Chapter 24

'Okay, breathe Jennifer. Just relax, you got this.' She thought, putting on a pair of dark green sect leader robes.

'There nothing to be afraid of, your only going to Qishan. Just think of it as a day trip. Yeah, I can do that.'
She had made it a habit of securing her hairpin in place every five seconds, just in case it slipped out.

After making sure it was secure, she went outside to fly to Qishan.

She had been vigorously training her disciples for the past few months and she had Qingshui protecting them as well.

But she made sure to add a few more talismans to the grounds, just in case.

"Sect Leader Qian, is it really necessary to have this many talismans in place?" Gao Liang and Gao Song asked.

"Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Besides, once you see the Qishan Wen Sect for yourself, I'm sure you two will be singing a very different tune." She said, finishing up the wards.

"We're ready to set off." YiZhang said preparing to mount his sword.

"Let's go, everyone."
TaiFeng said, following suit.

'Let's go and torment some Wen dogs.' She smirked.

After traveling for a few hours they all finnaly reached Qishan.

"Ugh, this climate is horrible. I can literally taste the dryness in the air." TaiFeng said, lifting her skirt up to ascend the stairs.

"Sect Leader Qian, what-" ChenHe said before being cut off.

"Ah, what did I tell you guys? When I'm here you should all address me as Young Lady Qian. Remember, I'm attending this dreadful indoctrination as a sect heir." She said reaching the top with them all.

"A'Hong!"

"Er-jie!"

"I have arrived!" She said, pulling Wuxian and Wanyin in for a hug.
"How are my favourite brothers in the whole wide world?"

"Stressed, tense, anxious. And did I mention stressed?" Jiang Cheng sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

Xichen and Wangji were also attending, standing on the sidelines like the prim and proper Lans that they were.

"You guys brought fake swords, right?"

"Everyone except Huaisang." Wuxian laughed.

"That kid really hates sabre practise, doesn't he." She laughed.

"So, on a scale of one to ten, how bad is this thing going to be?" Jiang Cheng whispered.

"If I'm being honest, I'm not too sure. Gusu didn't get destroyed, which means that I changed things for the better." She said, crossing her arms.

"But that also means that I don't know exactly what happens this time around. Some things could end up a lot differently than they did in the in my visions. I just hope the main jist of things remains. Otherwise my advantage will be gone."

"Let's just hope we can defeat Xuanwu Slaughter." Wuxian gulped.

"I told you all the details so I think we should be fine. And I brought some extra protection with me." She said, gripping her hairpin for the billionth time.

"WEN CHAO HAS ARRIVED!" One of the Wen disciples shouted, thrusting the three out of their conversation.

"Oh look, it's Chinese Draco Malfoy. Just what I need at eight in the morning." TaiFeng sarcastically muttered, taking her place in the front row.

Behind her were ChenHe, YiZhang, Gao Song and Gao Liang, with them were six other disciples that TaiFeng had trained herself. They were all exceptional cultivators and TaiFeng was confidant that they would be helpful should the need arise.

Wen Chao went over to the large throne and sat down unmannerly.

However TaiFeng's eyes were focused on the person to the far left of him.

If she wasn't constantly surveillancing her surroundings she might not have noticed the man hiding in the corner.

Wen Xu.

'He wasn't here in the drama... or was he?' Taifeng thought

'The camera angle probably wouldn't be able to get him in a shot from where he's standing.... Although he's probably here because I changed things, yet again.'

She was so engrossed in staring at Wen Xu that Wen Chao's speech flew right over her head.

It was only until Wen Chao announced that their swords would be confiscated that TaiFeng came back to earth.

"Sect Leader Qian." Wen Chao said through gritted teeth.

"The letter clearly said that all sects should send their heirs. Why are you here instead?"

Being higher ranking than Wen Chao had a lot of perks, mainly him having to talk to her as politely as he could.

"Unfortunately, I don't have any children, therefore my sect currently doesn't have an heir. So I had no choice but to attend myself." She said, in a monotone voice.

'I take I back. I'll take Draco Malfoy over this piece of crap any day.'

