"Naruto! Sasuke! Get in here now!" I yelled as Inari, Sakura and I entered the house. Naruto and Sasuke, who both looked exhausted, stumbled into sight, as Kakashi, Tazuna, and Tsuname followed behind them curiously.
"What's wrong Cody?" Kakashi asked quickly. I grinned mischievously.
"To the sitting room!"
I ran into the sitting room dragging Kakashi behind me by his wrist. We had mere seconds before the other got there.
"I got the kids presents and they're going to be from the both of us," I said quickly. He didn't have time to hide his confusion before the others arrived.
"Okay, so Kakashi and I got all the kids something," I announced as the children sat down. Inari looked doubtful and I chuckled. "Yes Inari, we got you something too."
"We did?"
I elbowed Kakashi hard in the ribs and he coughed painfully.
"Oh, right, I remember now," he said quickly. I smirked as Tsuname giggled and Tazuna laughed quietly in the doorway.
"Okay, Inari first!" I said, digging around in the bag and pulling out the bear. I handed it to the small boy, who looked at it, his eyes filled with wonder.
"Th-Thank you!" He said, shocked. Suddenly he yawned and I smiled.
"No problem little buddy."
"Inari, you should probably go to bed," Tsuname said softly. Inari yawned and nodded before getting up. He walked out, but stopped in the doorway.
Suddenly, he whipped around and ran towards me, jumping at me and hugging my neck tightly.
"Thank you," he repeated. I smiled softly as Tsuname an Tazuna both beamed.
"Any time little guy, now get to bed."
He nodded and left, going upstairs.
"Now for you three," I said, looking at the others. They were all staring at me intently. "Now remember, these are from Kakashi as well," I said, pulling the small box out. I extracted the chains and the kids stared at the necklaces.
"Oh!" Sakura said in recognition. I nodded.
"Yes Sakura. Now you three, listen closely, because these are no ordinary pieces of jewelry. These necklaces hold extraordinary gems, which glow when the three wearers are in perfect sync. They must have perfect teamwork, and understand each other as well as they do themselves. Making the gems in these charms glow would mean that you three make up the ultimate team, understood?"
They all nodded, and even Sasuke seemed a bit amazed.
"Sakura, come here," I said, handing the two lightening bolt necklaces to Kakashi, who obediently held them with a small smile barely visible behind his mask. I put the necklace around Sakura's neck, doing the same with the boys, before sending them all up to bed.
"That was really nice of you," Said Tsuname, smiling. "Thank you."
"No problem," I replied. And she and Tazuna went to their own rooms.
"That was a nice thing you did," Kakashi said, standing as I stood. "But where did you get the money?"
"I traded a novel series I wrote a couple years back," I shrugged.
"You write novels? Who'd you sell the series to?"
"The manager of the pawn store in the village, why?"
"Curiosity," he shrugged. "Lets get to bed."
"Good idea," I yawned, stretching. "I'm beat. I never want to play teacher again."
"Cody, you're a sensei," he chuckled.
"Dammit...."
