CHAPTER FIVE, mix ups & mistletoes
(delaney's outfit for the first part of the chapter)
Christmas was just around the corner and Delaney was excited. Christmas was her favorite holiday of the year. She loved decorating, making Gingerbread Houses, drinking hot cocoa, getting presents, and watching Christmas movies with loved ones. The sad thing about living Miami meant that they didn't any snow which sucked, but she still manages to have a good Christmas without snow.
Delaney was currently in the store with her friends, helping putting up some of the Christmas decorations along with Austin. Dez walks over to the two with a wide smile, holding up something. "Guess what I have?"
The two best friends glance up at what he held, their eyes widening when they saw he held a mistletoe. Neither one noticed at the minute they were blushing. "Mistletoe?" Austin asked nervously.
Delaney grimaces, her face turning red. "Yeah." She clears her throat. "You can put that somewhere else, Dez." She and Austin quickly turned away from each other, busying themselves with the decorations.
They couldn't help but glance at each other though, their faces turning more red and they look away quickly after seeing they both looked at each other. Her heart was racing and she tried to calm her nerves, but couldn't. What was going on? She couldn't deny she had a crush on Austin, but was her feelings developing to love? Did she really love him? Her heart told her yes. Her mind said it was impossible. They were just best friends. There's no way he would ever feel the same about her. She needed to stop thinking like that and focus on putting the decorations up.
"Mistletoe?" Dez glances at the mistletoe he held with furrowed eyebrows and then looks at his best friends. "I meant I have sweaty armpits. I'm working way too hard." He sets down the mistletoe and gets out a juice box from his pocket. "Break time." Austin and Delaney chuckled at their friend and looked over at the back door when they saw Trish walk in.
"Trish!" Austin smiles., walking over to Trish along with Delaney. "How'd your meeting at the toy company go?"
"Amazing. I have the prototype for this holiday season's hottest new toy." Trish grins, grabbing something from the brown bag she held. She holds a box with an doll that looked exactly like Austin. "The Austin Moon doll."
Austin gasps excitedly, grabbing the box from Trish and gets the doll out. "This is cool."
"And check this out." Trish pressed the doll's stomach.
"I'm gonna make, make, make you do a double take. Bam!" The doll said and everyone looked at it with shock and excitement.
"Awesome." Austin laughs. His eyes widen and he glances at Trish hopefully. "Will they be ready by Christmas? I want to give them out at the kids club party."
"Yeah, these dolls are at the top of every kid's wish list." Ally explains from her place behind the counter. She picks up some letters from the kids. "Little Matthew wants an Austin doll. Little Hanna wants an Austin doll. Little Dez wants a-Little Dez?" She stopped in the middle of her sentence when she saw her friend's name and she glanced at the red-haired boy with confusion.
Finn, who was standing across from Ally, raises his eyebrows at Dez. "Dez, you want an Austin doll?"
Dez's eyes widen, quickly grabbing the letter from Ally. "I don't know how that got in there. It's supposed to go directly to Santa." He then walked around the counter, grabbing a pen to write the correct address as Austin sat on top of the counter.
"Don't worry, Austin. The toy company said they'll have a big shipment ready just in time for Christmas." Trish reassured Austin.
"Great." Ally smiles. "For a lot of these kids it's the only gift they're gonna get this year."
"Yeah. And since I'm hosting the party, I want to make this their best Christmas ever." Austin admitted.
"Austin and I planned on writing a new Christmas song and perform it as a surprise for the kids at the party." Delaney chimed in, sharing a smile with the blonde-haired boy.
Trish smiles at them. "Great, idea. And there's gonna be press at the party too. So it'll be a great opportunity to make yourself look good, Austin." She glances at Delaney with a smile. "You too, Delaney."
"I don't care about that." Austin shakes his head. "I just feel so lucky," He smiles. "I want to give back to people who aren't as lucky." Delaney smiled softly at him, thinking it was sweet he wanted to do that.
