*Yuuki's PoV*
I'm so bummed. Now who I'm going to go with for the class trip? I really wanted to go with Kaname, and now I'll probably get paired up with someone random from the Day or Night Class. Now I'm starting to get a bit aggravated with Lily. How can she do this to a friend that is in love with the man that's always around her? Ugh, I need to get my mind off this for a bit. I'm currently on my way to the Headmaster's office, for he called me up for something. I gently knocked on the door.

"Is that you, Yuuki? Come in!" He said in his usual happy tone.

"Did you call me, Headmaster?" I said.

"Yes! It's about a new transfer student that I want you to show around! She was supposed to come earlier, but she has a weak body so she was recuperating at her villa in the mountains."

*knock knock*

"That must be her! Come in!" He said.

When the door opened, it revealed to be a girl in the Night Class uniform.

"...Night Class?" I said.

"Yes! Yuuki, this is Maria Kurenai. Maria, this is my daughter, Yuuki. She will show you around the academy."

"Hi! I'm Yuuki Cross! Nice to meet you, Maria!"

She was looking at me with a smile.

"Your blood... It looks so healthy..." She said.

"Hey! That is forbidden to say that in school grounds!" Headmaster said.

"Oh! I'm sorry. It's nice to meet you, Yuuki..." She said.

I smiled and escorted her out, showing her around the school. She seems really nice!

*Kaname's PoV*
Night Classes began, and as usual, I was reading a book as the teacher had begun his lecture. I really hope this trip will help Lily get her past memories back. 9,000 years ago, the Ishigaki Islands was the bridge between Takamagahara and here. That's where Lily and I would always meet up back then. We'd spend so much time on the beaches and just enjoy each other's company. I really want to have her in my arms again and and tell her how much I love her so. But I'm worried about her curse. The fact that she will die in four months, and killing Shizuka Hio. I mean, she told me that the key to saving her is to prove myself as an eternal soulmate, I guess...She's also been tasked with the most challenging mission yet. I saw that Kiryu wasn't at the gate either, so he must have gone with Lily as well knowing who she was going up against.

"The girl that's been delaying her transfer is finally coming...Kind of mysterious isn't it? I smell the aroma of crime." Takuma said, looking out the window.

"Are you talking about that book you were reading yesterday?" Shiki said.

"I heard she was coming today." Rima said.

"Hmm.." Shiki said chewing on a pocky stick.

"HEY! Those were my pocky sticks! And I was going to give one to Dorm President Kuran.. There goes my fun..." Aido said to Shiki.

Aido never changes... I just continued reading my book, not listening to their conversation.

A small laugh was heard throughout the classroom and that caught my attention.

"I'm glad that this is such a lively group... Hey. When does class start?" She said.

It's her. She's not who everyone thinks she is. She is the one who Lily is searching
for. What she is doing now is pointless.. I should have stopped Lily from doing all this. It is unnecessary.

*Lily's PoV*
Zero and I stepped out from the limo and made our way to the Association's Headquarters. As we walked past the hallways of headquarters, many of the other hunters had their eyes on Zero and I.

"Look it's Lily!" One of the hunters my age said.

"She's looking even more beautiful than usual."  Another said.

"As expected of the noble daughter of Kazuki and Hiromi!"

"And Zero's with her this time...."

"Are they doing some sort of mission together?"

I sighed as I heard their declarations.

"It must be tough..." Zero said.

"What is?" I asked him.

"To have all these hunters looking at you. You're like the talk these days."

"Yes. It's a bother, but I somehow got used to it." I said. Most of them just act nice to me because I'm a noble.

We walked to the Association President's office to greet him or her. I softly knocked on the door.

"Come in." I heard from the other side.

Zero and I then entered his office and greeted us with a smile.

"Lady Lily! And Zero! It's a pleasure to see you both again! I see you have received my request, Lily?"

"Yes. And I accept it. I will take the role to execute Shizuka Hio as my final mission."

"Great! And Zero, what brings you here tonight?"