Before Wen Chao could even say anything TaiFeng lifted her head up and looked him directly in the eyes with a fierce look that said 'Question me and I'll rip you to shreds.'

Wen Chao simply scoffed at her, but deep down he was scared shitless.

'What's with her freaky eyes?!'

Not that she cared anyway, she knew what he was coming next anyway. She was too busy staring at Wen Xu with anger and a little bit of anxiousness.

Wen Xu noticed this but didn't pay her any attention, although he was rather interested as to why she was staring.

And an interested Wen Xu is never a good thing.

Evening time at the dorms.

"This is ridiculous!" Zixuan shouted.

"Do they really expect all of us to share one room?!"

The Qiansquad (which is what I've decided to call TaiFeng's friend group.) was currently inside a room with several disciples from multiple sects.

There were lots of beds lined up against each other with no room for any privacy.

"As girls, how are we going to get any sense of privacy." Mian Mian complained.

"Maybe we can find some sort of screen." Xichen suggested.

Since Qingheng-Jun had now officially taken over the Lan Sect, Xichen was now the first young master of the sect. Which is why he was also attending the indoctrination.

"I don't see any screens around here." Huaisang said, looking around the room.

"Maybe we can use the beds as a kind of divider." TaiFeng suggested.
"If we propped them up on their sides it would be enough."

Agreeing with this idea, Wangji and Xichen lifted the heavy beds with one arm like it was nothing, shocking everyone.

"Wow, Lan Zhan! You've got amazing arm strength." Wei Ying said, linking arms with him.

"Wah, Wei-xiong, all Lans have amazing arm strength. It's beacase of all those scriptures the have to write while doing handstands." Huaisang chuckled from behind his fan.

Seeing this TaiFeng stuck her leg underneath one of the beds and thrust it up on its side like it was as light as a feather.

All of them gasped as well, since you would expect that kind of power from such slender legs.

"Woah, TaiFeng I didn't know you could do that." Huaisang marvelled.

"I'd say your legs are just as strong as any Lans arms!"

"I've always had strong legs. I can even crush a watermelon with my thighs!" She said proudly.

"Guess all the running away from danger I did as a child helped."

'At least that isn't a lie.' She thought.

"You had to run away from danger?" Xichen quietly asked.

"The streets are a harsh place." She smiled, adjusting the beds.

"You either fight to survive or die a graveless death. I can't even count the amount of times I almost died at the hands of others!.... But hey, I'm still alive, so, that's cool."

Everyone in the room stiffened while Wei Ying looked down in understanding.

A few disciples were rather shocked, they all knew that Qian TaiFeng was adopted by the Jiang Sect Leader, but they didn't know about all the hardships she had faced. It made them all see her in a new light.

Xichen felt sad and angry at this. Sad that someone so kind had to run away from danger at such a young age, and angry at the fact that somebody dared to lay a finger on her.

"But enough of that, I'm positively determined to get at least three hours of sleep today and nothing can stop me!" She exclaimed going over to her bed.

Taking off her outer robes behind the screen, she heard MianMian gasp in shock.

"TaiFeng, you have a tattoo?!" She whisper shouted.

'Crap, I totally forgot about that!' She thought, scrambling to pull her robes back on.

"Sshh, please don't tell anyone." She whispered, clasping her hands.

"Why do you have a tattoo? Although it looks really cool and pretty." MianMian said.

"I, uh, got it as a kind of celebration of me becoming a sect leader." She lied.

" I was a little drunk at the time though. But it's too late to have regrets now anyway."

"Oh, I see. Did it hurt? I've
heard that tattoos are really painful." MianMian questioned.

"A little bit, but I got over it quickly."She said sitting down on bed.

As she did a small red Dragon talisman flew in though a crack in the window.

Listening to the message her eyes went wide for a fraction of a second before she reclaimed her usual calm demeanour.

"What was that about?"

"Oh, nothing much. Just everyone telling me how much they miss me. Honestly, those kids can't go one day without me." She chuckled.

Laying in the bed she had only one thing on her mind.

'Wen Rouhan. You dare to go up against me?'