"Perfect." Trish smiles widely. "That's exactly the kind of junk you have to say to the press." Austin chuckled and shook his head as Delaney rolled her eyes at Trish's comment.
"I don't know how I'm gonna have enough time to write a new song and plan this party." Austin said worriedly.
"Well, since the party's at the Beach Club, let me plan it." Trish suggests since she worked at the Beach Club. "I'll make sure this is the best Christmas those kids have ever had." She excitedly got her phone out of her pocket.
"Wow, I've never seen you so excited about work before, Trish." Dez spoke.
"Hey, it's for the most worthy cause there is." Trish nodded.
"Making a child's Christmas wish come true." Ally smiled.
"Nope." Trish shakes her head. "Making me look good so I can get a big promotion." She gestures at Ally. "But that child's wish thing too."
Ally presses her lips into a firm line and nods. "That's the Christmas spirit."
****
The next night Austin and Delaney finished with the last of the decorations at the store. "Well, that's the last of the decorations." Austin said, setting down a fake Christmas present with the other ones by one of the Christmas trees.
"Good." Delaney sighs with relief while Austin stands in front of her. "I thought we'd never get done."She was tired and releived they finally finished with the decorations. She wanted to just go home and sleep. She didn't know how they managed to get it done, but she was glad they did. She smiles at Austin, feeling proud at the decorations they had put up together. "We make a pretty great team, huh?" She said, putting her hands on her hips. "It's probably because of our awesome friendship."
"Obviously." Austin replies in a duh tone, sharing a smile with Delaney. He then glances up, his eyes widening slightly and his face turning red after noticing a mistletoe hanging above him and Delaney. "Oh. Uhh..." He clears his throat, nervously looking at his best friend. "Look. Mistletoe." He chuckled and pointed above him.
"How do we keep getting under the mistletoe?" Delaney wondered out loud, her eyes widening while she tried to ignore the way her heart was racing. Her cheeks were starting to turn red. "First Dez had one and now this?" She chuckles nervously. "Why does it seem like fate is trying to tell us something?" She joked.
Austin chuckles lightly, shrugging. "Fate is crazy like that, huh?" He scratches the back of his neck, laughing awkwardly. "Uhh..." His voice trailed off as his blush grew.
As Austin and Delaney stood under the mistletoe, a moment of tension lingered between them. Delaney could feel her heart pounding in her chest, unsure of what to do next. Was this just a friendly tradition between them, or did it hold a deeper meaning?
"Well, it's tradition, right?" Delaney speaks up in a nervous tone, trying to lighten the mood. "We can't break tradition." She sent Austin a playful smile, trying to mask her own nervousness.
"Yeah, you're right." Austin nods, returning her smile with a slightly nervous one of his own. "Can't break tradition." He agreed.
The two best friends step closer to each other, their hearts pounding and their faces flushed. They glance at each other's lips before their eyes meet, both of them realizing how close they were.
"Are we really gonna-"
"I think we are."
The two teens both laughed nervously, unable to believe that they were about to kiss. They were standing so close, their faces inches apart. All they had to do was lean in, but they both hesitated, afraid of what would happen next. But finally they get the courage to lean in. But just before their lips could meet, Dez walked up to them, pushing some boxes, with Trish, Ally, and Finn following him. Austin and Delaney quickly step away from each other, looking away shyly as they blushed.
"They're here!" Trish exclaimed excitedly.
"Austin dolls, coming through." Dez announced.
"That's great they got here just in time for the party." Delaney smiled, trying to calm her rapid beating heart because of the fact she almost kissed her best friend.
Austin picks up one of the boxes, hoping this will distract him from the fact he almost kissed his best friend. His heartbeat was beating fast and he was sure he was blushing. He only hoped no one else noticed. He looked down at the box, opening it up and picking one of the dolls up. A look of confusion formed on his face when he saw how different the doll looked.
"Uh, why do these dolls have long hair?" Finn spoke up, glancing at the doll he held with furrowed eyebrows.