"I'm here to aid Lily in this mission. That woman ruined my life. It's natural that I help Lily in the execution."

"That's fine with me. As long as the deed is done."

We left the Association President's office and made our way to the Association's library. As we were walking through the hallways, Zero broke the awkward silence that was between us.

"So.. I see that you have gotten closer to Kuran. And I told you he is dangerous." He said.

What?! Why did he mention Kaname all of a sudden?! My heart skipped a beat as his name was mentioned. I don't want to tell him that I'm starting to have feelings for Kaname, especially when he's the one that warned me to stay away..

"What makes you think I got closer to him?" I said, pretending to not care.

"I saw him walking you to the Sun Dorms today when you didn't go to class. You two looked like you were pretty close." He said.

"Ok, first of all he took me because I wasn't feeling really well, and second of all he was with Takuma!" I said. Why am I blushing as I say this?! He seemed to notice this, because he smirked.

"Heh.. Then let me ask you this. Did he ask you to be his partner for the upcoming class trip?"

Damnit.. Bullseye.. I stayed quiet after his statement.

"You do realize he is a Pureblood don't you? If he ends up biting you...."

Kaname isn't that type of person to bite humans just to turn them into Level D's. He has control.

"I trust him. He won't do it.."

"You really have faith in him, don't you? You're out of your mind... He has so many secrets buried within him. Who knows what kind of person he is?" He said.

He's a man who's gone through so much suffering and pain... I thought to myself.

"Listen. Don't hesitate to come to me if you need anything. You can be such a freaking scatterbrain sometimes it can get really annoying."

"Since when are you so open with me?" I said curiously.

"Since now." He said, walking ahead of me.

I sighed.

We made it to the library and went through the records... Let's see... Kuran, Hanadagi, Toma, Shoto, Shirabuki.. Ah! Here it is, Hio!

"Found it, Zero!" I said taking the book out of the shelf.

I sat down and began reading the books to see if there is anything important that I should know.

"It's just a bunch of boring stuff about them. There's nothing important here." Zero said as he skimmed through the books.

"Don't you yourself know anything about the Hio family, Zero?"

"Nothing really. I don't give a crap about those pitiful Purebloods. And you?"

"Not really..." I said.

"Looks like we wasted our time here. Let's quickly go to the Hio estate and see if there is anything there." He said.

I then heard my cellphone ring.

I took it out and the number was unknown.

"Who could be calling me? And I've never seen this number calling me before."

"...Hello? Who's this?" I said.

"It's Kaname."

"Kaname?! How did you get my number?"

"Your younger sister Seira gave it to me."

I sighed. Oh, Seira won't back off...

"What's up, Kaname? Shouldn't you be in class?" I said.

"I stepped out for a second. I just want to tell you not to keep wasting your time. You're not going to find anything there."

"What do you mean? What are you trying to tell me?"

"Shizuka Hio disappeared and has taken the form of another vampire. Those are my suspicions... Do not speak of this to Yuuki, ok?"

My eyes widened and I stood up quickly from the table.

"Really? Thank you, Kaname! And I won't say anything!"

"Anything for you. Be careful on your way back, alright?"

"Ok. I'll see you when I get back." I said with a smile.

"Disgusting. That sounds like you're talking to your boyfriend." He said in a disgusted tone.

"What, you jeeealous?" I said.

He turned around. I saw that his ears were red.

"Shut up. No I'm not. What did he want anyways?" He said, changing the subject.

"Someone suspicious is at Cross Academy. It may be that her presence is there in the form of a different person. But let's not come to a conclusion. It's probably one of Kaname's suspicions." I said.

*Zero's PoV*
I saw that Lily was talking on the phone with Kuran. She makes it so obvious. She likes him and she blushes a bit when she talks to him. She denies that she has feelings for him when in all honesty she likes him.

"Ok. I'll see you when I get back." She said with a smile.

"Disgusting. That sounds like you're talking to your boyfriend..." I said in a disgusted tone.

"What, you jeeealous?" She said, smirking.

