Chapter. 11
"So tell me about Wangji and Xichen, are they doing well?" He asked as he pushed a teacup towards her.
"Their both amazing people, and Wangji is currently head over heels in love with my adoptive brother, even though he's completely oblivious to the fact and Wangji's bad at showing it." She playfully rolled her eyes.
"That boy never was good at showing his emotions." He chuckled.
'I've got to try and get him out of seclusion.'
"Um, pardon my asking but....are you in seclusion? I've been at Cloud Resseses for a while now and I've never seen you."She said as she held her teacup.
"I went into seclusion after my wife died." He sighed, looking down at his cup.
'Here goes nothing!'
"When I lost my adopted mother it felt like all the colours in life faded into grey."
She said while Qingheng-jun gave her an apologetic look.
"I am truly alone in this world, I have no blood related family to depend on. But your different than me. You have two wonderful sons and a brother who cares for you. Even though he'll probably never admit it. It's a beautiful thing to have someone who cares for you. And if you don't let them know that, they might forget.
So pardon my transgressions, but Qingheng-jun," she got up to leave.
"But please leave seclusion and live your life. Because believe me, you have one that's definitely worth living. And if you won't leave for your family. Then leave for the sake of Gusu Lan."
"For the sake of Gusu Lan? How so?"
"War is coming. And if you aren't prepared for what happens next, Gusu Lan Sect will burn under the Wens." She said, warning evident in her tone.
"Wen Rouhan has a peace agreement with the Sects. Would he really start a war?"
"You've been in seclusion for a long time. I'm afraid the situation has changed gravely."
She then sat down, and told him everything that she knows. Wen Rouhans demonic cultivation, his plans to start a war, the Yin Iron and the Dafan Wens being hostages. She made sure to stress that point, as she wanted to save them at all costs.
"Well it looks like a have to come out of seclusion for everybody's sake. My brother can't do this alone."
Qingheng-jun said seriously.
"That's for sure. He's already had to deal with my brother, I think a full blown war will send him over the edge." She laughed while Qingheng-jun smiled.
"Well, then it looks like I'll be seeing you tomorrow, Young Lady Qian. But you should probably wait for a little longer, the disciples usually make their rounds right about now." He smiled.
"Then in that case." She said as she pulled out Xingguang from her qiankun pouch.
"Do you mind if I play a song to pass the time?"
"That's a fine zither you have there. Of course, in fact, I think I'll join you."
He said pulling a Xiao out from his robes.
"It's been far too long since I've played with someone else."
The sound of the zither and xiao was carried gently on the breeze, seranading all the students.
The next morning
TaiFeng walked into the classroom only to be swarmed by almost all her classmates.
"A'Hong! Do you know where that music was coming from last night?"Wuxian said along with a bunch of Jin and Nie disiples.
"What makes you all think that I know?" She said.
"I don't know, maybe because half the class thinks you can see into the future." Zixuan sarcastically replied.
"Have you heard what people are calling you. They've started addressing you as Yuzhao Long. Pretty fitting right."
Yuzhao Long means Premonition Dragon.
"Congratulations, not even my big brother has two titles." Huaisang laughed.
"Many thanks." She jokingly bowed.
"But to answer all your questions. Yes, I do know the people that were playing last night, mainly because one of them was me. As for the other person, well, you'll just have to wait and find out." She grinned as she sat down.
"Why do you have to be so vague?" They all whined.
"Patience is a virtue, and good things come to those who wait." She replied.
"I might as well call you Elder Qian instead." Wuxian joked. "Oh, by the way, A-Jie's making soup and wants you to come by later."
"Can the peacock come with me?"
She asked.
"Will you stop calling me that! If I'm a peacock, than your a tiger with your catty personality." Zixuan yelled.
"Do you want to come or not?" She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow.
"......yeah."
"There it's settled, he's coming.Wei Wuxian, Jiang Wanyin, don't you dare try and argue with me on this."
Wuxian and Cheng just crossed their arms and passively stared at Zixuan.
"By the way, where is Master Qiren? Class should have started by now." MianMian questioned.
"Ey, Lan Zhan, do you know where your uncle is?" Wuxian poked the boy.
'Great, we're at the physical touching phase. Sail, my glorious ship, sail!'
