I was walking with Mike to the bus stop after school. I wanted him to teach me Math because I definitely need to improve in math. I was very disappointed after getting my math grade and the whole class knew that he is very good at mathematics. I might, no,

I must need his help. But I find it uneasy to ask him, is it ego? Definitely. Anyway, there is no other go and I want my work to be done, that's it! And I started,

"Mike, can I...." I stammered.

He asked me all of a sudden, "Can you teach me English?"

I blinked; he too thought the same thing. I stood blank. We guys always think the same thing, and this is wierd!

"Really, you want me to tutor you?" I asked him.

"Well, my grade is too low in English, I may have some doubts in the homework, I want to improve, so that's the reason" he said.

So he too has the same reason.

"Even I need to learn Math, from you!" I slowly started.

"Oh I can help you, if you do the same in return" he said cunningly.

"Ok! I'll do" I agreed, this is insane, but what to do?

I reached home walking and around 7p.m. I planned to begin my homework.

I started with English. Just then I got a notification sound on my phone. I picked up to see what it was...

It was from Mr. Giraffe; Mike. (I saved his name like that :)

-Hey! I have doubt in today's grammar exercise.

Then I texted back

-I will call you, so that you can find it more clear, is that ok?

- No it's better you try with the video call

What!

I am not dressed properly. I looked at myself. One oversized hoodie and a short tunic. I just hurried and changed myself to pants and washed my face in the sink. Then I hurried back and replied.

-K, Make sure you have all your notes.

He saw my text and called me at once. I adjusted my hair a little before I attended the call. I swiped up to answer.

The video started. He was sitting infront of his study table. His room was a little messy and I could see his uniform still lying on his bed. He wore a black T- shirt and a grey shorts. His hair was messy, but looked good on him. He was looking really hot; that I almost forgot that I was staring at him.

"Hello, minion" he started.

I just grinned.

"Not bad, you look cute in your oversized hoodie" he said smiling.

"But you ain't", I lied and gave him a poker face.

"I never asked you anything girl!" he replied at once.

It's hard to win conversations with him. We made a deal.

"I'll teach you English now; then you have to continue with Math, ok?"

"Deal!"

he agreed without allowing me to talk anything further.

Then we began with the subject. He was listening with concentration but made some stupid jokes in the middle. But it was fun. Finally we completed somehow.

"Thank you for your help." He said interlocking the fingers in both his hands.

"I don't want your thanks, you agreed to teach me math, have you forgotten?" I questioned him.

"Sorry, it's already past 8p.m I need to have my dinner. I will help you with the first 3 sums. I think all the sums are in the same model. You can solve the rest." He replied plainly.

I got so angry. "You cheat! How can you do like this?" I shouted over the phone.

"Please understand, my father will screw me if I am late for dinner." he pleaded.

I was still angry. But I realized I din't have time now to fight with him.

He proceeded with 4 sums and ended the call. I was very disappointed. Why is he doing this to me? Then I thought there is no point in worrying and I tried to solve the other sums.

Next day I was really very angry I din't catch a place in the bus for him. But he somehow got place in the bus. He must be lucky that day.

He grinned at me, I just ignored. I continued walking fast to school after reaching the stop. I could hear him calling out my name, but I din't stop. I just ignored him completely. He too din't came further.

I hurried to the class and banged my bag THUD on the desk.

"You ok?"

Lia asked me taking out one of the earphone plug.

"I am good!" I just said giving her a cold stare.

"Okay then" she replied with a frightened look.

Then I could watch Mike walking to his place, he stared at me as he was reaching his place, I too was giving him a cold stare.

Lia was watching both of us in confusion.

"You both picked up a fight?" she asked.

"No" I replied.

"Is it ok if I can talk to him for you" she asked with a grin, I know what is the reason for her concern on me.

I just gave her a look, good enough to make all her teeth hide.

My mind was clouded with thoughts about Mike; I thought he won't betray me. I think he took advantage of me.

Later during English period, the teacher congratulated Mike, because he got all the answers right, because of me, he knows that, but acts as if he had strained all by himself.