I turned around. I can't deny it. In all honesty, I'm starting to have a thing for her.  I can't help but blush.

"Shut up. No I'm not. What did he want anyways?" I said, changing the subject.

"So what are we going to do now?" I said.

"Go back to Cross Academy. There's nothing for us to find at the residence." She said.

I nodded my head and made our way out of the Association building.

As Lily was walking in front of me outside the Association, I smelled her blood from her skin. It's smells divine. I can't control myself, no matter how much I try to hold back.

I took her hand.

"What is it, Zero?" She said with her gentle voice.

"I..." I then stopped my sentence for a second.

My eyes glowed red and she turned around.

"You need blood, don't you..." She said a bit worriedly.

She sighed. "Take some. You're a Level D, aren't you? Do what you must, Zero." She said in an emotionless tone. It's like she doesn't care at all.

I embraced her and made my way to her neck. I'll try not to take much..

I bit into her and she flinched a bit.

Her blood really does taste divine...  I was able to see some of her memories.

I see... her, but she is wearing a white dress and a flower crown. She is sitting with someone, resting her head on his shoulder watching the sunset, sitting on the sand. Is that Kuran with her? I quickly stopped.

"Sorry for that." I said.

"It's fine. But it seems like you need to control yourself a bit more, Zero." She said as she continued walking ahead of me. What a bother...  I need to get over these ridiculous feelings. Did she share a special relationship with Kuran once upon a time?  Are those memories that she doesn't remember or something that she wants to forget? Those were deep within her thoughts.

As much as I like her, she and I are not fated to be together... I have to let her go, so that she can live a happy life.

As we were on our way to the limo which was parked not too far, we were confronted by a horde of Level E's.

*Lily's PoV*

As Zero was taking my blood, for some reason, I get a memory of my happy past with Kaname.

I was at a beach, my head on Kaname's shoulder. I was wearing a short white dress with a flower crown and I was barefoot. We were looking at the sunset together, sitting on the soft sand. I couldn't hear the words that he was saying to me. For some reason, I just want to be in his arms right now...

Kaname...

Zero stopped and as he did, I left my world of thoughts and I saw that a horde of stray Level E's were surrounding us.

"Hehe... Here's where the fun begins.." I said with a smirk.

I took out Bloody Diamond and Zero took out his Bloody Rose gun.

Our backs pressed against each other, we begin to fire at the Level E's. One was leaping on my direction but I instantly dodged it and kicked it into the sky. Zero was simply firing bullets at them and they disappeared one by one.

A few minutes later, all of them were gone.

"All done! And not even a scratch." I said in a satisfied tone.

Zero stayed silent. It seems that he really doesn't like killing Level E's. He sympathizes with them.

After that, the ride back to Cross Academy was silent. Zero did not speak one word after defeating those Level E's.

*Kaname's PoV*
Classes ended, and I decided to make my way to the fountain and wait until Lily comes back. I want to see her.  It bothers me that she was with Kiryu alone, especially when he's on his way to becoming a Level E.

As I sat at the fountain, I sat there thinking how I met Lily, or as she was once known as Kira.

*flashback*

I was walking through the beach side at the Ishigaki Islands. I'm sick of this war between the vampires and the vampire hunters. She's gone. She sacrificed herself for the sake of vampire hunter weapons. I honestly need a break from all of this. As I was walking through the smooth, silky sand, I see a girl in the distance staring into the distance, enjoying the sunset.

She's so beautiful... Is she even from here? She was wearing a white dress and a flower crown and she was barefooted.

I couldn't help but approach her, so I slowly made my move.

"Umm..." I said.

"Vampire!" She said as she was pointing her weapon at me.

"Don't worry. I'm not here to hurt you. I just want to talk to you..." I said, trying to get to her.

"That's weird. A vampire wanting to talk to me, a human being born in Takamagahara?" She said in a confused tone.

"So? Is there a problem with that? I wish for coexistence between humans and vampires."