"Not sure."
He replied.
"Hey, isn't that him over there across the courtyard? But who's that he's talking with?" A disiple spoke up.
They all turned their heads around to peer out into the courtyard.
Wangji's eyes briefly went wide.
"And that's the second person I played with last night!" TaiFeng shouted.
"Who is he?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"My father."
Wangji replied in a slightly dazed tone.
"That's Qingheng-jun?!" The whole class roared.
Next thing you know the whole class was running across the courtyard to greet the legendary cultivator.
"Qingheng-jun. It's nice to see you again." TaiFeng bowed.
"Brother, you've met Yuzhao Long?" Qiren said turning towards his older brother.
"How is it everyone knows about my new name except me?"
She asked.
"Oh, the irony." Zixuan said. Everybody chuckled at this.
"Ah, it seems you also have a title, at such a young age that's quite an accomplishment." Qingheng-jun smiled.
"Thank you for your compliment." She bowed.
"Father." Wangji said.
"Wangji, it seems that I have much to talk about with you and Xichen."
"Mn."
'Still as stoic as ever.'
They were about to go and continue class until a pigeon flew into the courtyard... And landed on top of TaiFeng's head.
"Did that pigeon just land on her head?!" The entire class laughed.
Even Lan Qiren had a slight trace of a smile.
"Master Qian, do you remember me?"
The pigeon said.
"Oh! Your the pigeon from outside of the inn!" She said.
"Why is she talking to a bird?" Qingheng-jun said looking odly at her.
"She has the power to communicate with them, due to a spiritual tool named Tongqing." Jiang Cheng explained.
Qingheng-jun nodded in understanding.
'Even my prime I don't think I was this accomplished.' He thought.
"I found the man you were looking for in a place called YueYang Town."
The pigeon replied.
"Are you certain?" She said voice low and cautiously, earning everyone's attention.
"I'm sure of it, he has a prosthetic pinky finger and grey robes, and he's really creepy, just like you said. He's hiding in an abandoned house with a red tilled roof by the riverside." The pigeon said as it flew off.
"Qingheng-jun, I respectfully ask to leave Cloud Resseses. It's extremely urgent and time is of the essence. It's just for today though, I'll most likely be back before sunrise." She bowed.
"A'Hong, what did the pigeon say?" Wuxian nervously questioned while the whole class stared.
"I'm afraid I can't tell you just yet, but I'll definitely let you know soon."
She said apologetically.
"In that case take my jade token, the disiples at the get will let you pass if you show them this." Qingheng-jun passed her a white jade token with a blue tassel and a cloud motif carved into it.
"Also do you happen to know where YueYang Town is?"
"It's just a few miles east of here. It's by the river side so you can't miss it." Lan Qiren answered.
She bowed and then ran off at full speed, before stopping in her tracks.
Turning around, she shouted from across the courtyard.
"Wei Wuxian, swear on my mother's grave that you won't do anything reckless while I'm gone! If you do, Madam Qian will come back from the afterlife and beat the living shit out of you!" She said, pointing an accusing finger at him.
"Swearing is prohibited!" Lan Qiren shouted.
"Jiang Cheng, if he does anything stupid, break his legs on my behalf!" She said before running off.
"You can count on me!" Cheng replied.
"You two are bullying me to the extreme!" Wuxian pouted while the whole class laughed.
"Class is dismissed for today as I have many things to discuss with Qingheng-jun." Lan Qiren said dismissing the students.
"What do you think that was about?" Some of the Jin disiples talked among themselves in their dorm rooms
"I have no clue, but don't you think that her being a guest disciple of the Yunmeng Jiang Sect is kind of a power grab on Sect Leader Jiang's part?" Another disciple chimed in.
"What do you mean?" They questioned.
"Well think about it, she's an extremely powerful cultivator with two titles, she's able to talk to animals AND she can supposedly see into the future. And yet she's just a guest disciple? It makes no sense! Plus she always wears a sedge hat whenever she's in public. It's pretty suspicious if you ask me."
"She'd be a lot better off in the Jin Sect! At least Sect Leader Jin would appreciate her talent and make her an actual disiple, instead of just a guest disciple." Another added.
They all nodded at this statement.
"I'll definitely write back to Koi Tower about this."
