Snoring.

One major problem for a pony who can't sleep if they're thinking sleeping next to their partner is a good idea then they would be fooling themselves if they had a snoring problem.

And that's how it was for Tempest Shadow.

A quiet sigh escape her lips as she glance over at the clock on the side of her partners bed seeing it read 2:30am.

"My goodness, 2:30am! At this rate I'm never gonna get any sleep, ugh I should've listen to Shress yesterday afternoon and ask her to teach me that sleep spell. Then I wouldn't have to listen to my partners snoring. Just how on Equis does she snore really loud?"

Tempest try to move abit in bed but hooves wrap around her were holding the Unicorn in place. She look at her partner, a Unicorn holding her close while she slept. She didn't want to wake her up as Starlight head was all snuggle up close to Tempest neck.

She had to admit Starlight did look very cute sleeping but that snoring of hers is really keeping Tempest awake.

"I hope I'm able to fall asleep soon, there's still so much to do after returning from invading Equestria last week"

It's true, Starlight and herself had invaded Equestria last week with their forces from the Storm Empire catching it completely off guard during some kind of Festival. After invading and having their forces deployed at crucial cities and towns throughout the country they show no mercy in what was known as a 'Four Day Occupation' to the world, while her own forces invaded the capital, severely crippling it and the country itself.

There was abit of resistance but in the end they had completed their objectives and fully withdrew their forces from the country, leaving itself and its government severely cripple. A prime example to those who would dare go against the might of the Storm Empire.

"And my partner has the 'Staff of Sacanas' completely lock up and guarded 24/7 so nopony or any other creature can steal it from us, only Starlight and I have access to it...even Shress been asking to have access to it but Starlight already told her no"

More snoring is heard coming from Starlight as the Unicorn snuggles her face into Tempest neck.

"Fizzy, keep going please" Starlight mumble in her sleep.

"Guess, Starlight dreaming about me in her sleep" she thought smiling a little.

"More Fizzy, please" Starlight mumble in her sleep.

"Wonder what my partner is dreaming about?"

"Oh Fizzy" Starlight said in her sleep with a soft quiet moan.

That moan did give off an easy clue as Tempest was able to figure out what Starlight was dreaming about and lets out another sigh with a smile.

"Guess she's dreaming about me and her spending some quality alone time together. I just hope I'm able to fall asleep soon"

She lays her head back down on the pillow, stares up at the ceiling, closes her eyes and silently prays she'll get some sleep before morning comes.

A quiet groan escape Tempest lips as she open her eyes and starts to slowly sit up feeling completely tired, exhausted and drain of energy. Looking over at Starlight, she saw her partner laying on the other side of the bed no longer snoring and saw the clock reading 7:30am.

"Five bucking hours and not a wink of sleep, buck this. If it's morning already I'm gonna get up, take a shower and head to the kitchen for the morning before starting my day"

Getting out of bed Tempest quietly passes Starlight side of the bed not wanting to wake her, goes into the bathroom, leaving the door open just in case Starlight wakes up and looks at herself in the mirror.

Bags were under her eyes and they're abit red too.

"Buck, my partners snoring really kept me awake all night, I'm gonna talk to her about this if it happens again" the Storm commander thought to herself before turning around and heading into the shower to start her day "I just hope I don't fall asleep today during my duties" she thought turning the water to cold to help give her a fresh awakening, surely that would help her.

A small scream is heard from the bathroom.

"WHO BUCKING TAMPER WITH THE WATER SETTINGS? THERES NO WAY SHOWERS SHOULD BE THIS BUCKING ICE COLD"

That's one to wake up a pony.

"Goooooood Morning Commander Tempest another glorious day for the Storm Empire, I made you some breakfast" a cheerful spiky Hedgehog said too a grumpy looking unicorn pony.

"Morning to you too Grubber" Tempest sighs seeing a plate get set on the table, which had burnt Scramble eggs, a side of toast with butter, a glass of orange juice and a mango as a side dish.

"I must ask, what's with the mango?" Tempest ask Grubber.

"Thestral aka Batpony specialty, you know how all batponies love Mangos with their food"

"I know that part Grubber"

"Well, you should be glad you have one...Shress suggested you have one as it's very healthy to eat"

Another sigh escape Tempest as she hoof face herself.

"Of course my Albino Thestral friend would suggest that to me as it has healthy nutrients from what she said...I'm sure the moment she saw me eating one she'll run up to me and tackle me into a hug. Well better get eat it now before that happens"

Taking the mango in her hoof she saw Grubber looking at her with a shock expression but ignores him and chomps down on it despite the tired look in her eyes.