"Really... My people don't wish for that. They believe that vampires are a sin, they shouldn't be around humans."

We are living beings as well. I believe that we should all be treated equally.

"That's not right at all. We are all people here. We should have the same rights." I said.

"You're an interesting one. What's your name?" She said curiously, looking right into my eyes.

"I'm Kaname Kuran. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss...?"

"Kira. Kira Adachi. I guess I can say it's a pleasure to meet you as well, Kaname..." She said with a kind smile.

*end of flashback*

She and I started hanging out more and about a month later, she and I fell in love.  It's sad how things turned out. The fact that she was killed. But I'm happy that she's reincarnated and is here now. I honestly hope she gets her memories back soon....

I looked ahead and I see Lily on her way back to the Sun Dorms.

"Lily!" I said calling out to her.

"Oh, hey there Kaname!" She said, changing directions and coming up to me.

I smiled at her positivity. When she got closer to me, I smelled Kiryu's scent all over her. He took her blood... That son of a...

"Lily, did you let Kiryu take your blood?" I said.

She shrugged it off. "It's not really a big deal. He was thirsty, and he it looked like he was going to pass out. I was the only one there to help him. I'm guessing no one else would help him, so I had to do what was necessary." She said.

I can't get mad at her. She's just far to nice to everyone. It's in her nature.

"You're so kind, Lily..." I said with a kind smile.

I embraced her and what surprised me was that she embraced me back and wrapped her arms around me.

"And you seem to be very understanding, Kaname..." She said in a gentle tone.

"Lily, you..." It surprised me she was acting this way.

She quickly broke from the embrace and blushed.

"Sorry... My body seemed to move by itself." She said in a bit of a nervous tone.

I once again brought her into my arms. "No, it's fine. Let's stay like this for a bit longer..."

"Kaname... What are you..." She spoke in a surprised tone, but I interrupted her.

"You know, your personality hasn't changed at all. You continue to be so clueless, not recognizing my feelings for you. Don't you feel the same way...?" I said in a gentle tone.

She stayed silent. However, I sensed the beating of her heart and it was pounding like crazy. I knew it. She feels the same way, even if her memories from the past are scattered over the place.

"I will help you get your memories back.. So you can remember me and the happy times that we once shared.." I said.

"Kaname...What if I told you that even if I still don't remember us from 9,000 years ago, what if said that even so, I still love you?"

My eyes widened. Even if she still doesn't remember us from the past, she still loves me?

"Lily..." I said in a surprised tone.

"I told myself that I would never love anyone again because of my past relationships. But... when Zero told me to beware of you, when he mentioned "Kuran" my heart skipped a beat at the mention of your name, I told him that there are some nice vampires out there....And when I met you in the first day of duties, my statement was correct. You were so kind and gentle, but I didn't want to trust my feelings again so I acted cold towards you. I ignored those feelings because I didn't want to feel hurt or betrayed again. Something within me continued to grow. I never felt this way since I was with my ex-fiancé, Itsuki. Honestly, I cannot deny my feelings anymore and keep them bottled up within myself. I love you, Kaname."

My eyes widened. She feels the exact same way...

"Lily... I love you too. I have always loved you for these past 9,000 years. I was at one point in love with Yuuki, because I thought you were never going to come back into my life again... I thought you faded from exed up forgetting about you because of the beings above... and ended falling in love with another woman... I feel so guilty. I'm so sorry, Lily..." I said regretfully.

"It's fine. You didn't remember, and everyone always has someone that they fall in love with before they meet the one. My memories are scattered all over the place, and I have had my past relationships as well. I was once in love with Itsuki, and he was my vision of the "perfect husband", so my parents set up an arranged engagement with him. Only to then find out he was cheating on me with a different woman, so I ended the engagement with him. Ever since then, I told myself I would never love someone again, well... That's until I met you, Kaname."

She's been through so much. I want to be the one to make her happy...

"Lily, I promise I won't be like those men. I will be your last." I said to her as I embraced her.