"This isn't right." Austin agreed.
"They all have long, flowing, princess hair." Ally says with surprise, taking a doll out of the box. She looks at the long hair dreamingly. "Long, flowing, gorgeous princess hair." Finn looked at her with an amused smile and chuckled.
"The toy company also makes Princess Priscilla dolls." Trish realizes, glancing at the doll she held. "There must have bene a mix-up at the factory."
"That explains the long hair." Delaney nods, looking at the doll she held. She tilts her head to the side. "The long blonde hair reminds me of Rapunzel."
"Same." Finn nodded in agreement.
"I can't give these freak show dolls to the kids. It'll ruin their Christmas." Austin frowned.
Dez pouts. "I have to write Santa a new letter. I am not replacing my Teddy Bear with one of these mutants."
****
"What'd the toy company say?" Austin asked Trish after she got done with the phone call.
"They're gonna fix the dolls and send out a new shipment." Trish responded.
Delaney shares a smile with Finn before looking at Trish wtih a smile. "That's great!"
Trish grimaces. "But because it's Christmas Eve, it's not gonna get here 'till after the holidays."
"Well, that sucks." Finn frowned.
"What are we gonna do?" Austin inquired.
"Relax, buddy. You don't want to give out these dolls 'cause they have long hair." Dez picks up a pair of scissors. "I think the solution's pretty obvious." He turned away from his friends and began cutting. When he turned back to face his friends, he showed them he made paper dolls.
"We'll give these to them instead." Dez smiled.
"Seriously?" Delaney raised her eyebrows at him.
"I can't give them an arts and crafts project for Christmas." Austin said. "The kids will think it's lame." Dez frowned, his shoulders dropping in defeat.
"I know how to fix this, Austin." Trish chimes in. "All we have to do is cut the dolls' hair."
****
A few minutes later and the six teens got done cutting the dolls hair. "Turns out pretty good." Delaney smiled at the doll she held. It looked much better without the long hair.
Finn nods in agreement, glancing at the doll he held that now had short hair since he cut it. "Yeah, it did."
Trish turns around, revealing her doll to everyone and somehow she got the doll to have curly black hair like hers. "Looks pretty good, huh?" She grinned.
"I think mine's better." Dez argued, turning around to show his friends his doll, who somehow had red hair like his.
"Let's see yours, Ally." Trish suggested.
"I couldn't bear cutting my doll's hair." Ally confesses, dreamingly glancing at the doll's hair as she pets it. "It's just so gorgeous." She waves the doll around making the hair move. "Ah." Delaney and Finn looked at her with amusement.
Austin points at his doll he had, the hair on his doll being cut the same way Delaney and Finn had cut the hair on their dolls. "This is how we have to cut all the dolls' hair, and we need to do it fast. The Christmas party's tomorrow."
Dez gasps. "I know exactly what to do." He smiles at Trish. "Trish, you're going to see why I'll make the best Santa." Delaney nodded in realization. That explained the Santa suit he wore. Finn already knew about the Santa auditions which is why he wasn't confused about the suit.
****
Dez came up with a Santa's workshop idea. Everyone had a specific job to do. "This Santa workshop was a great idea, Dez." Ally complimented.
"I'm almost out of gel." Austin announced.
"Oh, don't worry." Dez gasps excitedly. "One of Santa's helpers is here with more." A delivery guy, who was a dwarf, walked inside the room carrying a box.
He looks at Dez with annoyance. "For the last time, kid. I don't work at the North Pole. I'm just a delivery guy."
"Hey, you're not just a delivery guy. You're a guy who delivers dreams." Dez informed him.
The delivery guy named Larry rolls his eyes, shaking his head. "Whatever, kid."
****
"Whoo. We did it." Austin cheered. It took the group all night, but they managed to cut all the doll's hair the right way.
