Chapter 16- I loved you (Stutter- A Very Potter Sequel)

Hey guys. So once again, I want to apologise for what is going to happen in this chapter. If you don't hate me already, you will after this.

TW: Violence, blood, death

Meanwhile

Maddie and the other 4 sides were all sat outside Deceit's cottage, since it was too small for all of them to fit inside, discussing a plan to defeat the Dragon Witch, break the curse and save Jessie and Patton. Virgil tried to focus but his head was just filled with thoughts of Patton, worried about what would happen to him. Seeing his sad expression, Maddie wrapped her arm around his shoulder but he quickly removed it and buried his head in his hands.

"What's wrong Virge?" She asked.

"I'm just...worried about Patton. I kinda...sorta have a massive crush on him but just as I was about to tell him, he was taken" Virgil confessed.

"I know exactly how you feel"

"Really?" Virgil asked, looking up at Maddie.

"Yeah, well sorta. Ever since Jessie was taken, I've been just as worried as you. Worried that something has happened to her. Worried that she's in trouble. Worried that she might...you know...and doesn't realise how much I love her"

Virgil placed his hand on Maddie's shoulder reassuringly. "Don't worry. We'll get through this...together"

"Thanks Virge" She smiled softly.

"Of course! Any time"

Suddenly, everyone's attention was drawn towards a puff of black smoke appearing. The smoke soon disappeared to reveal a dark figure standing there with an evil grin on his face. Everyone was confused as to who this was, except Virgil. Virgil could recognise him from anywhere, no matter what he looked like.

"Patton?" Virgil asked shock.

"The one and only" Patton smirked, gesturing to his new dark self.

"What happened to you?" Virgil asked. "You're-"

"More confident?"

"I was gonna say...darker.You are not the Patton I know"

"I assure you I am. I am and always have been Patton"

"Hey! That's my line!" Deceit yelled. "You can't just steal my lines like that"

"What you gonna do about it? Cry?" Patton pouted, mocking.

"Okay that's it!" In anger, Deceit stood up and threw his hand at Patton, attempting to knock him backwards. However, Patton simply held his hand up and Deceit's spell backfired, knocking him backwards into his cottage.

"Anyone else wanna step forward and mess with me?" Patton threatened and everyone stumbled backwards. Virgil felt a few tears trickle down his face. Patton was finally here with them but he wasn't the same. He was different but not in a good way.

Slowly, Roman inched towards Virgil and whispered into his ear "Virgil, now's the time to confess your love to Patton"

"Now's not exactly the best time Princey" Virgil whispered back.

"No now's the perfect time"

"Have you lost your mind?"

"No. In loads of movies, stuff like this is usually reversed by a confession of love. You have to at least try it"

"Well, might as well give it a shot" Taking in a deep breath, Virgil stepped forwards and Patton sharply turned towards him.

"Ugh what do you want?" Patton spat out.

"Patton, I...um...I need to tell you something I've been meaning to tell you for a long time. I-I...I love you" Virgil confessed. There was a moment of complete silence before Patton started chuckling, making Virgil's expression drop.

"Do you really think I believe that? If you love me, why did you leave me yesterday? Right after we were dancing, you ran away as if you didn't want to talk to me. You didn't even stay by me when I needed you most. You know, I may have loved you-"

"You did?" Virgil looked up hopefully.

"But I know better now. You never loved me. You never even liked me. You all hated me. And now, I'll make you all pay" Patton started chuckling darkly before starting to sing, his voice deeper and darker than it used to be.

"Do you remember that time?
When you wouldn't talk to me?
No you wouldn't talk to me yesterday.
We were gettin' along!
We had a little dance-y thing!
Well here's a song I sing my way,
We were gonna be fine.
But you didn't wanna be, be the one who'd be with me, no way.
But now you sayin' it's time.
Why you gotta be like that?
I don't like the way you act around me.
So baby come on, come on..."

As he sung this, he beckoned Virgil towards him. Virgil slowly approached him but everyone else realised that it must have been a trap. Roman pushed Virgil out of the way as Patton hurled a ball of fire at him. Fortunately, Roman was able to dodge it but Patton continued to throw the balls as he continued singing.

"Oh don't you tell me to go, and say "I'm the one,"
D-d-do you think I'm dumb?
I'm sorry- did I just stutter?
Won't tell you what you know, but this is the end...
You were never my friend, you were never my, you were never my lover!"

Eventually, Roman became warned out and as he stopped to catch his breath, Patton threw one last fire ball at him, hurling him backwards and severely burning him. But this was just the beginning for Patton. As he continued to sing, he walked closer towards Virgil, his real target. Petrified, Virgil stumbled backwards.

"Remember that night?
When I saw you tremblin' there?
I remember; I don't care about you.
I'm remembering how you thought you were at the top, well I think we're better off without you!
And I got your number and I don't mean on my phone; but I'd already just thrown it out, if I'd known about the way you'd whine and moan,
You remember that way, how you were way outta line?
Well now you're way outta time!
So tell me what you want on your tombstone!
Come on, come on..."

Once again, Patton beckoned Virgil towards him. This time, everyone was too busy helping Roman to notice Virgil slowly approaching him. As soon as Virgil was close, Patton blasted him backwards and he hit Deceit's cottage. Continuing to sing, Patton kicked Virgil in the face, causing blood to trickle down his face from his nose.

"Well don't you tell me to go, say "I'm the one,"
D-d-d do you thing I'm dumb?
Sorry, did I just stutter?
Won't tell you what you know, but this is the end...
You were never my friend, you were never my, you were never my lover!
It's too bad you a loser.
Too bad you waste my time.
Good thing that I'm around to keep your but in line!
You were never my, you were never my lover!" Taking a few steps backwards, Patton created a knife in his hands and pointed towards Virgil grinning. Looking up and seeing the knife, Virgil closed his eyes and accepted his fate. At least he confessed his love before his death.

As Patton threw the knife towards Virgil, Virgil heard a yell that sounded like a female voice.

"Nooooo!" They yelled. Curiously, Virgil opened his eyes to see Maddie jumping in front of him. As the knife plunged into her chest, she fell to the floor.

"Noooooooo!" Virgil yelled, running over to her dying body.

"You haven't seen the last of me" Patton smirked before disappearing in a cloud of dark smoke.