A few chews after follow by a swallow she took another bite. It did taste delicious, maybe she could order a large supply of Mangos for her morning breakfasts.

"Shress would be so happy if Starlight or myself did that"

Suddenly a door is heard opening follow by a gasp.

Looking over, Tempest and Grubber saw an Albino unicorn Thestral in the kitchen holding a newspaper in their magic.

"M-Mangos?"

'Aw crap, she's here''

The Albino Thestral unicorn hybrid gallop over to Tempest, dropping the newspaper and tackle her into a hug, knocking the two of them to the floor with the Batpony on top of Tempest.

"You finally ate a mango Tempest, I just knew you would" the Albino Batpony happily said.

Months of waiting finally paid off. She got to see her unicorn friend eat a mango and now she just has to know if Tempest like it.

"So, do you like it?" She ask hopefully.

"Yes Shress, it's a delicious" Tempest replied with a nod gently patting her Thestral friend head with a hoof.

It's indeed very delicious, guess she will be eating mangos from now on with her breakfasts. As she rubs Shress head gently with her hoof she notice a curious look in the Thestral eyes and watch her face lean closer to her.

"Um Shress, something wrong?" Tempest ask unsure why Shress is closer to her.

The Thestral tilts her head side to the side as if noticing something before speaking up.

"Did you get any sleep last night Tempest?" She simply ask.

That came out of left field all of a sudden but of course in truth she didn't get one ounce of Sleep last night due to her partners snoring.

"She just had to notice all of a sudden"

Letting out a sigh, she gently push her friend off of her and gets up looking at her.

"Not really" Tempest answer truthfully.

"How come?" Shress ask her curiously.

"It's just one of those nights when you got so much on your mind when being Co-ruler of a massive industrial Empire on an entire continent" Tempest lied as there's no way she's telling them about Starlight snoring is what kept her awake.

"Make sense to me" Grubber replied as he been listening to the whole conversation.

"Yooouuu ssssure?" Shress ask like she wasn't buying it.

"Yes Shress, I'm sure" Tempest replied.

Shress narrows her eyes, getting up too and leans her face closer to Tempests face.

Grubber just watches unsure what to say or if he should intervene to stop the Batpony from doing what he thinks she's gonna be doing.

"Is Shress really gonna do what I think she's gonna do?"

Tempest leans her head back while putting a hoof on Shress white fluffy coat chest. Reminding her friend about personal space.

Doing the same thing, Shress put a hoof on Tempest chest where there was some fabric to a jumpsuit she was wearing for ponies.

"Shress what are you doing?" Tempest ask leaning her head back noticing the Batpony leaning her head forward some more.

"Ah crap, is Shress...Is Shress going to kiss-!"

Her thoughts are interrupted as a door is heard opening to the room and all three of them look over to see Starlight, also wearing a pony version jumpsuit which cover up most of her body, enter with a curious look on her face.

"Am I interrupting something?" She ask watching Shress pull away from Tempest.

"Tempest is very tired" Shress replied bluntly pulling away as she goes around the commander and over to the fridge to get a Mango.

"She is huh," Starlight replied watching the unicorn Batpony go over to the fridge, open it up and get a mango from the bottom drawer where the fruit usually is "why is that Tempest?"

'Cause of your snoring Starlight'

Getting back into her chair, her horn began to glow pure white as her magic lifts up a fork to dig into the burnt Eggs and examines them.

"Same thing I told Shress, just one of those nights when you got so much on your mind when being Co-ruler of a massive industrial Empire on an entire continent" she told Starlight, taking a small bite out of the burnt eggs and winces begrudgingly at the burnt flavor in her mouth.

Oh how Horrible it taste, Grubber would really need to work on his cooking skills or else she will never ask him to make breakfast for her again.

"At least one of the Storm Clans chiefs make better food"

Starlight trots over to Tempest with a piece of Mango in her magic that Shress toss her, climbs into the seat next to hers, looks at her partner and takes a bite out of the fruit.

"So no sleep last night huh?"

"Yes"

"If your tired Tempest, you don't have to do your duties today"

"I can handle it Starlight"

"Are you sure Tempest"

She look over at Starlight seeing a concern look in her partners eyes before her partner is leaning her face closer to get a better look.

'If Starlight wants to kiss me, I'm alright with that...I do wonder if Shress was gonna kiss me though?"

Her eyes glance over to Shress whose eating a mango as well, giving one to Grubber and showing him an article in the newspaper.

"Brawl over discount Mangos?" Grubber ask Shress looking at her.

Shress nodding her head with a grin.

