*Lily's PoV*

Heavy raindrops began to fall from the sky as we walked our way to the old Night Class dorms.

"This place here reaaally gives me the creeps, and the rain is all sticky..." Seira said.

"It's not as creepy as half of the missions we've been on." Daisuke stated.

"Haha, you're right about that." I said with a laugh.

"This dorm has not been used for a few years, since the new Night Class dorms were built. Supposedly the Night Class teachers stay here, but there is really not much of them, from what I seen. That is why Shizuka stays here, as there is really no one here. Maybe that is the reason to why you consider it "creepy" as you all think." Kaname said.

"You guys used to stay there?!" Hiroki said in surprise.

"Well of course. Where else do you think we stayed during the time when the current dorms we are now at were being built?" Aido said.

"Oh... I just thought you guys commuted for the time being." Hiroki said confused.

"Nah. That would be too much. After all, this is a boarding school." Aido answered.

"I see..."

Oh Hiroki, my dear little brother. You are such a curious one.

I smiled at the confrontation.

"Are you cold, Lily?" Kaname asked.

"Yes, a bit..."

He smiled and took of his coat, putting it on me.

I smiled. "Thank you."

"We wouldn't want you catching cold, now would we?"

"I would be fine either way, but thanks for your concern." I said with a smile.

"Of course. That's one of my responsibilities as your lover. Taking care of you in sickness and health."

I blushed. That's one of the vows a married couple makes. Marrying Kaname... That is one of my dreams. It always has been for 9,000 years. But we never got the chance to because of our racial differences. My grandfather won't ever let me marry Kaname, much less take the Kuran name. If my family finds out that I'm pregnant with Kaname's children, they will never forgive me.

"Don't worry." He said, putting his hand on my shoulder, smiling.

"What?"

"You needn't worry about anything. Everything is going to be alright. Like I told you before, there is a reason for your reincarnation. I don't think you were born to die again. I believe you were reborn to make a change as well; A change that will impact the future generations of the Adachi family. "

"How do you know?" I asked curiously.

"Like I just said. Everything that happens is for a reason."

"Alright then. I'll believe you." I said happily.

"Then let's finish this mess so you and I can live a peaceful life."

"A-are you sure do you want to be with me? There is going to be so many obstacles that the both of us are going to face. And my grandfather and mother..."

"Of course I want to be with you. I am not backing out from this. I do not care what your grandfather, mother, or anyone from your family thinks. I want to be with you no matter what." He said, grabbing my hand tighter.

"Kaname...."

"Uhm, excuse me? We are over here, you know." Daisuke said, raising up his hand.

"Sorry about that..." I said.

"We'll do what we do when none of you are around." Kaname said as he and I walked ahead of everyone.

"Ugh... lovebirds these days. They love to stand out. Meanwhile I'm just a lonely single guy with no girlfriend..." Hiroki said with a pout.

"Hiroki, there's always someone out there for you. Maybe it's simply because the girl that you are looking for isn't here at Cross Academy." I stated, turning my head as we walked.

"I guess you're right about that. But what if it takes years?"

"You're only 16, Hiroki. Look at Daisuke. He's 18 and single, and he's not making up a fuss like you are right now." Seira said.

"Easy for you to say..." He said in a low tone.

We continued walking and I slowly opened the front door of the old Night Class dorms. The doors opened with a creak.

"It's been a while since we were here. Nothing really has changed." Aido said, looking around.

"Well, well. If it isn't my dear brother Zero and all of his friends." Ichiru said, who was at the top of the stairs carrying a sword.

"Ichiru..." Zero said angrily.

"I have some bad news for you all. I will not let you pass this point. I will not let you kill Lady Shizuka, Lily Adachi."

Zero stepped forward. "Well, I also have some bad news for you, Ichiru. Shizuka is not going to make it."

"Lily, come with me. I know another way to where she is." Kaname whispered, taking my hand and pulling me to a door that I haven't seen before.

"Wait, what?" I said confused.

Seira and Hanabusa came along with us as the others dealt with Ichiru.

"Hey! Get back here!" Ichiru hissed, trying to after us. However Daisuke, Hiroki, and Zero stopped him.

"Uh-uh... You ain't moving from here, buddy. I suggest surrender, or be killed here." Daisuke said out loud.

I looked over at the three of them worriedly.

"Go. Do what you have to do Adachi. Kill that woman. The three of us will handle Ichiru."

"Zero..."

He smiled at me.

"I believe in you. You'll pull it off. Because you're strong." Zero said surely.

