Chapter I - The Robot's Undoing

The world, as it seemed, lay in pieces. The Hermits had tried their hand at a democratic civilization. And, it had gone well enough, though some still lay awake, unsure if their choice was the right one. Indeed, Scar was a good candidate, Grian thought to himself as he tried to sleep. Perhaps a bit foolhardy, possibly being controlled by BdoubleO, but nevertheless a good candidate and therefore (in theory) a good leader. But lying to the Grumbot just...didn't feel right. He picked up his Communicator from his night-stand, glancing to see if Mumbo was awake. Glossing down the list, he noticed that Hypno and False were on, perhaps working on a build or something... Keralis was AFK, not unusual, but no Mumbo. Then, Grian saw something that he didn't believe. He did a double-take, not believing that he saw the name. But there it was... something that he never thought would happen. Not here, he thought to himself. Not now. But, there it was, written in yellow letters: NPC_GRIAN joined the game.

At the same time, on the other end of the world, Hypnotizd and FalseSymmetry were recoiling in shock at the sight of some inhuman... yet still human person. About a half-hour earlier, False, skeptical of the large concrete box that covered what was undoubtedly the remains of Grumbot, decided that it was time to see for herself why the retaining wall was needed and just what was so great about the "Grumbot." So, accidentally-on-purposely skipping over Grian's name, called the two other people awake at the moment, Keralis and Hypno, to the shopping district. Hypno, she knew, didn't trust any of the candidates, but especially Mumbo, and Scar, who had been taking orders from a mysterious source. Keralis, on the other hand, placed full trust in whichever candidate was advertising the most. So, when he arrived in the shopping district, he was sporting a Get Gorgeous T-shirt, A Mumbo brand moustache, a helmet, trousers and boots from False's own armoury-shop, and a gray cat on his shoulder; a convoluted mess of advertisements. Hypno, on the other hand, flew nervously into the shopping district, glancing over his shoulder every couple of seconds, and refusing to shake hands when Keralis extended his.

False spoke with Hypno and Keralis with great pride, going on about "Finally revealing the secret of Grumbot," and "Figuring out why he melted in the first place." Hypno seemed genuinely interested, feeling distrust towards the giant robot himself. Keralis on the other hand, laughed for some time, before making a euphemism and leaving. False and Hypno managed to break open a hole in the retaining wall, to find... A strange place. There was Grumbot, looking whole and cheerful to a fault. But the room... It was decorated like a jungle, grass coated the floor, a tree seemed to be growing out the wall, and, looking back, a miniature plastic shopping district stood right where they had entered. But the strangest part wasn't the grass or the tree or even Grumbot himself; it was the fact that the foliage and the decoration seemed to end behind Grumbot.

"D'you reckon we should... ask it something?" False asked. Hypno merely nodded in response. "Who are you, really... that should be good enough to start." She reached into her pocket, and pulled out a small blue diamond, and etched the question in with the tip of her sword. Opening up the compartment, she put the diamond in and hit the button. Almost immediately after, Grumbot's cheery expression faded, revealing an angered one.

"Oh, that's not good," Hypno muttered, but all that came out was a book. False picked it up, and read it aloud.

"'You are not dads. I am Grumbot. But I am much more.' Okay, this is a bit... eerie. 'Go behind me, open up my head, and I will show you.' I think we should try it, but... I don't know..." She stated. Hypno muttered something and began to climb up the side of the giant robot. False followed, nervous about what might happen.

False looked up at where Hypno was trying to climb up the side of Grumbot's face, but... Grian was somehow there. Standing next to her, was Grian, but somehow... not seeming right. Grian's face was stubbornly blank, eyes unfocused and not giving any emotion whatsoever. But this wasn't the weirdest thing. His arms and legs seemed to be moving in the fashion of running, yet he was standing unnaturally still. False's first impulse was to draw a sword, but shock got the better of her when Grian began to speak.

"Hello! My name is N-P-C Grian! I am here to help you with all your rustic building needs! Just let me know what size rustic house to make, and I'll be on the job!" False was stunned at such a bizarre statement, and only had the time to say "Um... What?" Before everything went dark.