"Yup Yup, word got around that there was a huge supply of mangos at the store being sold for one bit per mango and well, Thestrals were pushing and shoving to get mangos before it ended in a total brawl" she proudly states.

"I take it, you were there?" Grubber ask looking at her.

She nods her head.

A hoof waves in front of Tempest eyes as she gives her attention back to Starlight seeing her partner face very close to hers and their noses press together.

"She's pretty amazing isn't she?"

Instead of answering Starlight question about the thestral she gives her partner a lick on the lips, sees her blush and watch her glance away.

"Not as amazing as you Starlight"

Seeing Starlight not having eye contact on her the commander leans over giving her a passionate kiss on the lips.

The kiss on the lips earn a quiet muffle gasp from Starlight and she try to pull away but white magic surrounds her keeping her in place. Tempest gives Starlight another passionate kiss on the lips.

"Tempest mmmph wait mmmm Grubber and Shress mmmm are in the room mmmph" Starlight quietly pleads not wanting rumors to start around the whole Empire about Tempest and hers relationship.

She pull away, grins, release Starlight, watch her get out of the chair, seeing her quickly trot over to the fridge, noticing a small blush on her partner cheek and even seeing those amazing flanks of Starlights jiggle with each step she took.

She love her partner so much.

It was nighttime throughout the Empire and Tempest was very tired after a long day today.

"So glad today is finally over, didn't think it would ever be over...hopefully now I can get some well deserved rest without my partner snoring loudly"

Here she was laying in bed waiting for her partner to finish cleaning up. Tempest would go over to her own personal quarters that she has but as of lately she has been finding herself sleeping with Starlight more. Her partner didn't mind it at all, it just proves their love was strong for each other.

She began to close her eyes, ready to drift off to sleep allowing herself to be taken to dreamland but the sounds of hooves are heard trotting over to the bed, the movement of somepony climbing into bed is felt and that somepony front hooves are felt wrapping her.

She even felt that pony head snuggle up along her neck.

"What a day it was today huh Fizzy?"

"Sure was, those Thestral hybrids sure don't back down in a training session"

"They are consider the best Soldiers in the military next to the Storm Guards"

Tempest nods her head and looks at Starlight whose looking at her. They stare at each for about a minute before Tempest attempts to look away but Starlight reach up with a hoof to stop her and leans up kissing her partner on the lips.

"Starlight mmmph we gotta mmmph get some sleep mmmph" Tempest protest in the kiss attempting to pull away but another hoof stops her and she watch Starlight climb on top of her.

"I'm not tired yet and I wanna have some fun right now," Starlight replies before kissing Tempest on the lips again who struggle abit but is pinned on the bed "your gonna mmmm listen to your Empress mmmph and that's mmmph an order mmmph"

"Never mmmph I'm tired mmmph" Tempest protest back in the kissing but decided she can have some fun for abit.

"Then mmmph you will be punish mmmmph"

Both mares struggle with each other in the kissing attempting to pin the other one on their back. The two of them roll around together getting tangle up in the blankets not backing down.

"Fizzy give mmmph me attention mmmmph"

"Glimmer mmmph I must sleep first mmmph"

"Not until mmmph you makeout with me mmmph for awhile mmmph" she happily chirp in the kiss.

Tempest groans and wraps her hooves around Starlight roughly making out with her in bed even as the two of them struggle together.

-Three hours later-

More snoring is heard coming from Starlight as Tempest is laying on her back staring up at the cieling with an annoy tired look on her face.

"Even after making out with her she's still snoring very loudly after falling asleep...screw it, tomorrow I'm gonna ask Shress to teach me that sleep spell, she's definitely gonna be overjoy to hear that"

Looking over at Starlight whose cuddle up very close to her, mouth wide open and snoring very loudly. Tempest sits up, grabs her pillow with a hoof and shove it into her partners mouth.

A coughing sound is suddenly heard as Tempest grabs Starlight pillow and pulls it to her side while the lights turn on in the bedroom via Starlight magic who sits up and pulls the pillow out of her mouth after seeing it there.

Realizing there's only one possibility she look at Tempest.

"Tempest, what the hay?" She ask with an angry expression.

"Pipe down and give me your pillow Starlight, I can't sleep with that loud snoring of yours" she replied laying back down on Starlight pillow she took.

"Snoring?!...Oh I see...is that why you didn't get any sleep last night?" She ask while her expression soften up realizing now why Tempest was tired earlier in the day.

"Yes, how are you able to snore that loud?"

"Well, i guess it just happens, back then when I was the leader of the village I control I convince all my followers that we were being attack by bears" Starlight replied with a sheepish smile.

