Next day I was walking with him from the bus stop to school, I was not sure whether to ask him or not, but anyway I started,

"Mike!"

"Hmm! What's up?" he asked while crackling his fingers.

"Uh..! Why did you drop me in my home instead of the stop?" I asked him in a confused tone.

"So you found out, isn't it?" he asked me smiling.

"Now tell me" I demanded.

"Well not only you if any other girl was in that situation, I would have surely done the same." He replied.

"Oh! I see" I said and smiled at him sheepishly.

"Don't have any thoughts that I did that because I am interested in you" he added.

"Look, I din't think in that way, and I never want it" I replied and headed fast to school, leaving him behind.

I could hear my heartbeat moving faster. I went to my locker; there I could see some of my class students whispering something among them while looking at me. I was not able to understand what was it, I just ignored it.

I reached my class, there something strange happened.

Most of the girls were looking at me awkwardly. I tried not to mind and went to my seat. There I was stopped by Rachel; she and her 2 friends.

"Girls look who is here!"

she started making sure her voice was audible to the entire class.

I was blank; I can't understand what was happening.

"Oh! Is she not the princess of the class, who is in love with our charming Mike"

Rachel's friends replied in a sarcastic tone.

"What! Love?"

I asked her in confusion.

"Now don't act drama queen!" Rachel yelled pointing her finger at me.

"Look, you must have misunderstood what happened in the detention class yesterday!" I started.

"It was an accident! Don't create any stories!" I warned her.

"So you're brave enough to raise your voice at me?" she asked me holding my collar.

"There is no mistake in my side, so I will!" I replied and pushed her hands away.

She got angry and raised her hand to slap me, but her hand was caught by someone at the back. She turned,

"Mike! When did you come?" she asked him covering herself in an innocent face and battering her eyelids.

"What's the matter?" he asked her.

"How can this stupid girl fall for you?" she asked him pointing her finger towards me.

"I din't! Don't utter nonsense Rachel" I yelled.

Mike looked at me, then she turned towards Rachel and asked,

"Do you have any proof apart from yesterday's event?

She stood blank and shook her head no with a plain look on her face, that pity and plain look on her face sucks!

"How can you carry stupid tales like this" he asked her raising his voice.

"It was actually you who flirted with me yesterday and not her!"

"It was you who said 'I love you' not her"

"And it was because of your selfishness, even a small accident makes your mind create trashes!"

"Is it right to spoil someone's name in the class?"

"Listen this carefully, I never liked you nor will like you"

he banged her with replies.

The whole class was in awkward silence.

Mike headed to his place. Rachel's eyes were filled with tears and she was not able to do anything other than to move to her seat.

It was that time I found some good character in Mike; this made me understand that he was also a good person by nature.

He is always a puzzle for me.

Later, during Recess I was looking for him to thank, but he was not found.

Then finally I found him near the locker during lunch. He was taking his next class notes. I stood still behind him waiting for him to turn. But that stupid din't; he was continuously digging something, so I called,

"Mike!"

He turned and saw me smiling and said with a smirk

"Try to smile often; you look cute when you do it!"

"Mike I wanted to say you something" I started.

"What?"

he asked.

"Thanks!"

I replied.

"For what?"

"For helping me to get over Rachel"

"Oh! There is nothing great here, I just said the truth" he said brushing his hair like an innocent boy.

I just shot back a smile.

"By the way I forgot to say you something", he stated

"What?" I asked.

"Please forgive me I spent some of your money in the canteen"

"You took my money?" I asked him in shock.

"Yes, let it be your pay back for me" he said with a grin and ran away.

"You cheat! You had it from me! I' am not going to trust you anymore" I was yelling in the corridor.

This guy is insane!

Later, that evening I was scolding him while walking to the bus stop.

"You thief, always stealing money!" I hissed at him.

"Is it wrong to take your friend's money?"

he asked me coolly sipping the smoothie from his hand which was bought from my money.

"Wait I never said we are friends!"

"Ok, not friends may be classmates, atleast now we are classmates from enemies aren't we?"
he questioned.

"Hmm" I nodded, but don't steal my money, please tell me before taking it, I find it crazy to search for the money which never exist!

He was just smiling. Then we boarded the bus and reached home.

Later when I was completing my homework in my room, I found someone coming on a video call, it was Daniel! He is keeping his promise. I swiped the phone to attend it.
