Goodbye

Kirishima pov
The morning sun echoed into our apartment, shining through the curtains and tinting the room in a blazing gold. My eyes adjusted to the unfamiliar light and I slowly took in the warmth that curved into my naked body and wrapped around my legs. Carefully I sat up, mindful not to wake my fiancé. I looked down at my finger, seeing the engagement ring that practically sparkled in the rising sun. It had been five months since the proposal, since the 'will you marry me?'. The words still hummed inside me, causing a small smile to spread on my somnolent face as I took him in. Took Kat in. A gorgeous storm, that's what he was. Bed-head hair spilt over the upper-half of his face, so peaceful. Lips that I could still feel the rhythm to, the power they held over me, parted slightly and delicately. After years, I finally could explore his face once more, not the boy's face I had fallen in love with, but the man's. I looked down to his bare body that was perfect in every physical way, not even counting the fire and storm and beauty that lay beneath the skin. Another part of him I got to explore again, to learn all over again; the way he moved and touched and tasted. "Red?" I looked up and matched his crimson stare with mine, as well as the gentle grin he flashed up at me. Another thing I had missed, the way he spoke and said my name and how he looked at me and smiled at me and- everything, I had missed everything about him. I was a fool for ever letting him go.
"Morning handsome." Leaning down, I grazed my lips over his, causing him to purr beneath my mouth.
"What time is it?" He asked, his fingers dancing on my exposed back.
"Eight-ish." I sat back up and watched him do the same. For a moment, we just looked at each other, something we did most mornings. It was as if we were making sure it was all real, and not some beautifully tragic dream.
"Well today's the big day." Kat's words vibrated through me. "I hope you've got your speech ready." His grin was almost feline. Grabbing his forearm, I pulled him into me before he could get off the bed. I cloaked him in my body, sharing my warmth as I kissed him. He rested in my lap, linking his hands together behind my neck and leaned into the kiss even more. I had teased him endlessly about how I was now slightly taller, how Kat hated it, most of the time. He certainly seemed to enjoy it before he broke our lips and simply just smiled at me and asked; "Are you nervous?"
"Are you?" I countered with a grin. With him on top of me, it took everything to not throw him on the bed and enjoy the morning with him, however unfortunately we weren't gifted with the time. If Kat felt the same, he didn't show it. He threw me a rude gesture.
"That wasn't an answer, Red. And yes, of course I am."
"Same. But I can't wait until I can call you my husband-"
"Katsuki and Eijirou Bakugou." We had decided on his last name only recently, only for the reason that Eijirou Bakugou sounded better than Katsuki Kirishima. I smiled at my soon-to-be name before quickly kissing him once more.
"Anyways, I need a shower, oh and a coffee."

I ran my hands through his thick red hair, allowing the shower water to run through my fingers. I let my eyes take in his body before me, a monolith of a man. Throughout the past few months, we had found it slightly difficult to keep our hands off each other, making up for lost time it seemed. Though despite us both offering up a free invitation to each other, naked in the shower, we both declined. We had a lot to do, and even though my whole being screamed to just get lost in Red, I knew better of it. "So Mina should be meeting me at Graywaka Castle at nine, and you're heading to pick up the cake and all that other stuff with Uchida at 11 right?" Red didn't let a single thing get past him, he wanted to make sure this wedding was perfect. I nodded, covering myself with body wash, then helping Red as well. Whilst my hands wrapped around his muscled thigh, he said, almost to himself; "Guests are coming at twelve, ceremony starts at one, oh-" his eyes darted to me, as did his hands on my hips. "I know it's usually the groom to the bride, but I don't want us seeing each other in our suits until the actual wedding begins." Of course, Red has been trying to follow the classic wedding rituals. For our stag-do, I took one group of friends out and he took another, but unfortunately for Red, we ended up all heading to the same place. Hopefully this little plan of Red's would be better executed. I just smiled against his neck, sending butterfly kisses over his adam's apple then along his jaw.
"Whatever you say."

"How's Eijirou doing?" Uchida asked as he pulled up outside the bakery. Un-clicking my seatbelt, I smiled to myself, thinking back to Red, rushing around the penthouse in search for everything and anything he needed.
"He's excited. Stressed, but excited." At least he had Mina and my parents down at the castle, our venue, helping him out. His parents however could only do so much, despite Kaida's progress. She seemed better and healthier than ever, though Red and I both agreed it wouldn't be good for her to be running around the place stressing out. And Haru would be staying with her before taking her to the castle at two.
"Well I'll tell ya, Mina is loving all of it."
"She'll probably be asking for a ring soon." I joked. Uchida just chuckled.
"Yes, I bet you're right." We opened the door to the bakery to be greeted by a warm-faced old lady, her dark hair tied in a bun on her head. Smiling, she yelled into the back of the shop, no doubt to the employee with our cake. I reached for my wallet, pulling out the cash. A second later, a younger man emerged from the door behind the lady, holding the cake I had requested. It was classic, white and tiered. As it was placed on the counter, the two bakers beamed up at me; mother and son? I slid the money on the counter before she gratefully stored it in the cash register.
"Oh Mr Ground Zero, all our best wishes for yours and Red Riot's wedding." The woman was practically glowing. Yes, it seemed that our engagement and wedding had been all the news for the past few months, and the citizens of Japan ate up, even the Americans were tweeting about it. It was then her son's turn to speak.
"Sorry to waste your time, but you guys have really helped me accept who I am-" I nodded with a faint, understanding smile, ignoring my phone buzzing in my pocket. I knew I was brash and sometimes hot-headed, but I wasn't going to be rude to these sweet bakers. "-and I hope the wedding goes well!" It rang again.
"Thank you," I bowed, possibly too low. "And thank you for the cake-"
"Katsuki, we need to go." The urgency in Uchida's voice sent a coldness down my spine. He held a phone to his ear, his eyes wide.
"What happened?"