Tempest does indeed remember her partner mentioning to her of being the leader of a small town back in their home country of Equestria.

'And they were all convinced that their village was being attack by bears because of her snoring, i do wonder though if they got any sleep those nights"

Seeing that Tempest had taken her pillow Starlight flips the other pillow over, lays back down on it, turns off the lights with her magic and looks at Tempest whose looking at her.

"Sorry for keeping you awake with my snoring Fizzy""

"Don't worry about it Starlight, tomorrow I'm gonna ask Shress to teach me that Sleep spell she learn recently which will help me get some sleep"

"You do know learning any type of Sleep spells can have certain side affects" Starlight reminds Tempest.

It was true, any type of sleep spell that a Unicorn uses will have unknown side affects and should only be use when absolutely necessary.

Tempest will make sure to remember that the next time she sees Shress.

"I know, but could you tone down your snoring otherwise i might need to go sleep back in my own quarters for awhile" Tempest said to Starlight who wraps her hooves around her pulling themselves closer to her.

"I'll try Fizzy and I'll be very lonely if you went back to sleep in your own room" Starlight said licking Tempest nose.

"Well if your snoring continues I might have too" she said to Starlight giving her a kiss on the lips.

Starlight returns the kiss pulling herself more closer to Tempest who returns the kiss wrapping her hooves around a her partner.

"Let me mmmm make it up to you mmmm tonight Fizzy mmmm"

"Mmmmm fair enough Glimmer mmmmph but mmm I'm on top okay mmmm"

"Deal mmmm"

Starlight pulls the blanket over the two of them, with her magic, as they went for another round of making out together.

"You want me to reach you that sleep spell?"

"Yes"

"And you want too use it just in case you really need to get some sleep?"

"Yes Yes"

"And you've come to ask me because you trust me?"

"Yes Shress that's why I came to you" Tempest huff abit annoy she had to say yes the last few times to Shress questions.

Shress squeals in delight, leaps at Tempest, tackling her to the floor with a big hug.

"I knew it, I just knew one day I would be able to teach the co-ruler of the Storm Empire a spell she has to learn" the Thestral Unicorn happily said nuzzling Tempest abit.

It was a good thing nopony was in the room as Starlight was cleaning up to get ready for the day and Grubber himself was somewhere taking care of something. So it was just the two of them alone together.

"Im so happy to be your teacher for this spell, I could kiss you right now" Shress said leaning her face closer to Tempest face.

A hoof is place on the Thestral face gently pushing her head back.

"Lets not go to far Shress, if you did that and Starlight came in seeing you kissing me I'm sure she'll want too know why you would do that?" Tempest replied abit surprise she would try to do that.

"Aw come on, just one kiss on the lips I won't tell anypony I swear" Shress pleads cutely.

Tempest eyes widen abit in surprise at Shress answer.

"W-wait?! Does she actually mean it, does she really wanna kiss me on the lips?"

"Plllllleeeaaasssse,?" Shress ask cutely with her ears fold on her head as she tried to look very cute "just one kiss, Starlight doesn't have to know"

"My answer still no Shress, I don't know what's going through your mind but I'm not gonna kiss you on the lips"

The batpony pouts before an idea pops in her head. Her horn began to glow a dark emerald green color as Tempest hoof is pull away by the thestral unicorn magic allowing it to be pin on the floor above the commander head. This allows Shress to get on top of Tempest and lay her body fully down onto Tempest body.

"Shress don't, I'm ordering you to get off of me" Tempest said aloud putting her other free hoof onto Shress face.

She causally moves Tempest other forehoof away from her face and pin it on the floor while smiling slyfully.

"Well, I apologize for the insubordination commander but the more I look at you the more I see how amazing you are"

Tempest attempt to struggle but the Batpony held her down. White sparks crackle for her horn in an attempt to lift Shress off of her but dark emerald green magic surrounds Tempest horn, blocking her from using her magic on the Thestral.

"W-what the?"

"If I recall Commander, your still in the beginning phases of learning to use actual basic magic besides the electrical pryotechnic spells you've learn when your horn was broken," Shress replied with a proud smile leaning her face close before their noses are touching together "so that means I'm stronger than you"

She could feel the Batpony warm breathing in her face as she was about to get ready to kiss Tempest on the lips, but before anything could happen the sound of a door opening up and Starlight voice was heard.

"Shress, just what on Equis are you doing on top of Tempest?"

The Batpony ear perk up at the sound of her boss voice and quickly got off of Tempest whirling around to face Empress Starlight Glimmer causally approach her with a vanilla envelope in her magic. She couldn't tell if Starlight had been watching and listening or just arrive but one thing she knew for sure Tempest would spill the beans on what just happen.