*Yuuki's PoV*

As I was walking back to the Sun Dorms, I see Zero walking in front of me.

"Wait, Zero!" I said, calling out to him trying to catch up.

"What?" He said, stopping not turning around.

"Oh, ummm.. I just wanted to know how was it at the Association..." I asked curiously.

"It was fine... Just the usual work." He said.

He's still not telling me anything... There is something more to this.

"Are you sure about that? Lily looked pretty serious when she was leaving, and it seems that it was very important because even Seira didn't want to tell me anything."

"Yuuki. Don't worry about what is going on. It doesn't concern you, so don't worry yourself." He said in an annoyed tone.

But I have a right to know! I'm a guardian too! Even if I'm not a vampire hunter, I still believe that I should know the situation as well!

"You're the one who entrusted me to kill you if you go berserk! Of course this is my problem. Have you forgotten?" I asked, trying to get him to remember

"Tch... You really are so annoying." He said.

He then continued walking back on his way to the boys' dorm.

Why won't they tell me what is going on?!

As I continued walking back to the dorms, I saw that Lily and Kaname were at the fountain alone. I hid behind a bush to see if Lily was going to say anything to Kaname about her trip to the Association. Maybe I'll find out something from them...It seems that she just returned as well I couldn't believe what I was seeing in front of me. Kaname was embracing her. Tears threatened to fall from my eyes. It seems that he is too busy, focusing himself on Lily than sensing my presence. I decided to listen in on their conversation, and it had nothing to do with what I'm trying to find out.

"I told myself that I would never love anyone again because of my past relationships. But... when Zero told me to beware of you, when he mentioned "Kuran" my heart skipped a beat at the mention of your name, I told him that there are some nice vampires out there....And when I met you in the first day of duties, my statement was correct. I thought you faded from existence... I ended up forgetting about you because of the beings above... and ended falling in love with another woman... I feel so guilty. I'm so sorry, Lily..."

"It's fine. You didn't remember, and everyone always has someone that they fall in love with and end up breaking up with them. My memories are scattered all over the place, and I have had my past relationships as well. I was in love with Itsuki and he was my vision of the "perfect husband", so my parents set up an arranged engagement with him. Only to then find out he was cheating on me with a different woman, so I ended the engagement with him. Ever since then, I told myself I would never love someone again, well... That's until I met you, Kaname."

W-what am I hearing? Did Lily and Kaname just confess to each other? And what is this about 9,000 years ago? Do they have some sort of past together? I can understand Kaname for living over 9,000 years as he is a vampire, but Lily? She's a human, she's not immortal... Either way, just because they have a past together, it's over right? Things have changed.

"Wouldn't we be considered boyfriend and girlfriend now...?" He said.

She was blushing fiercely, and the words I just thought of were in vain. Kaname loves Lily. He's infatuated with her now. But I can't just sit back and let this flow! I have to do something!

"I-I guess so..." She said nervously.

"It's good that we confessed before the trip. Now we can be together all the time. I already confirmed it with the Headmaster. We are officially partners for the trip." He said with a smile.

He looks so happy... I thought he was that way with me only... I thought I was his one and only...

"Yuuki..." When I turned around, Maria was behind me, looking at the confrontation between Kaname and Lily.

They held hands as Kaname walked her back to the Sun Dorms.

My hands were formed into fists.

"You're bothered by them...Who is that girl? I've never seen her before.." She said.

"Lily Adachi... She's a guardian of this school as well." I said, looking away.

"Adachi, huh... A vampire hunter from a noble family... How interesting. And you love Kaname Kuran? I saw you a lot with Zero. What happened between you two?" She said curiously.

I looked away. "Things are just... complicated at the moment."

"Heh... How interesting. I can't wait to see how things are going to turn out! Well, I'll see you around, my dear Yuuki..." She said with a smirk as she made her way back to the old Night Class dorms.

After Maria left back to her dorm, I walked back dejected and sad.

I cannot lose to Lily... I just can't. And I won't. He was in love with me once. I'm sure he can love me again...