"I just wish it didn't take all night." Delaney yawned, leaning her head on Finn's shoulder. Finn laughed, playfully rolling his eyes and moved his shoulder to get her to lift her head. She playfully glared at her and lifted her head.
"Those needy kids are gonna get their Christmas wish." Austin smiled.
"Which is all that matters." Finn added.
"And that's more important to me than getting my promotion." Trish admits, earning surprised looks from her friends. She shakes her head. "Oh, who am I kidding? I'm just doing this for the money."
"Hey, guys. I just realized something." Ally said.
"That it's way too long past labor day to be wearing that white top?" Dez questioned, earning an offended look from Ally.
"No." Ally answers. She smiles widely. "It's Christmas morning."
Austin's eyes widen and he smiles. "Oh yeah." He smiles at his friends. "Merry Christmas, guys."
"Merry Christmas." Everyone spoke in unison as they all smiled and then Dez brought everyone in for a group hug.
"Okay, enough of this sentimental garbage." Trish breaks the silence, pulling away from the hug. "We've got presents to wrap."
Austin chuckles. "It's too bad Santa isn't here to help us." His friends chuckled and nodded in agreement.
"Oh, but he is." Dez speaks dramatically and everyone looks at him. He now had the Santa beard pulled up and he puts his hands on his hips. "Say hello to Santa." He then threw some fake snow and laughed like Santa would.
Finn furrows his eyebrows. "Where'd you get the fake snow?"
"At this point I learned not to question anything he does." Delaney responded to him and Finn nodded in agreement.
The door suddenly opens, revealing Chuck dressed as Santa. "Not so fast, Red."
Ally furrows her eyebrows. "How does he always show up the exact time Dez is about to win something?" Her friends shrugged in response.
"No idea." Finn shakes his head. "It's really weird."
"It's one of my many talents." Chuck explains, pulling down the beard. "I can also burp the alphabet, tie my shoes with one hand, and I do a pretty mean impression of my third grade English teacher, Mr. Nagel." Everyone looked at him with confusion as he did a impression.
"Uh, how do we know if that's a good impression?" Ally inquires. "We don't know that guy."
"Trust me." Chuck nods. "It's spot on.
"Before I decide who's gonna be Santa, I have one more contest." Trish speaks up. "Which one of you can wrap presents the fastest?"
"Oh," Dez pulls down his beard. "That would be me." He and Chuck then tried one uping each other by saying how fast they were before they were interrupted by Trish.
"Quit yapping and start wrapping."
"Yes, ma'am." Chuck immediately agreed and began to wrap. Chuck was pretty good with wrapping a present, but then the others were more impressed with the gift Dez wrapped. He somehow even had Christmas lights on his present he wrapped. The challenge then started. The other four teens held up the Santa bags, holding them up and trying to catch the presents that the two boys threw towards the bags.
In the end, it was hard to figure out who got done first, so Trish came up with the idea of whoever could carry the most gifts down to the Beach Club would win. Her friends knew that she was just taking advantage of Dez and Chuck, the two boys even figured that out as well, but they still went along with it and tried to beat each other to the Beach Club.
****
It turns out that the toy company had mixed up the dolls again, but this time it was worse. The toy company also makes 'mommy, change me' dolls and mixed it up with the Austin Moon doll. So now it sprayed water and had a baby bottle. So now, Ally, Delaney, Finn and Trish were rushing to the Beach Club to try to stop Austin from giving the gifts to the kids.
The four teens got to the Beach Club just as Austin told the kids to press the button. "Austin, no!" Ally shouted, but it was too late. The dolls were spraying water on all the kids as they pressed the button.
Austin's eyes widen with shock and then he grew confused. "That's not what they're supposed to do."
A little girl with glasses frowns at him. "This isn't a real Austin doll. You ruined Christmas."
Austin looked around with panic, not knowing what to do.
****
"I can't believe I ruined Christmas." Austin said to Delaney, his shoulders dropped in defeat and he had a frown on his face.