It was Kaname, Seira, Aido, Itsuki, and I. The five of us were going to where Shizuka and that dark being was.

"Be safe Zero, Daisuke, Hiroki." I said with a smile.

"Don't let that pain get the best of you. Dad wouldn't like that, you know." Daisuke said strictly.

I smiled. "Yeah. Don't worry."

The five of us then went through the door and went up a secret passage that would lead us to where Shizuka could possibly be.

*Zero's PoV*

I looked at Ichiru in disappointment. I still can't believe that Ichiru is helping that woman. It sickens me... After everything she has done. Because of her, I've become a monster.

"You're a disgrace to all vampire hunters, Ichiru. How can you be helping her? She killed your parents!" Daisuke said angrily.

"None of you understand anything! My sadness, my pain. What I went through as a sick child. My parents said that I did not have a positive future as a vampire hunter because I was born weak. The only one that brought light to my world was Lady Shizuka! She believes in me, confides in me, something my parents didn't believe in!"

"You're an idiot!" Hiroki said angrily, running over to Ichiru with his sword.

Ichiru quickly blocked Hiroki's attack with his sword as well.

"What the-"

The both of them had their swords clashed against each other, trying to get the upper hand.

"Lily is going through the same thing as you! She has a weak body and you know what?! She continues to fight and do her duty as a vampire hunter! I'm positive that your parents loved the both of you equally very much! So don't you ever dare say that! When Lily was young, she was forced to go through a bunch of training to overcome her weaknesses! You could have done the same thing that she did if you were so bothered about it!" Hiroki screamed in anger.

He is right. Ichiru could have made it with the help of Master and some doctors. Everything just went by so quick after that woman attacked us and ruined everything.

Ichiru stayed silent and looked away, however he brought his head back up and and parried the sword, making Hiroki fall back to the ground, his sword falling to the other side of the room.

"Hiroki!" Daisuke said, running over to him.

"You're weak emotionally, Ichiru."

"Lady Shizuka has been through a lot! She's been suffering all this time, she lost the man she loved because of our parents!"

"All of you are so wrong . Oh my...what a mess. It seems like none of you knew the truth..."

A dark mist appeared and before us appeared a man with pale skin, dark black hair, and dark brown eyes.. He was dressed formally, wearing a long black cloak.

Who the hell is he? He has such a negative aura surrounding him...

"Who are you?!" Daisuke asked in a high tone.

He smiled somewhat evilly. "I am called Yami, the current ruler of the Ayakashis. I'm not here to fight any of you. I'm here to state the truth before everything begins."

He's an Ayakashi? But he looks like any other human being, he does not resemble one at all.

"What are you talking about? You never said anything about truth..." Ichiru stated in a confused tone.

"Because I believe now is the right time, even though they aren't here to hear it."

His plan? Wait... he's the one that possessed Yuuki!

All of us were lost for words. We did not speak a word. What truth is he even talking about?

"Kaname Kuran and Itsuki Inoue... are both liars. Both of them have a big part to what is going on right now. All of these events that are occurring... Are their fault. You are all being fooled."

"Kaname and Itsuki?! I mean I understant Itsuki, but Kaname?! He is my sister's lover! He has been by her side all this time, despite what happened before!"

He sighed in annoyance.

"Seriously. Complete idiots. Especially you two: Zero and Ichiru. Do you not understand what Kaname did?"

"Kaname began all of this. After Shizuka's lover was killed by your parents in the past, it seems that she ended up getting imprisoned by the Senate. However... Kaname freed her from her cage and she ended up at the Kiryu residence, killing your parents. He intended for this to happen. At that time, he did it for that one person: Yuuki Kuran. The one whom he killed when I was in possession."

Then... Why did he free her in the first place?! For Yuuki, whom it seems that he didn't really didn't truly love? All of this happened for nothing?! They died unfairly?!

Ichiru's eyes widened as well.

"As for Itsuki Inoue, this dates back to the time of the ancestors. According to the hidden records in the Ishigaki Islands, it is stated that Eiichi Inoue, the Inoue family's ancestor and Itsuki's past life began the Adachi family's curse. He is the one who told Amaterasu to put the curse on Lily simply because he was in love with her and he wanted her to die in order to reincarnate and be with her in the current life. His wish came true...for a time."

This time, I saw that Hiroki and Daisuke's faces began angry.

"That jerk...was the one that cursed our family?!"

"That is correct. And if you don't believe me, why don't you go ask them yourself?"

