Chapter 2

That day Dean got home and realised something was off. He realised that his drunken dad was nowhere to be seen.

Dean checked everywhere, called everyone that he could, he just could not find his father. He knew Sam would be at Bobby's, so there was no reason for Dean to be at home. Dean decided to grab his duffel bag that he always kept packed under his bed and he would drive the Impala over to Bobby's.

On his way over he saw a boy walking by himself down the side of the road. Not on the sidewalk but on the side of the road. He was walking away from a housing unit so he obviously wasn't walking home. He seemed to be walking away from home.

Dean pulled over next to the boy and said "Hey are you okay?"

The boy turned his head and for the second time that day he saw those amazingly beautiful blue eyes only this time they were cloudy from the tears rolling down his adorably soft cheeks. The boy obviously recognised Dean and so he said, "I guess we're taking turns crying."

Dean reaches out the window to wipe the tears from Cas's face, "I don't want to see you cry. Now get in the car."

"Shouldn't I not get in the car with strangers?" Dean was realising that Cas was a little shit, but an amazing one like Sam.

"Am I a stranger?"

"No"

"Okay then get in the car."

Cas obliged and got in the old car. Dean had an idea of why Cas was walking down the side of the road but he had to make sure.

"Did your parents kick you out?" Cas only gave a small nod as another tear rolled down his face. "Do you have anywhere to go?" This time Cas slightly shook his head to say no. "Would you like to come with me to my uncle's house?" Cas turns to Dean, smiles, and nods. "Okay, then we're going straight to Bobby's."

Neither boy talked the rest of the ride. The music playing was the only sound in the almost silent car.

Once they arrived at Bobby's Cas had finally stopped crying. Dean gave Cas a hug as they walked up to Bobby's front door. Dean didn't even knock, just walked right in.

Cas could see a young looking boy on the couch. He had bruises on his face and a black eye. His long brown hair covered part of his face as he watched cartoons. Cas went ahead and sat on the couch next to him, he was going to let Dean do the explaining.

"Hey there, what's your name?" Cas found this little boy very easy to talk to.

"Sam." The boy- Sam- looked away from the TV to settle his gaze on the strange boy next to him on the couch. "What's your's?"

"Castiel, but you may call me Cas."

"That's a cool name. Are you Dean's friend?" Cas had never been asked that question, probably because they had just become "friends" today, as in they just started talking today.

"Yeah I guess you could say that. Are you Dean's little brother?"

"Yeah..."  from that moment on there was only silence as Cas heard Dean and another man talking in the other room. They weren't yelling so that was good. They just seemed to be talking. Then out of nowhere, both men made there way to the living room. Cas recognised the older man, it's Bobby Singer! Bobby worked at the automotive shop down the street from his house, it's where Cas goes to hide when his parents yell at him. Bobby sees Cas and his face lights up.

"Hey there Cassie."

"Hey Bobby"

"What happened this time?" Cas would explain the details later, for right now he would just tell them the aftermath.

"I got kicked out."

Soon enough Cas has a room and some nice clothes. Cas was going to be fine and that's all that mattered. Cas was texting Charlie when Sam walked in his door.

"Hey, I was wondering if you knew Gabriel Novak?"  Of course Cas knew Gabe. Gabe was his cousin.

"Yeah, why?"

"Just because." And with that Sam left the room. Cas knew what was going on, and so he just stared after Sam with a knowing smile. This was going to be fun.