"Austin, don't be so hard on yourself. You didn't know that would happen so it's not your fault." Delaney reassuringly smiled at him.
"Trish, do something. The party's a disaster." Trish's boss said to her worriedly.
Trish walks over to where the kids were standing and smiles. "Look, kids. It's Santa." She pointed at Dez, who walked over to the kids and laughed like Santa would.
A little girl with glasses shakes her head. "He's not the real Santa."
"Well, how about this one?" Trish questioned, pointing at Chuck and Chuck ran over to stand in front of the kids, laughing like Santa would.
"He isn't either." The red-haired little girl said sadly.
Dez walks over to her and kneels in front of her. "I'm Santa, little girl. How else would I know that you wanted an Austin doll for Christmas?"
"Every kid in Miami wanted one." The little girl pointed out.
"She's good." Dez nodded.
"Neither one of you is Santa." The little girl frowned.
"I'm Santa." Dez stood, pressing a button on his suit that made it inflate. The kids looked at him wtih wide eyes and smiled.
"No, I'm Santa." Chuck argued, pressing a button on his suit and his suit inflated as well.
Dez glares at him. "No, I'm Santa." He ran at Chuck, bumping him with his inflated suit which sent Chuck stumbling backwards. Everyone across the Beach Club ran closer to the wall, away from where Chuck was stumbling. Delaney watched with wide eyes, moving backwards along wtih Austin as the blonde grabbed her arm out of instinct as they both moved backwards, him making sure he was behind her.
"No, I'm Santa." Chuck ran at Dez, bumping him and the red-haired boy stumbled backwards, causing everyone who was on the stage to run away.
"No, I'm Santa." Dez said and the two boys ran at each other. The two of them continued to argue and bump into each other. Everyone watched with surprise as they moved the fight onto the stage. Suddenly Dez was bumped into the tree and that fell over along with Dez. Everyone gasped, watching as the tree fell down along with every other decoration. Dez and Chuck were now on the floor, exhausted from the fight.
"First I ruin Christmas, now they're ruining the party." Austin worriedly spoke.
"On the bright side, no one's paying attention to the dolls anymore." Ally smiled, trying to cheer him up, but it didn't work.
"So...About that promotion?" Trish nervously asked her boss.
"I give promotions to party planners. Not party wreckers!" Her boss exclaimed.
"Wait wait, I can save this." Trish exhales nervously, running over to the stage. She glances at the kids with a smile. "Kids, go eat Christmas cookies." She looks at Austin and Delaney. "Austin and Delaney, get ready." She looks down at Dez and Chuck. "Dez and Chuck, clean this place up."
Dez looks at her with confusion. "Why do we have to clean this place up?"
Trish stares at him with an intimidating stare. "Do you want to see New Year's?"
"Yes, ma'am." Both of the boys immediately replied.

By the time everything was cleaned up and Austin and Delaney was ready it was night time. The two best friends wore matching outfits. Austin had on the outfit he had on earlier which was red and white themed. Delaney wore a white dress with a red leather jacket, black platform heels, black socks, and a Santa hat.
Trish stands on the stage again, smiling at the crowd. "And now to make your Christmas wishes come true, give it up for Austin and Delaney." She gestured to the two best friends sitting at the piano.
The crowd cheers loudly as the slow music starts playing. "What's your favorite time of year? Can you tell me?" Austin sang, glancing at Delaney with a smile.
Delaney smiles back at him. "The one that never gets here fast enough."
"Is it fall or spring? A summer thing?" Austin inquired.
"Winter is my favorite time because..." Delaney's voice trailed off while upbeat music began to play and Austin got up, jumping onto the stage.
"A billion lights are blinking," Delaney stands up, sharing a smile with Austin when he turned to face her. Meanwhile, dancers got on stage wearing elves costumes as other dancers were dressed as nutcrackers. "Jingle bells are ringing." He offers a hand out to her which she takes and he helps her up the steps onto the stage. "Everybody's singing 'I love Christmas'."
