TW: Fear of homophobia

"Ta da! All done!" Georgina grinned, clearly pleased with herself and the transformation she had given the sides. She took 4 small mirrors out of her make up case and handed each side a mirror. "So, what do you guys think?"

All of their faces had been absolutely caked in make up, to the point where they were barely recognisable anymore. That may have been what they wanted but they also wanted to blend in and their makeup made them stand out even more than before.

"What the heck did you do to my face? Now it's even uglier than before" Virgil growled.

"Now kiddo, what have we said about self deprication?" Patton asked in a stern tone.

"That if I say anything bad about myself you will 'physically fight me'" Virgil sighed as he rolled his eyes.

"That's right kiddo. So stop it please"

"Yes Patton" Virgil grumbled.

Smiling, Patton turned to face Logan, who was looking very concerned and confused as he looked into his mirror.

"Oh Logie, you look so cute!" Patton chirped as he kissed Logan on the cheek, causing a small blush to appear on Logan's cheeks  (although it was barely visible under the hundreds of layers of makeup) and causing Virgil and Roman to glare at the couple with jealousy burning in their eyes.

"Do you like it Logie?" Patton asked and Logan shrugged.

"I think it's a little too, what's the word?" He quickly pulled out a stash of vocabulary cards from his pocket and flicked through them until he found the right one. "'Extra' don't you think?"

"Well I love you no matter what you look like" Patton smiled, making Virgil feel as if a tiny knife had been stabbed into his heart. Still, he simply tried to ignore his heartache and keep up a strong, sarcastic façade.

"So, what do you think of my amazing makeup skills Roman?" Georgina asked, clearly fishing for compliments.

"I love it! I mean a prince has got to slay and with this makeup, this prince is definitely slaying" Roman exclaimed with his usual cocky smile.

"Guys, I think you're all missing the point here. We're supposed to be blending in with everyone else but this makeup is only making us stand out even more. We're bound to get caught looking like this" Virgil pointed out.

"Ah yes I have to agree with Virgil on this one. It would probably be best if we removed our makeup and just attempted to avoid the large crowd of people. That way, our chances of being recognised and getting caught are minimized" Logan suggested and everyone nodded in agreement; everyone except Georgina, who seemed clearly annoyed.

"Wait so are you saying I went through all that hard work for nothing?!?" She asked, her voice cracking slightly.

"Basically, yeah" Virgil replied bluntly.

"Ugh fine! I can tell where I'm not needed. Here" She threw them a packet of makeup wipes, which ended up hitting Virgil in the face.

"Ouch!" he yelled but she just ignored him.

"Now if you don't mind, I'm going to go and find some people who actually appreciate my talent. It won't be difficult seeing as practically everyone in the whole school loves me. Bye" She immediately stormed out of the room, leaving the sides to just stand there and exchange confused looks.

Meanwhile

Jessie had been searching for her friend when she finally reached the top of the school to see a figure in a light orange, flowy dress standing over the balcony, her curly, strawberry blonde hair glistening in the moon light.

"Maddie?" Jessie called out, making the girl turn around, revealing her hazel brown eyes and face littered in freckles.

"Jessie? Is that really you?" The girl asked.

"Yes. It's really me" Jessie smiled as a wider smile grew across the other girl's face. They both ran towards each other and Jessie picked the girl up, hugging her and littering her face with kisses.

"I've missed you so much Maddie. Not a moment goes by where I don't think about you. I love you so much!" Jessie exclaimed and almost immediately, Maddie's look of joy was replaced with a look of guilt, causing Jessie to gently place her on the floor.

"I'm sorry Jessie but I had no choice but to run. You know what people would think about us, two girls, being together. The whole of Imagination would be against us. I had to run away for both of our safety. Otherwise, the Dragon Witch would have found and killed us" Maddie explained.

"I don't care if anyone judged us or if the Dragon Witch caught us. I want to spend my whole life with you. I don't see what's so wrong about us being together anyway. I mean, Thomas is gay and we're parts of his imagination so why does everyone else in Imagination judge and ridicule us for loving each other?" Jessie asked.

"Because the Dragon Witch absolutely despises Thomas and his sides so anything even remotely related to them is strictly forbidden. I thought you knew that already.That's why we simply cannot be"

"But Maddie, don't you see? I don't care about some stupid rules. I want to be with you no matter the cost" Suddenly, Jessie's words began to change into song.

"You know I want you.
It's not a secret I try to hide.                  
I know you want me so don't keep saying our hands are tied.
You claim it's not in the cards, fate is pulling you miles away and out of reach from me.

As these words escaped Jessie's mouth, Maddie kept avoiding eye contact. She didn't believe that anything Jessie was saying could become reality. It was impossible. Maddie just had to tell Jessie that.

"You think it's easy?
You think I don't want to run to you?
But there are mountains and there are doors that we can't walk through.
I know you're wondering why necause we're able to be just you and me within these walls,
But when we go outside you're going to wake up and see that it was hopeless after all.
No one can rewrite the stars.

With every word she sung, Maddie felt her heart sink. She loved Jessie with every inch of her body but knew that they simply couldn't be together. Suddenly, Jessie held her hand, forcing her to look up at her. She then lifted Maddie up and spun her around in circles. A rush of joy filling her, Maddie stretched her arms out and a smile crept onto her face.

"All I want is to fly with you.
All I want is to fall with you.
So just give me all of you"

"It feels impossible" Maddie sung.

"It's not impossible" Jessie reassured her.

"Is it impossible?" Maddie asked, both herself and Jessie

"Say that it's possible.
How do we rewrite the stars?

Jessie gently placed Maddie back on the floor as a rush of realisation hit her and she was forced back into reality.

"You know I want you.
It's not a secret I try to hide.
But I can't have you.
We're bound to break and my hands are tied" She told Jessie with a sad expression, tears brimming her eyes. 

Jessie saw this and immediately pulled Maddie into a passionate kiss before whispering into her ear.

"I love you"

Hey guys. So I hope you enjoyed that chapter and the new OC Maddie. For those of you wondering, yes she is the friend/ lover Jessie kept referring to. I wear that she is the last OC I'm adding. I know that some people find OCs annoying as they sometimes distract from the main characters so I'm trying to use the OCs as little as possible. However, I really wanted to do a "Greatest Showman" song and I thought that this would be perfect so yeah. See y'all in the next chapter. Byeeee 💖
