Chapter - 3 : Family Love
Vineet is shocked at his mother's raised temper. She isn't like this but whenever there was mention of India, she would get pained and angry. Vineet had been the prey of her anger too. But he couldn't contain his excitement to go to India. Now, that his girlfriend is from India, he can't wait to go to India. But his mother isn't ready. He is wondering the reasons when his phone beeped. It was a message from his girlfriend, Anamika. She informed him that she's leaving for airport and also instructed him to visit India, so that she can make him meet her parents. He replies back to her and moved to search on his mother.
He finds her in her bedroom. She is sitting on the bed. He sits beside her.
"I'm sorry, mom." he says softly.
She didn't reply. He looks at his Mother and found her eyes teary.
He knew that it was because of him. If he had not talked about India, his mother won't get angry and won't cry. He's closest to her and so he could hear her silent cries as well. He sits on his knees and looks at his mom.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know you will get this angry." He says.
Devika looks at her son.
"I told you already that we'll not go back to India. Even then you are demanding for the same." she says.
"That's a beautiful place. Even you and dad came from India. Why are you stopping me?" he asks, and he's a little irked.
Devika closes her eyes.
"I can't lose you,Son! It's as simple as that." she says in a teary voice.
He looks at her. Her face is pained and she is angry for some reason. He hugs her tightly.
"I'll not go anywhere." he assures his mother and took her to have some food.
India, Singhaniya Villa
The villa is chirpy enough. Everyone seem happy. Kamaldeep Singhaniya, the head of the family seemed happy. He calls for his son.
"Raj! Where are you? Don't you need to pick her?" he asks.
A man in his late forties came out from his room.
"Good morning Papa!" he greets the elderly man.
The elder man nods positively and looks at him.
"You aren't ready yet. Don't you need to go pick Anamika?" he asks.
The other guy smiles lightly seeing his father's eagerness.
"Papa, She will come on her own." A feminine voice reaches them.
A lady in her mid forties approaches them with a tray. She looks at her father..
"Naina, how can she?" he asks.
Naina, Rajveer's wife, looks at the elderly man..
"Papa, she called and said that she will reach home by herself. She didn't want to disturb you or Raj." Naina says.
Kamaldeep looks irked. Maybe he wanted to go and receive his granddaughter from the airport.
"You're so worried for her, papa. Not for me." Rajveer exclaims.
Kamaldeep laughs..
"She's dearer to me." he says teasingly.
"Yeah. But you can't forget me." he pouts like a kid.
"But he loves me more." a familiar feminine voice reaches them.
The girl hugs her grandfather from behind…
"I'm back!" she chuckles.
Kamaldeep pulls her in his embrace.
"Finally! Didn't you remember me?" he asks.
" I missed you everyday, Dadu." she says kiddishly.
She takes out a packet from her backpack and hands it to Kamaldeep.
The old man is touched with what he saw, and so are her parents.
To Be Continued.