All of us stayed silent, and just stood there in silence. I'm surprised that this Ayakashi guy isn't making a move to attack us.. He just stood there, smiling evilly.

*Lily's PoV*

The five of us walked through the dark hallways of the old Night Class dorms. I noticed the chandeliers in the hallway were dimmed down. The hidden hallway was dead silent where we were walking.

"So what was this hidden hallway used for anyways? And why was it necessary to have one?" I asked curiously as I looked around, carrying Golden Artemis.

"It was if anything out of the ordinary happened. For example, a situation like this or if Rido attacked, the aristocrats and other low-level vampires would escape from here."

"I see. That was a smart thing to do..."

That dark aura has made its move.... From what I can sense, the aura is where Zero, Ichiru, HIroki, and Daisuke are! I hope they are okay over there... I'm worried. That very negative presence is something that makes me very weak to my knees.

I ignored this negative presence that weakened me and continued moving forward. This person has sinned so much, it's like he has been corrupted completely. This person is suffering deep inside.

"You sense it, Lily?"

"Yes... I can sense an Ayakashi presence where Zero and the others are... "

"I'm sure they are fine, though. Daisuke and Hiroki can defeat someone like Ichiru. Zero as well." Itsuki said confidently.

"But like I stated... It's not Ichiru's presence I'm worried about. It's that other dark presence that I sense where they are."

"I don't sense him doing anything, though. He's just standing there, making no vital movement." Kaname said.

"Should we go back?"

"You guys can, but I'm cannot. I must finish this once and for all..."

"Wait!" I heard someone call out to us.

To my surprise, I saw Ichiru running to us with Zero, Daisuke and Hiroki behind us.

"Wait, Ichiru don't tell her!" Hiroki said loudly.

"It's both THEIR faults that all of this is happening! It's because of him our parents were killed and why Lily has to kill Lady Shizuka!" Ichiru said angrily, glaring at Kaname and Itsuki both.

"What? What are you even talking about?! How is this my fault?" Itsuki said.

"It's not just yours.... It's Kuran's as well!"

"Whoa, whoa. Let's all just stop and think for a second. What are you talking about, Ichiru?" I said confused.

"Everything that has happened 9,000 years before until now... It's all because of the both of them! Your boyfriend and ex-fiance caused this big mess!"

"Ichiru! Now is not the time to talk about this!" Zero said out loud angrily.

"What's done is done. There is nothing we can do about it. We can talk about it when we end all of this." Aido said.

"No! I cannot. Lily cannot do this!"

"What are you saying, Ichiru? I must do this! This is the mission I was given and I must complete it!" I said confidently.

"If you know the full story, then you'll understand!"

"Ichiru...please calm yourself." A woman's soft voice echoed throughout the area.

In front of us, she finally has shown her true self.

"Shizuka..." I said softly.

"Lily Adachi. It is finally a pleasure to see you as myself. I see that you have been tasked with the mission to end my life, correct?"

"Yes, I have. Now why don't you be a good vampire and just let me kill you.." I said, pointing Golden Artemis at her.

"It's Kuran's fault! He's the one who freed her from her cage and she went on a rampage killing my parents!" Ichiru continued in his angry tone.

What? What does Kaname have to do with any of this? Did he really do that?

"Lady Shizuka....Did that man truly free you from your cage?" Ichiru said, trying to calm down.

She smirked. "Now.. Why should I be the one explaining things to you, when the man who should be explaining things to you is standing right there?" She said, looking over at Kaname.

"Kaname. What are you hiding now? I thought there was going to be no more secrets against us."

"Lily... That was in the past. Don't you remember that we promised to never talk about it? Please forget what you just heard."

"Tell me now. You did something unforgivable didn't you? My heart can sense it... You are hiding something from me."

"I...do not think this is the time to tell you. We have more important matters to take care of right now."

"I guess I should just say this flat out. Eiichi was the one who began our family's curse Lily. He was the one that told Amaterasu to curse you because of his unconditional one-side love for you. He wanted you to reincarnate so that you can end up being with him in this life! It's Itsuki's fault that our family is like this! I probably understand now why I've always had something against you, Inoue. Why the relationship between you two was never right..." Hiroki said.

I grabbed Golden Artemis tightly. I've already made my resolve. I will kill Shizuka, no matter what happened. She did something terrible either way..

"I do not care what happened. She did what she did. She must pay."

...Why is so much anger and hate bubbling up in me? That dark mist...

"I'll do you a favor, Lily. I'll kill Shizuka Hio for you by using your body. With the incredible power I have, I could wipe her out easily..."

