CHAPTER TWO, austin's & delaney's reunion
After Delaney got on a plane to the right place where her friends are at, she found out what rest stop they stopped at and decided to meet them there to surprise them. She was on the phone with Trish, pretending that she missed the plane when in reality she was walking around the corner to where Trish and Dez are standing.
"Surprise!" She exclaimed once she stood by them.
Tris and Dez turn to face her with shocked expressions and they both scream. "Delaney, what are you doing here?" Trish asks excitedly. "I thought we were picking you up from the airport."
"I know, but I wanted to surprise you guys." Delaney grins and pulls Trish in for a hug. After the hug with Trish, she walks over to Dez with a smile on her face. "Hi, Dez!" She opened her arms to hug him, but he pointed at her dramatically and she furrowed her eyebrows with confusion.
Dez breaths heavily, shaking his head. "Don't sneak up on people like that." He threw his arms up in frustration. "What were you thinking? You scared the heck out of me." Delaney looks at him with concern and he shrugs. "Anyway." He smiles widely at Delaney and pulls her in for a hug. "Delaney, I missed you!"
Delaney chuckles and hugs him back. "Yeah, I missed you too." When they pull away from the hug, she looks around for Austin. "Where's Austin?"
"He's still asleep." Trish replied.
Dez grins. "Let's go sneak up on him and scare the heck out of him."
Delaney pulls her suitcase with her as she and Trish follow Dez when he jogs over to the bus. They get on the bus and plan to scare Austin, but Austin was nowhere to be found on the bus. "If Austin isn't here, then where is he?" Trish inquired.
Delaney sighs, her shoulders dropping in defeat. "I wish I knew."
They all went back to the rest stop to try to find Austin. Trish asked around to see if anyone seen Austin while Delaney tried calling Austin, but she couldn't because she found out Austin left his phone on the bus. "I asked around and nobody's seen him." Trish frowns. "I looked everywhere. He's not here."
"Okay, that doesn't make sense." Delaney said with a look of confusion on her face. She points at Austin's phone she holds. "Why would he not bring his phone with him?"
"Found 'em." Dez spoke as he walked back over to his friends with a grin on his face.
Delaney and Trish look at him with hopeful expressions. "You found Austin?" Delaney asked.
Dez shrugs. "I have no idea where he is." He holds up the bag of chips he has. "I found Crunchkins!" He grins. "The crunchiest cheese puffs in the world. They sell them at the vending machine here." Delaney's heart sank and she frowned, letting out a sigh. This was going to be a lot harder than she thought.
Trish gasps, taking the bag from him and threw it on the ground. She then steps on them so hard that it opened the bag and some chips fell out. Trish looked at Dez with a fake smile and with a deadpanned expression on his face, Dez held up another bag of Crunchkins. Dez raises his eyebrows. "I got two bags."

With no sign of Austin, the group were starting to get worried. Thankfully Austin's phone rang, but Delaney was confused when she didn't recognize the number. She answers it anyway in hopes of it being Austin. "Austin?" Trish and Dez quickly went over to her and leaned in to listen to the conversation. Delaney tried listening to what Austin was saying but she was having trouble since Dez was eating chips so loudly.
Delaney lowers the phone, looking at Dez with annoyance. "Dez, just shut up, please." Dez looked at her just as he finished pouring some cheese puffs into his mouth. He looked at her with a sheepish expression as he ate the rest of the cheese puffs in mouth.
Delaney rolls her eyes and brings the phone back to her ear. "Okay, what were you saying, Austin?" She sighs heavily after hearing Austin asking her if Dez found Crunchkins. "Yeah, Dez, found Crunchkins. Where are you?"
"Yeah, so now we're in Idaho." Austin responds. "And they're gonna drop me off at the nearest airport. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long to catch the next flight. I can't wait to see you."
Delaney smiles. "I can't wait to see you too. This will be the first time we see each other in a few years." She sighs sadly. "I just wish it wasn't this difficult."
"Yeah," Austin frowns. "Me too. I miss you."
"I miss you too." Delaney tells him. "Okay, um, I'll see you in Washington."
"I'll be there." Austin assures her. "I just have to finish making fifteen friendship bracelets."