"On all days this had to happen, couldn't it have just waited one more day." We all stood in a line, staring directly at the castle, eyes glowing with amber. Kat's parents, Mina, Uchida, me and Kat just watched the flames from behind the boundaries the fire-fighters had set up.
"And how did this happen exactly?" Kat ran his fingers through his hair, his face a killer calm. It had remained in that state of neutrality ever since he came rushing up to me asking if I was okay.
"A gas leak or something." Mina responded as she swallowed back her fury. Panic was rushing through, a river of doubt and fear and stress. The fire would be contained, however it now meant we had no venue. Before I could spiral, I felt that reassuring, firm grip on my shoulder.
"Don't worry Red." I turned to Kat, his eyes burning just like the fire. He was thinking, working something out, I could see it. "I've got it covered, okay."
"Don't tell me you planned for this?" I failed to laugh at my own words.
"No, but," he looked towards Mina and his parents. "Can you guys get chairs and tables and picnic blankets and whatever other wedding shit down to Kekkon Park." That name sparked something inside me, a distant yet valuable memory-
"Wait-"
"A fine place for our first date, why not our wedding as well?"

That whole car journey to the castle, I had planned it out. We'd set up in the clearing behind the trees, there'd definitely be enough room for our guests, we weren't inviting too many anyways. Kekkon Park wasn't usually busy, and the trees would give us enough privacy from the outside world. I had already called and texted and emailed everyone on the list, telling them instead to head to the park. Uchida gave me the ingenious idea to ask them to bring fairy lights, bunting, anything to decorate the make-shift venue. A few even said they'd bring chairs if god-forbid we didn't have enough. What a stressful day. Since there was no kitchen for the caterers to use, it meant no food. However Haru and Kaido already had messaged me, saying they'd get whatever they could at the shops on the way there. All of this meant that I could confidently look my fiancé in the eye and tell him everything would be all right. "Everything will be all right, I promise."

Everything was hectic and chaotic and somehow working, all thanks to Kat. I decided to get changed on the way, putting on my black suit. I was riding in Mitsuki's car, whilst Kat was in Uchida's. He told me the plan before we left, his hand still interlocked with mine. 'When we arrive, you stay in the car. I'll go and help set up, then when it's ready, your dad will come for you and the ceremony will begin.' Every word had sent panic and calmness into me. How Kat set this all up so quickly, I had no idea. Sitting alone in the car, I couldn't help but wonder and consider my future with Kat. We were already living together in his apartment, and he had promised me after the honeymoon, he'd get us a dog. The honeymoon to Europe, something I had spent a whole month planning out, only for Kat to either argue or agree instantly with my ideas. My mind wondered to children, would we adopt? Or find a surrogate? Or not even have children? Our jobs were quite demanding after all.