Everything before me then went blank...

*Kaname's PoV*

I noticed that Lily's head was slowly spinning around. I sense her feelings are all over the place, as if all her feelings are going to blow up. And when that happens, that will make her vulnerable to an Ayakashi...

"Lily... Are you alright?" I asked her.

Then words that I couldn't expect to come from her came out from her mouth.

"Shut up, Kuran."

Lily stepped forward with an evil smile on her face.

"And this is where I double-cross you, Shizuka Hio." Lily said in a completely different tone.

"Oh really? Well then Yami. You are a very sneaky one. I knew you were suspicious, but I didn't know you would go this far." She said with a smirk.

"Well, surprise, surprise. Yes. I would go this far, Shizuka. I'm actually doing this girl a favor so that she could die in peace once her soul is gone from this body in a few months from now. Because this girl has incredible powers hidden within her. Enough power to create a new world after one is destroyed... I will create a world in this girl's body as a world of darkness and humans corrupted by Ayakashi beings. And....to make things worse, when the time comes, I will get revenge on the Kuran family for killing my sister... I will make you suffer, Kaname Kuran. I will kill you in this girl's body."

"How dare you corrupt my lover's body, Keiji Kurono...."

"Kaname... How do you know who he is?" Daisuke said in a confused tone.

"Because Haruka, my foster father killed his sister Keira a few years back." I stated in a calm tone.

"So you do remember, you son of a-" He said pointing Lily's Golden Artemis at me, however brought it back down. "No...The time for my revenge with your family hasn't come yet. Right now, I must deal with this woman." He said, turning around, facing Shizuka.

"Your end has arrived, Shizuka Hio."

Ichiru quickly ran over putting both arms out, protecting Shizuka.

"I will not let you hurt her, Yami!"

"No, I will fight him, my dear. Don't worry about me." Shizuka said stepping forward.

"Let us do this, Yami. However, beware that you may end up killing this girl in the process."

"This girl is crucial to my plans. I promise you she won't die. The one who is going to die is you..."

The two of them then began to clash...

That man..... How dare he take over Lily's body. What advantage would he have with her? Unless... her hidden powers have something to do with the situation...

*Takuma's PoV*

I slowly made my way to the Headmaster's office. Everyone in the Night Class has found out about Yuuki's death, and now I must go and talk about it to the Headmaster on Kaname's orders. I'm guessing he must be suspicious about something, since he hasn't seen her for a while...

It's still raining... The air around here leaves me breathless. I wonder how Kaname and the others are doing over there...

I looked back at the old Night Class dorms. So, the battle has begun huh... I wish them the best of luck.

I continued walking until I found myself to the entrance of the Headmaster's home.

I nervously knocked on the door and about a minute later, the door knob slowly began to turn around, revealing the Headmaster with his usual cheerful smile on his face.

"Ichijo! What brings you here this evening?"

"Actually, I need to speak with you about something important."

"Who is there, Kaien?" A woman's voice echoed from the kitchen.

"Oh! It's just Takuma from the Night Class! Says there is something important that he wants to tell me!"

Out of the kitchen, came out an woman that seemed to be an older version of Lily.

"Um..."

"Oh, you haven't met her yet. This is Hiromi Adachi, Lily's mother. She's staying here for the time being to be closer to her children. She came here just today."

"A pleasure to meet you... I'm Takuma Ichijo, the Vice-Dorm President of the Night Class..."

"Well, have a seat, Takuma." He said, directing me to the couch in the living room.

"Thank you."

We all sat down and there was this awkward silence around us.

"So before we get to the subject, how is my precious Yuuki doing?"

"Um... She is actually the one that I want to talk to you about. Yuuki is..."

His expression went serious.

"Did something happen to her?"

"....Yes. Look, Headmaster. Yuuki is gone. And when I mean gone, she was killed. She no longer exists in this world."

"My Yuuki? What are you..."

"Yuuki was possessed by by a dark Ayakashi. She was corrupted, and she begged Lily to kill her."

"Takuma, you don't mean to tell me that my daughter killed..." Hiromi said, her eyes widened.

However, I interrupted her.

"No. Lily did not want to kill Yuuki. In the end, the one who killed Yuuki was actually Kaname. Yuuki was begging for death. She felt like she didn't belong in this world from what Kaname told me."

"Kaname killed Yuuki? The person that he said that he treasured the most? How is that even possible?"

