Training
"Thanks, Pakkun," I smiled, patting his head when I was finished. He sighed and leaned his head into my palm.
"No problem."
I left the bathroom and went back outside, where Kakashi was waiting on the bench, looking at a black butterfly that landed on his finger with a serene look to his uncovered eye. I just kind of stood there, scowling at him. I bet he's just like James. Wearing a disguise while inside he is a jerk, completely and utterly awful.
"Oh, there you are," he said, looking at me. "Is everything okay? You were in there for a while."
"Shouldn't we be training?" I asked coldly. He chuckled. "And what is so funny?" I snapped, crossing my arms.
"Oh nothing," he chuckled. "Lets get started. First, you need to understand chakra."
"It ain't gonna be this long speech, is it?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. "I don't do speeches. Can it stay short and sweet?"
"Sure," he said with one of his weird smile things. "To put it simply, chakra is the basic source of life. Everyone has it, some more than others. The ones will a lot of chakra are shinobi, people who have worked and trained hard to obtain it. Shinobi can use their chakra to do techniques, or jutsus. Using jutsus is otherwise called Ninjutsu. To use chakra in that manner, you must do a different set of handsigns for each jutsu. The handsigns are based on the zodiac, such as ram, boar, hare, et cetera. Understand so far?" He asked. I had my eyes closed in concentration.
"Yeah, continue," I said.
"Right, lets try to get you to use your chakra before anything else."
I opened my eyes and nodded with a straight face.
"Alright, what do I do?"
"Hm. First, close your eyes, even out your breathing, block out any distractions, but make it so you're able to hear my voice."
"Sure, no problem," I said sarcastically as I sat down crossing my legs and closing my eyes. I took a deep breath ing through my nose and let the air escape through my mouth as I blocked out all distraction, save for Kakashi's voice unfortunately. I heard his annoying chuckle.
"Very good. Can you hear me?" He asked.
"Unfortunately."
"Alright then. In your core, you should feel a kind of energy," he said. I focused more and sure enough, felt a small ball of energy in the put of my stomach. But as I visualized it, it seemed like little energy streams went from that ball to every limb in my body. "Can you see the chakra flow throughout your body?"
"Yeah," I mumbled.
"Good, focus on that, and let your mind go completely blank."
"How the hell can I focus and let my mind to blank?!" I yelled, opening my eyes to glare at him and effectively losing the image of my chakra.
"It might seem really confusing, so we'll try something else. This is the handsign of the tiger," he said, making a shape with his hands. "You try, and see what happens."

>Kakashi POV<
Cody was laying on her back and staring at the now starry sky as I sat on the bench, watching her discreetly. She was done with training, and had surprisingly learned everything without too much of a problem. So now we were both left to our thoughts.
I don't think she was thinking though. She seemed to be just staring at the stars, her mouth set in a soft line, her eyes fairly peaceful, her bandages once again a bloody mess.
My thoughts were focused on her. I have so many questions that she probably wouldn't answer. Why was she unconscious in the forest? Who hurt her? Why does she look so traumatized at times? Why does she just hate me? We've never met and she acts like I'm going to take a kunai to her back the second she turns around.
I decided to try and get to know her so hopefully things wouldn't be too awkward during her stay here.
"Do you like the night time?" I asked. She looked at me curiously for a moment before her eyes hardened and she looked away with a huff.
"Why do you care?" She demanded angrily. I sighed tiredly.
"Never mind, just thought I'd try to make peace since we're living together," I said.
"Well if you just ignore me and I ignore you I'm sure we'll get along just fine," She said, sitting up. She yawned, covering her mouth with her hand.
"Pakkun, could you show her to the guest room?" I asked the nindog beside me. He nodded and ran over to Cody, talking to her with knowing tenderness to his eyes. Could he know something?
She followed him inside and I sighed, running a hand through my hair as I looked up at the stars.
"What are you hiding from me Cody? What happened before I found you?"
>Cody POV<
I climbed into the soft bed and pulled the covers up to my chin after changing my bandages again. Pakkun jumped up and rolled up on my stomach. I smiled and put my hand on his head as his presence gave me a little comfort. Eventually my eyes fluttered shut and the darkness surrounded me.
*dream start*
I found myself in the apartment I use to share with James, but it was bigger and... warped.
"Cody~"
I whipped around to come face to face with James, but he was different. He had a black handle bar mustache, little triangle goatee, little horns popping from his forehead, and in the background a saw a thin pointed tail waving dangerously behind him.
"J-James?!" I yelled, taking a step back. He took a bigger step forward, grinning creepily. "Stay away!"
"But why would I stay away from what I own?" He asked slyly. I felt a stinging pain all over and looked down at myself. Slowly, painfully, various shapes and sizes of the word 'mine' was carving itself into various places on my flesh. The word seemed to echo everywhere, and appeared on the walls in eery black lettering. As I writhed in pain and screamed, James grabbed my chin and forced me to look into his demonic eyes.
"Now matter what you do Cody, you'll always be mine....."