A knock on the car window sent me out of the daydream, to see my dad smiling softly at me. I opened the door only to be greeted by a hug. "I'm so proud of you son." His hoarse voice comforted me, made me hold him even tighter.
"What did I do?" I laughed subtly into his shoulder. As he let go, his eyes met mine, his glossy and kind.
"Look at the life you built. Look what you did, even with so many obstacles." I swallowed at his words, holding back too much emotion. "You deserve this, you deserve everything that boy can give you. Be happy." I couldn't walk down the isle crying. It seemed my dad would though. Before more could be said, we began walking. "So have you got your vows prepared?" He asked, a sob waiting in the back of his throat. I nodded, trying not to say much, for both our sakes. The clearing finally opened up, and for a moment I forgot words. Trees hugged an open space filled with rows of mixed-matched chairs that was sliced in half by an imaginary isle; the only indication of it was the leaves that were swept to the side. Fairy lights danced above the guest's heads, a beautiful array of light and colour and serenity. The faces that turned to me; family and friends, my old classmates, teachers, everyone I deemed important in my life. And at the very front, tailored in a burgundy suit, stood love-made flesh. Stood my happiness. My all. Katsuki Bakugou. The grin that he sent my way nearly knocked me off my knees. Behind him, our officiant, Mina, just smiled; as if she knew that this moment was two years overdue. Music began playing, from a phone and speaker, and I lovingly made my way down the isle. Each step was a step closer to what I believed was my perfect, my infinite. He was the meaning of life, the answer to every question, the other half to me. I watched faces go by, Deku, Aizawa, Uchida, my mum, All Might, Uraraka, the list went on. I wanted to thank them all. My eyes once again caught Kat's, and we both silently asked, 'is this real?'. It was.
"You look amazing." Kat whispered to me as I reached him, our connection now fully ablaze as we stood across from each other.
"So do you."
"Thank you all for coming," Mina announced. She never ran through with me what she was going to say. "Obviously, this wasn't the wedding we were expecting, but," she paused and smiled at the two of us. "two years apart didn't stop these two, I don't think a lousy fire will either." I wanted to do everything. I couldn't explain it. I was high from love. "We don't need this marriage to signify the importance of the love these two share. We can all see that what these two have it's the ultimate prize, and god-forbid anyone who dares get in their way." A small chuckle from the viewers. "So, with that, the vows." My heart roared. My blood danced. I was to go first. I took Kat's hands, interlocking our fingers as I did our eyes. I breathed in, then out. In, then out.
"You are the one Kat. The one meaning. The one feeling. The one universe that I love. I believe in you, who you were, who you are, who you will be. I believe that our love will never die, only grow and change and become even more beautiful, become something that even the stars will remember." Kat squeezed my hand, strength and reassurance and thanks. I heard a sob and sniff from the audience. "You hold the might of a god in those veins, and you are incredible for it. There are no words to do justice on the way I care for you Kat. All I can say is that I promise to love you. I love you. I love you I love you I love you." Kat smiled, a smile stolen from heaven itself. I didn't dare look to the audience, to see what I had unleashed upon the guests. Though the almost-silent sobs signalled I wasn't the only emotional one.
"A-and you, Katsuki." Mina urged herself to say. Kat cleated his throat, his eyes shining like a wildfire.
"Red, I want to love you forever, but forever isn't long enough. I want to offer you everything, but you deserve more than everything. I want to give you the stars, but the stars don't shine brighter than you. Red. Red, you make me want to live, not survive, not exist, but live. You are my heart-song, the very rhythm that I move to. I promise," oh god, the tears; for both of us. "I promise to fall in love with you everyday. I promise to always be what you need me to be. And above all, I promise," he swallowed. "I promise that even when the memory of us has been washed away by the endless tide of life and death and rebirth, I will still love you. I will still love you. I will still love you. Forever. And even when forever finds its end, I will still love you." Everything was frozen in that moment. The whole ceremony froze at his words. The song of a god. Silently, I tattooed every line into my skin, to remember it always. I wanted to scream and cry and dance and laugh. I wanted to kiss him. We wasted no time as we put the rings on, only to her Mina declare with a shaky voice;
"May the groom kiss the- other groom!" I felt Kat smash his lips into mine, carrying with him all the unspoken words he couldn't get down on paper. I did the same. We pulled away and turned towards an emotional crowd. "I officially announce you, husband and husband!"

Bakugou pov
Speeches and dances later, I pulled Red into the bedroom, giggling like children. Eijirou Bakugou, "Eijirou Bakugou." I said the words, seeing how they felt on my lips. They felt perfect.
"Yes, husband?" Red laughed, falling down to the mattress below him. After the official ceremony, we all ate out on picnic blankets, occasionally dancing to the music and making speeches. It was all so great and all so tiring. I turned to Red, studying every muscle and layer of clothing as he rested on the bed and smiled at me.
"You're so beautiful." I hoped he knew I wasn't just speaking about him on the outside. Freely he reached out a hand, and I used that as a sign to crawl on top of him.
"I love you." He whispered before I plunged into the kiss, passionate and primal. Red released a growl that sent my whole body into a frenzy. His breathing staggered against my mouth as he reached to release me of my clothing. His hands found their mark, buttons and zips, he didn't even need to look. So I did the same. As I purred and praised his neck, his clothes quickly joined mine of the floor beside us. He was mine. And I was his. Suddenly and chaotically and fiercely, his flipped us so my bare back was against the bed. I took in the full sight of him, his body truly impressive. He was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Red kissed me again, slow and soft and using his tongue. My fingers traced along his back, feeling every muscle that lay beneath his stunning skin. His hand found me, and oh, made sure I felt good. He leaned further down, his teeth grazing my nipple, and I silently roared. I held his head as his tongue explored my body. And then, I felt the hardness of him push into me. Pulling his head down close to my lips, i nibbled on his earlobe, a new trick I found out about. He almost snarled in pleasure, gifting me with a thrust that set me on fire. Then another thrust, followed by more and more as I buckled my hips to grind against him. He barked, grinning against my jaw. Red knew he hit my spot as I moaned against his ear, whispering sweet nothings that made his hand wrap around my throat. I purred at the touch, arching myself into him more and more. As my lips brushed his chin, as he fell deeper in me, I moaned;
"Red- Red-" he just roared in delight as he released inside, as I released. My legs that were wrapped around him slowly relaxed, falling to either side of me. He remained inside for a time, gracing me with a kiss so soft and warm that I almost melted entirely.
"I love you, husband."
"I love you too, Eijirou Bakugou."
