fuck do you know this is for a date!" I raised my voice and sat up from my stool I was on.
"Back off Bakugou, this is all a misunderstanding-" added in Iida.
"How do you know!" I yelled again.
"Okay okay," Uraraka said, raising her hands in surrender. "Look, we didn't actually know this was for a date okay. But once you asked us to help you for the picnic, of course this made us curious. So I was talking to Ashido earlier and she said that apparently you and Kirishima were talking about a date, so we just assumed that you were taking a girl out on a date but we're too shy to tell us." I let her words sink in. All of that did make sense, Ashido did hear us mention a date after all. But now they were thinking I was taking a girl out, which for some reason annoyed me just as much.
"See Bakugou, just a bit of silly gossip." Chided in Deku. I just looked at all of them, feeling slightly upset. Hearing how they thought I was dating a girl made me realise the seriousness of the situation. I was gay, I liked Eijirou; and no one knew. I didn't know how I was going to deal with all of these secrets.
"Oh, err, sorry for getting annoyed Uraraka." I muttered. She looked and gave a sympathetic smile.
"Hey, don't worry about it, it's fine." Then there was a long pause of silence, that was until Iida decided to break it;
"So, let's finish this, put it all in the basket, and make sure Bakugou has the best picnic any hero has ever seen!"