"Santa's almost flying." Austin and Delaney stand back to back, glancing over their shoulder at each other with smiles on their faces. "Lots of ribbon tying." Austin and Delaney then face the crowd. "Presents multiplying. I love Christmas!" The kids joins Austin and Delaney with shouting 'i love Christmas' every time they sang that. The two best friends slide to the right at the same time. "Oh-oh-woah." Then they both slide to the right. "Oh-oh-woah." They both face each other with grins, singing along with the kids shouting, "I love Christmas!"
As Austin stays on the stage along with some dancers, Delaney walks up the steps to go on the deck where some other dancers were at. She stays on the steps, smiling at Austin as he sings. "You'd better watch out for that mistletoe they're hanging." Austin runs up the stairs, standing in front of Delaney with a smile the same time two dancers by them held mistletoe above them. Delaney pretends to look shocked as she glances at the crowd while Austin smirks at the crowd. "Or you might have to pucker up and kiss someone." Austin leaned forward, puckering up his lips. Delaney ducked under him with a small giggle leaving her lips and got out of the way which made him fall onto the railing and frown at the crowd.
"Friends you know are gonna pray for snow." Delaney sings, standing by some dancers dressed as nutcrakers. Austin joins her side, the two of them harmonizing their voice for the next part as they smile at each other. "A winter wonderland's a lot more fun." They walk to the other side of the deck, walking towards the steps. Delaney stands at the bottom of the steps and Austin stops at the top, both of them posing. "A lot more fun."
Dez walks out of one of the huts, sliding on his knees playing a saxophone. Nearby, Ally, Finn, and Trish stood by each other, the four of them holding onto jingle bells as they smiled at Dez while he had his saxophone solo. Austin and Delaney walked down the steps, joining their friends. "I love Christmas!" The six teens line up and did the same dance move as the crowd clapped to the beat of the song. "I love Christmas!"
As Austin and Delaney sing, the six teens walk over onto the stage. "A billion lights are blinking. Jingle bells are ringing. Everybody singing, 'I love Christmas'!"
Austin and Dez stand back to back, Ally and Trish stood back to back as Delaney and Finn stood back to back as well. "Santa's almost flying." Then they all stood in different poses. "Lots of ribbon tying. Presents multiplying. I love Christmas!" Austin and Delaney, who stood by each other, slid to opposite sides of the stage. "Oh-oh-woah." Then they face each other with smiles. "Oh-oh-woah." For the last part they face the crowd. "Oh-oh-woah. I love Christmas!"
Everyone cheered and applauded loudly after the song ended.
****"
Austin and Delaney were now standing off to the side, talking with each other when the little girl with glasses and red hair ran up to them, smiling widely at Austin. "I take it back, Austin. You didn't ruin Christmas. This is the best Christmas ever." Austin smiled at her and hugged her.
"For me too." He agreed, chuckling softly as she ran off to her friends.
"Christmas isn't always about presents. It's also about the time you spend with the people you care about." Delaney smiled.
Austin nods, smiling at her. "I'm glad you think so. 'Cause I didn't get you anything."
The smile fell off of Delaney's face and she stares at him wtih disbelief. "Uh, what?"
He laughs and shows her what he had been hiding behind his back. "I'm kidding." He handed her a small box and she beamed at him, taking the box from him.
Meanwhile, Ally and Finn were talking about each other, handing each other the gifts they've gotten for each other. "Ally, I love it." Finn smiled softly at the brunette-haired girl and then excitedly glanced at the new lacrosse stick he held.
Ally smiles at him. "I knew you needed a new one 'cause you broke the last one you had so I figured I'd get you one."
"Yeah, apparently they break easily." Finn rolls his eyes and scoffs. Ally smiles sympathetically at him as he explains why the lacrosse stick broke. "I kinda got angry at myself for making a mistake at a game and broke it in half." He shakes his head, deciding to change the subject. "Anyway, these are kid of expensive so I'm surprised you got me one." Finn admits. "But thank you for getting it for me."
