EVER SINCE NEW YORK, things had been...weird. Strange. And no, Erin wasn't talking about the sudden superhero boom, like someone hit the cosmic 'assemble' button. This was different. Personal. Something she could only describe as phasing▬because what else do you call it when your molecules ultimately decide they're too cool to stick together?

Sure, falling through her science desk might've been a one-time thing▬a fluke, a trick of the light. But slipping▬not crashing, slipping▬through a locked door and spending two excruciating hours stuck in the school janitor's closet? Yeah, that was definitely a pattern. Books, plates, lab equipment▬everything she touched ghosted through her like she wasn't even there.

So, her dad called it a 'sabbatical' and shipped them off to remote, countryside England until she could get her molecules to behave. New house, new number... new life.

Goodbye, family. Goodbye, friends. Goodbye, Peter Parker.

...Or, well, it would've been if Johnny Storm hadn't roped his sister and her boyfriend into decoding Erin's phasing powers on a DNA level two-years later▬on the condition that her dad move them back to NYC. A completely under-wraps, no-need-to-worry-about-government-experimentation operation.

     ▬▬ A /N : i can't write a good summary to save my life but istg the actual plot is interesting and well-thought out 😭

i've had this in the drafts since 2022-ish, and it's gone thru so many different renditions that▬at one point▬it was called 'if this was a movie' and had a completely different plot

     but long story short, i love all things x-men and all things spiderman, so the one thing that has been consistent throughout every rendition is the inclusion mutants in some way, shape or form. the fantastic four r simply another addition i decided to make along the way bc my brain was like 'omg imagine if disney owned the rights to all these characters from the get-go' and it pretty much just snowballed from there

important things to note:

01. i have no plans for this to continue past tom's first trilogy

     02. with mcavoy and fassbender in the cast list, i think it's important for me to clarify that i've tried my best to keep their origins as close to the source material as possible▬while obviously changing a few things around in order to make it work for a modern-day setting

     03. i also just wanna mention that i'm totally open to any advice regarding characterisation! while i am a fan, i fully accept that i'm not an expert and the last thing i wanna do is write someone ooc. so if any fellow spiderman fic writers have any advice for tackling peter or any other mcu characters, i'm all ears <3
