I don't know how the holidays ended so fast, that I could not believe my 20 days just flew like feathers.

It was the very first day after the holidays, I don't want school, but have to go. Getting up super early after 20 days, where I almost skip mornings in my sleep. Yeah it sucks!

I boarded the bus as usual, then it halted at Mike's stop. I found something strange in him, I don’t know what it was exactly, I was staring at him to find what was so different in him.

“What? Why do you look at me like that?” he asked.

“I find something different in you”

“Oh really, sharp eyes girl! I got a hair cut 10 days before, I thought the hair grew, didn’t it?”

“I duno!” I replied with a shrug.

Then on our way to school, we saw an old couple, probably the same couple which I met before, they came once again.
But the seats were fully loaded. I thought I could give mine, before I could say anything.

“Please take our seats grandpa and grandma” Mike offered politely. While dragging me out of my seat.

“God bless you both my children”

“You both look like us when we were in school”

“Old memories!” said the old man with a smile followed by a cough.

“Those silly fights, letters,….” The old woman was talking and talking.

I was getting embarrassed, because they were relating Mike and me with them.

I slightly rolled my eyes towards Mike to see how he was reacting to the old couple’s comments.

He was looking at them with a slight smile on his lips, he was admiring their conversations and I think I was admiring him.

“Mina did you see….”

He said and suddenly turned towards me, I quickly turned towards the other side, hoping that he should have not found me staring at him. What’s wrong with me!

“Mina, were you staring at me?” he asked me plainly.

“No, I din’t” I replied facing the other side.

“You’re lying, look at my face and then reply silly girl” he demanded again.

Done with him, I turned towards him but suddenly the driver applied the brake.

Well now due to inertia, I directly collapsed on him, but I think he was holding to a handbar, because, he remained still.
Fearing that I might fall, I hugged Mike tightly in fear. I was completely unaware of what I was doing.

Who gave this driver a license? Why sudden brakes all the time? Okay not always but mostly when this crack head  is beside me.

When the speed became normal, I could hear Mike saying,

“Will you please…” before he could finish I got away from him.

He was giving me a teasing smile.

“Just go away!” I said to him rudely, but okay, my heart is skipping beats.

Luckily the stop came I headed my way out, marching fast to school, without even turning back, I could very well hear him calling out my name.

“Mina just wait!” he was yelling.

“I was just teasing you, nothing else!” he said.

"I know you were teasing, I know it's nothing else!" I yelled back.

"Then why do you act so much" he yelled back laughing.

I din't reply anything, but continued to walk without turning back.

Is he right?

Then we reached school.

It was only then I remembered our answerer script distribution day, it was today!!

All my grades were not so bad; I used to get B+ and A in most of my subjects, and a A+ in English, I was really very happy for my English mark because I got the first mark in my class in English, But I saw Mrs. Kate talking with Mike after the English class.

Next comes our last paper, obviously Math! My nightmare!

Indeed the whole class was praying except Mike, beside me Lia was mumbling out her heart in fear. She was pretty sure that she won’t pass this paper, she was sitting with joined hands, she really makes me to freak out.

I was really not happy with my math grade, but the good news is that,

I passed.

When Lia receives her paper, I could see her face glow! She shouted in the top her voice, forgetting that she was in our classroom, everyone turned towards her, Mr. Kim was frowning at us, she gave a sheepish smile and remained silent.

“How much?” she asked me.

“C” I said. “You? How much you got? You look really happy” I asked back.

“I can’t believe, I passed this exam! I got a D!!” she said so happily.

I blinked at her!

“Now the topper of the class is Mike, he got an A+ in Mathematics.” Mr. Kim said.

It was only then I realized that it was only because of Mike I got this grade or I might have ended in getting a D! I really felt bad for copying from him; I actually don’t deserve this grade either!

I need to work hard, seriously!
Later that afternoon, it was Lia’s treat since she passed in Math!