"Um just laying on top of Tempest" she answer half truthfully.

"I see, is this true Commander?"

Tempest look at Shress while getting up on all fours before looking back at her partner.

"No, it's not"

"Damn it"

"Shress here pin me on my back and attempt to kiss me on the lips" Tempest fully admitted while looking at Batpony whose looking away from the two knowing full well she's busted.

"It's over, it's all over, my position, my lifestyle everything I did and work for to get too my position here in the Storm Empire is over...oh well, maybe I can reapply for the Lunar Empire military on the Southern Continent, at least I got friends and some family down there" Shress thought letting out a quiet depressing sigh.

Starlight stare at her friend Shress for a good long minute deciding what to do. She knew how capable her Thestral friend was in the military amongst several other things but just hearing what Tempest just told her she would need to talk to the Batpony in private about this tiny little incident.

A small smile form on Starlight lips.

"Shress"

"Yes Empress" Shress said turning to face the Unicorn, awaiting her punishment.

"You and I will discuss this issue at a later date in private, just you and me"

The Albino thestral ears perk up upon hearing that before they fold back and Shress lets out a sigh nodding her head.

"Understood Empress" Shress said in defeat.

"Good, now I have something important to give to you and I suggest you look at it somewhere privately, it might peak your curiosity" Starlight said handing the vanilla envelope to Shress who takes it in her magic.

"Of course Empress Glimmer," the Albino thestral said "I will do that after I teach Tempest a Sleep spell she ask me to teach her"

"I will be the one to teach her the Sleep spell, can't risk you kissing her behind my back after what you attempt" Starlight reply with a smile.

Shress glared at Starlight for a moment before sighing in defeat nodding her before leaving the room with the vanilla envelope and closing the doors behind her with her magic.

Both Tempest and Starlight stare at the doors for a few moments before Tempest spoke up.

"Thanks for showing up in time Starlight, it...would've been very awkward had you caught Shress kissing me on the lips" Tempest reply with a sigh of relief as Starlight approach her.

"Indeed it would've been, but I am a tiny bit curious what it would've been like had I caught you two in the act in making out with each other," Starlight grin leaning closer to her partners face "just thinking about it now makes me want you two to kiss each other"

Tempest step back a couple paces as Starlight follows her.

"Partner, um y-your the only one I love and why are you getting closer too me? Shouldn't you be teaching me that sleep spell soon"

"Your right, I will right now...in your personal quarters" Starlight said reaching out with a hoof as she touch Tempest chest.

Her horn glows and she teleport the both of them away to Tempest own quarters for some lessons that Starlight was gonna give her.

Tempest groans as she's laying back in Starlight bed underneath the covers. She ache all over her back from the lessons she had received from her partner earlier in the day in her own personal quarters. She just didn't know Starlight would add extra lessons besides learn the Sleep spell.

'Why does she always have to do it so hard sometimes ugggh, I knew there would be a catch from learning that sleep spell...why did it have to be all day today though?" Tempest thought to herself while turning her head over to where Starlight was laying in bed looking at Tempest with a smile.

"Tired partner?" Starlight ask snuggling up close to the unicorn.

She nods her head and rolls onto her side and wraps her hooves around Starlight.

"Yes I am Starlight, thank you for teaching me that Sleep spell and for what kind of side effects it will cause"

"Of course Fizzy, now lets get some sleep for tomorrow's another busy day in the Storm Empire" Starlight replied letting out a yawn, snuggling her head underneath Tempest neck before drifting off to sleep.

Nodding her head, Tempest closes her eyes and begins to slowly drift off to sleep, hopefully now she'll get a good night sleep.

-Several hours later-

Tempest opens her eyes to the sound of Starlight snoring again and it really annoyed her. Sitting up, she looks at Starlight snoring away even noticing abit drool dripping from her mouth.

"How can she snore real loud like that?" She thought to her shaking her head.

Lucky for Tempest she was prepare this time. Her horn glow pure white as she cast the Sleep spell starlight taught her and waits for it to take effect.

A minute goes by and only Starlight snoring is heard

She waits another minute and only Starlight loud snoring is heard.

Five more minutes go by and Tempest is still sitting up getting really frustrate that the spell wasn't working.

"Lousy Spell, what kind Spell did I just-!"

Her eyes suddenly roll back, her body lean backwards in the bed and her right front hoof hang over the bed as she starts snoring away real loud.

The Sleep spell finally work and Tempest was able to get a good night sleep.

Hopefully she'll be well rested up in the morning to continue her duties in the Storm Empire.