Delaney, Dez, and Trish are now at the Seattle, Washington airport, keeping an eye out for Austin. "Do you see him anywhere?" Delaney asks Trish, glancing around the airport. She frowns. "I don't." She really hoped Austin didn't go to the wrong Washington, but she had a feeling he did.
A worried look forms on Trish's face. "You don't think he missed his flight?"
"No, he wouldn't." Delaney shook her head.
"Found 'em." The two girls looked at Dez with smiles as he walked over to them.
"Where is he?" Trish questioned.
"Austin?" Dez raises his eyebrows. "Huh? Oh, not Austin. Flame Os." He grins. "The world's hottest cheese puffs. You can only get them in airports." He picks one out of the bag and eats it. "Mmm." He hummed and smiled. His eyes widened and he gasped. He screamed loudly and ran around, jumping over some seats in the process. He sat beside a woman who was about to eat a hotdog and stole her napkin to use it.
Trish and Delaney watched him with furrowed eyebrows and Delaney gets Austin's phone out of her purse when it rings. "Austin?" Dez stands up, panting loudly and repeating 'hot' over and over again. Delaney points at him and speaks in a firm tone. "Once again, shut up." He does but is whispering the word 'hot' repeatedly. Delaney rolls her eyes when Austin asks her if Dez found Flame Os. "Yeah, he found Flame Os. Austin, where are you?"
"I just got off the plane." Austin responds. "Where are you guys?"
Delaney glances at the arrival gate she, Dez, and Trish are standing nearby. "We're by the arrival gate."
"I don't see you." Austin's response made her think that he was by the arrival gate as well, but as she looked around for the familiar blonde she didn't spot him amongst the crowd.
Delaney frowns. "I don't see you either." Her eyes widen when her gaze lands on the sign on the wall saying 'Seattle, Washington'. She sighs heavily. "You're not in Seattle, Washington, are you?"
"No," Austin answers. "I'm in Washington D.C. Wait, there are two Washingtons?" He groans. "Why do they keep doing that?"
"It just seems like the universe is trying to keep us apart." Delaney sighs sadly. "We're three thousand miles apart again."
"I just want to see you." Austin spoke.
Delaney smiles, feeling butterflies swarm in her stomach. "I just want to see you too." She furrowed her eyebrows when the phone is taken from her and she turned to face Trish with confusion.
"You know who else wants to see you?" Trish asks Austin. An angry expression forms on her face. "Ten thousand fans who bought tickets for tonight's concert. You better be on the next flight. You're supposed to be on stage in eight hours." She gave Delaney the phone back after Austin ended the call and she told Delaney and Dez that Austin would be there in six hours.
"Don't worry, Delaney." Dez puts a hand on Delaney's shoulder and smiles at her. "He'll make it."
"Thanks, Dez. I hope so." Delaney smiled back at him and then looked at her shoulder, sighing heavily. She had on the blue denim jacket and now there was a red hand print on her right shoulder.
"Ooh..." Dez grimaces. "Sorry. I'll get that." He tried wiping away the red powder, but he just made it worse and so he just gave up.

The crowd was chanting Austin's name and the band was on stage. Delaney was beyond worried now because she had no clue where Austin was and Austin was supposed to be on stage twenty-minutes ago, but he still wasn't there.
"I'm getting really worried about Austin." Delaney admits, looking at Trish with a worried expression on her face. "I mean, what if something bad happens to him? He normally never misses a concert."
"I'm sure he'll show up." Trish tries to cheer her up. "Hopefully."
"I found 'em." Dez announces as he walks into the backstage area where Delaney and Trish are. He grins. "Little golden toes."
Delaney's face brightens upon hearing that as Trish rolls her eyes. "Nobody cares about your dumb snacks." Trish commented.
"No, he's talking about Austin!" Delaney grinned.
"She's right." Dez nods and he smiles. "I always call him little golden toes."
"Delaney!" Delaney felt her heartbeat increase upon hearing that voice of the person she has been dying to see in years.
"Austin!" Delaney smiled widely as the blonde-haired boy rushed to the door of the backstage area. Austin didn't hesitate to run over to her, wrapping his arms around her in a hug. Delaney hugged him back and giggled as he picked her up and spun her around. He set her down, keeping his hands on her waist and she had her hands on her shoulders.
Austin smiles softly at her. "You have no idea how much I missed you."
Delaney chuckles. "I think I have some idea." She smiles at him. "I'm just glad that I'll be able to join you guys for the rest of your tour."
"Me too." Austin agreed, pulling her in for another hug. Delaney smiled, wrapped her arms around and butterflies swarmed in her stomach when he rested his head on top of hers. Their sweet moment was ruined when Trish walked over to them and tapped Austin on the shoulder.
They pull away from each other, but she had one arm around his shoulder, and he had one arm around her waist since neither one wanted to let go yet. "I hate to break this up," Trish fakes a smile, pointing at the two teens. She then points at just Austin. "But little golden toes needs to get on stage."
"Hey," Austin points at her. "Only Dez and Delaney can call me that." Trish looked at him weirdly and walked over to Dez.
Austin glances at the dark-skinned girl beside him with a wide smile. "Just letting you know, I am so glad you're here."
A wide smile tugs on Delaney's lips and she nods. "Yeah, I know. I'm glad I'm here too." She takes her arm off Austin and steps away from him, mentally scolding herself for already missing his touch. "Now get on stage, golden toes." Austin smiled at her and nodded before he walked up the few steps to get on stage.
A/N sorry this chapter is a little short, but i think i made up for it for having the cute moment between austin & delaney :)