"You're welcome." Ally smiled softly at him.
"Oh, here's your gift." Finn held the lacrosse stick with one hand, getting out a small box out of his jacket pocket with his other hand and handed it to Ally.
Ally glances at him with surprise, an excited smile on her face. She opens the box, smiling softly upon seeing the beautiful silver bracelet that had music charms on it. "Finn, this is beautiful. Thank you."
Finn grins, happy that she liked the gift since he had been a nervous wreck about whether or not she'll like it. "You're welcome."
"You didn't have to get me anything, blondie." Delaney reassures the blonde-haired boy, opening the small box he handed her. She picks out the bracelet that was in the box, smiling softly. "Thank you, Austin, I love it."
"We'd always want matching bracelets we just never actually got them." Delaney remembered, smiling down at the purple and black bracelet she wore. Austin knew her favorite color was purple so he thought these bracelets were perfect. He had the one that was mainly black while Delaney had the one that was mainly purple.
"Exactly." Austin nods and smiles shyly, rubbing the back of his neck. "I thought now was the perfect time."
Delaney smiles softly at him, putting on the bracelet on her right wrist. "I got you something too." She handed him a wrapped present that she had set on the floor behind her.
Austin smiles excitedly at her and opens up the present. He gasps. "This is the new hoodie I've been wanting."
"Yeah, you've been talking about it for awhile and so I'd thought getting it would be a great way to make you stop talking about it." Delaney chuckled and Austin chuckled along wtih her.
"Thank you, Laney. I love it." Austin smiles softly at her. He then looks up, feeling blush creep up his neck upon seeing they were standing underneath mistletoe. "Looks like we're under the mistletoe again."
Delaney glances up, her heartbeat beginning to increase as she felt herself beginning to blush. "Yeah, looks like it." They both looked at each other with soft smiles, nothing but adoration and love in their eyes. Slowly, they started to lean in...Soon they were inches away from their lips touching, their heartbeats increasing by the second.
"Look out!" Dez shouted as he fell backwards.
Austin and Delaney quickly step out of the way, their eyes widening upon seeing Dez fall backwards, crashing into a hut behind them. The two best friends stared at each other with confusion, not knowing what just happened.
"You're right, Red." Chuck calls out to him. He laughs. "You are nicer!"
****
"I've got a delivery here for Austin Moon." Larry, the delivery guy announced.
"That's me." Austin responded, walking over to him and another delivery guy. He smiled at the other delivery guy who handed him a box. Dez and Finn walked over, helping with carrying the boxes.
Austin opens the box he had after he sets it down, his eyes widening and smiling when he saw the Austin Moon doll. "Hey," He picks one up. "It's the Austin Moon doll."
"Do they actually work?" Finn asked hopefully.
"I'll try it." Austin replied, getting the doll out of the box. He pressed the button.
"I'm gonna make, make, make you do a double take. Bam!"
Finn smiles. "They work!"
"This is great!" Delaney grins. "Now the kids can have the dolls."
"They're all fixed." Ally said with surprise and smiled.
"That's weird." Trish chimes in. "The toy company said that they wouldn't be ready until after Christmas."
Ally glances at the delivery guy with white hair and a white beard. "Hey, that guy looks a lot like Santa Claus."
Her friends look at the delivery guy, their eyes widening in shock. "You don't think-"
"That Larry really works for Santa?" Dez interrupts Austin. He grins. "I knew it!"
"For the last time, kid." Larry speaks up in an annoyed tone. "I don't work at the North Pole. I'm just a delivery guy."
"Awe." Dez whined and walked away.
Larry turns to face the other delivery guy, speaking quietly so only he could hear. "Let's get the sleigh and get out of here, Santa. We almost blew our cover." Santa nodded and the two of them walked away as the friend group started handing out the fixed dolls to all the kids.
A/N a lot of cute moments with both ships happened in this chapter, love that !