But me, I got scolding from Mr. Kim for doing the sums wrong. I knew how much I pleaded to him yesterday.

Punishment for pleading?

Awesome!

So I was punished. I was totally in a mood out that day, I even skipped my lunch. I stayed alone in the class; lying on my desk crying, why did I believe him? How can he do this? He was not faithful.

I know it is a small matter, but I was hurt, really hurt.

Just then I could hear another person entering the class, I din't look up to see who it was, but I could see the shoes, stopping in my place.

The person bent down to see what I was doing, it was only then I realized that it was

Rachel.

Now I was sure it's gonna be worse.

"What's our Mina doing?"

I just turned to the other side, but she din't have the intension to leave me.

"Look here, Mina, oh sorry, our fierce Mina is in tears!"

I was getting frustrated. She was continuously annoying me. I couldn't resist!

"Enough of your shitty talks Rachel!" I shouted at her face.

"You know nothing but to simply shout!" she said teasingly.

"How dare you can become closer with Mike! How many days would I have cried seeing you both together!" she was yelling at me pushing me against the wall

"Stop your nonsense Rachel, I never thought him like that! Don't imagine too much" I defended back.

I was not in the mood to fight too, but that beast din't stop. I left the class, I don't know where to go, I headed where my feet lead.

I stopped until I saw the board, swimming pool. I love pools. Luckily it was opened but no one was there, there was still 30 minutes left for the break to end. I went near the pool and kept my legs in the water and was trying to calm down.

I was feeling better.

After sometime I thought to leave the pool, and put back my shoes on, but my shoe got slipped and I feel right into the pool. Now the point is that the pool was 7 feet deep, I liked pools but don't know swimming.

There was no one I could see in that moment for help. I know that I was drowning. I thought I' m gonna die

At just 17?

Then everything went blank.

Suddenly I saw a glance of something and instantly everything went blank again.

When I opened my eyes, I found myself in the nurse room. I could see the nurse, doctor, my teacher and Mike? He was completely drenched.

"What happened?" I asked them, who are all circling me as if I am the newly landed species.

"You would have died, if Mike would have not have saved you at the right time." The nurse said.

"He jumped into the pool to save you and gave you CPR at the right moment" The teacher said.

It was only then I remembered that the quick glance which I had was his face.

"He gave me CPR?" I asked them in shock well actually disgust.

"Well yes, I was held up with another patient" The nurse replied.

I cannot believe.

"Now you take some rest, your body is weak" The doctor said and everyone left.

Mike came into the room again saying, "I forgot to take the towel, to wipe my head."

"Wait!! Mike, did you really gave me....?"

"What's wrong with it to give CPR to a victim in an emergency!" he asked me.

"I din't mean to kiss you ok? And you're not worth for it!" he added.

"Wait, I din't say like that, you think I expected something like that from you? I need to wash my mouth now!" I said with folded arms.

"Ok then I' am leaving, you will never realize that helps are done only to help" he said.

"Wait, how did you know that I was there in the pool? Were you stalking?" I asked him, before he could leave the room.

"Stalking? You? I was there the whole time, our class teacher called me for arranging some stuffs.

"I thought I was the only one there." I said blankly.

"Anyway I know that it was all because of me, I know what you would think about me regarding yesterday" He said.

I was blank. Then he said, "I am sorry. I will help you with all the sums from tomorrow, I won't betray you." in a low tone, and left the room.

I was still for some time, I din't utter anything but simply saw him leaving the room; he is naughty and mischievous but not evil.

I looked myself on the mirror which was beside my bed,

My hair is still wet, my eyes are a bit swollen, I slowly touched my lips with my fingers.

In the next instant my mind got hit with the image of his face, that drenched hair with those grey shock covered eyes,I let out a gasp and my heart skipped beats. And my face started to turn red for no reason. But... why?

I was confused and kept thinking for the reason until it startled me,

OH MY GOD!!!

WAIT!!

Am I starting to like him??

No...no...no....no..!!!

Then what about Sid? I shook my head. No! that's not right, I think, I have gone crazy.

Who knows, even I would have died without his CPR maybe it's just a good impression on him and NOTHING ELSE!