"Kaname loved Yuuki in the past. But with Lily, those two share an inseparable, unbreakable fate. Those two were brought together by destiny..." I said confidently.

"Destiny, huh. So it was destiny for my daughter to be killed? Yuuki did have a place in this world! With me as her father! She was a stubborn girl until the very end, wasn't she... Not getting what she wanted. And because she didn't get what she wanted, she chose death, didn't she..."

"I'm sorry to have to tell you this, Headmaster." I said regretfully.

"Where's Kaname right now?" Headmaster asked.

"Facing Shizuka. Night Classes have been cancelled for the night." 

"Is Lily and my other children with them?"

"Yes. Lily is doing her mission."

"No...." Hiromi said in a fearful soft tone.

"What's wrong, Hiromi?" Headmaster asked.

"Once Lily kills Shizuka, Lily will weaken even more. Shizuka has sinned so much..."

"She needs to do this, Hiromi. She is committing justice."

She sighed. "I know that... But it's going to be tough to know that my daughter will end up leaving with her father up there. I can't lose Lily as well..."

"Look, there is still that eternal soulmate thing. Kaname can still save her from the curse! There is still an alternative to everything, Hiromi. Don't give up hope. Even though my precious daughter is gone, I believe that there is a new life waiting for her from here on out." Headmaster said, reassuring her in a somewhat sad tone.

"You're right...  I'm such an idiot. I'm not believing in my daughter, who is fighting for her life. I shouldn't be coming to conclusions like that."

"Well, it's natural to be worried about your children. But I know Lily. She is a strong lady. I'm positive that Kaname will save her."

"To think that man is the one to save my daughter... I never wanted this to happen, Kaien. I never wanted Lily to meet Kaname again. I knew the world would be at risk..."

"Everything comes with new beginnings. I'm sure Kaname and Lily will be the ones to end the Adachi family's curse. I'm sure of it." Headmaster said confidently.

I smiled. Yes, he is very correct from that aspect. Just because Lily is bestowed with a curse, it doesn't mean she should give up just like that. She lives everyday of her life to the fullest, always smiling, even though she's been through many obstacles...

Lily, Kaname... Fight! Fight for your future! Don't let this tragic future happen! Don't let the past repeat!

"Are you going to forgive Kaname, Headmaster?" I asked him.

He looked away.

"Yuuki may have asked for death, but I cannot forgive him for doing that. Even though she wasn't my daughter biologically, I've been with her for half of her life."

"Headmaster..."

"Don't get me wrong. I trust Kaname, but for some reason I cannot forgive him for what he did. It just hurts me so much that he actually did kill her.."

"I understand that it hurts..." Hiromi said in a soft tone.

But, Yuuki must pay for the sins she has committed. She hurt Lily so much, like it was sticking a knife deep into her heart. She might have ended up in Hell to pay for her sins, but I think she will eventually rise once she has paid for her sins.

*Kaname's PoV*

The fight between Yami and Shizuka continued. Lily's eyes were a red color, not herself at all. It's not her who's doing this, but it pains me to see her act like this. She doesn't have that innocent, confident expression on her. It's more like a desperate, evil attempt to kill Shizuka more than anything. It is like he wants to weaken her.. I must stop this. I cannot...

I stepped forward, however Seira stopped me.

"That's not Lily, but right now at this moment, both Yami and Lily have the same goal right now. To kill that woman. Even though that man is evil, he will boost Lily's powers and kill Shizuka. Right now, Lily has the upper hand here. So just let them handle it."

I remember that man. Yami, formerly known as Keiji Kurono, the son of the former most powerful vampire hunter family and the only one from the Kurono family that still remains. Haruka killed his younger sister, Keira because she was becoming an out of control Level E.  She told him to kill her, and he did bringing her brother into depression which later became anger and hatred. From what I heard, he made some sort of deal with the Ayakashi and they granted him power...

"You're pretty strong... I see that you still have your skills as a vampire hunter." Shizuka said, catching her breath.

Everyone's eyes widened.

"He was a vampire hunter?!" Itsuki said in a surprised tone.

"Yes, and a very talented one from what I've heard in the past." Aido said, continuing to watch the fight.

"Just die already!" She screamed in anger.

With that, Yami slashed Shizuka's body with Golden Artemis, and she fell immediately to the ground, blood splattering over Lily's body and face.

And with that, Lily's face suddenly turned pale and she slowly closed her eyes, the black mist escaping from her body.

"I will return very soon.... This isn't the end yet.." Yami whispered in a very evil and dark tone.

I quickly ran over to Lily, who ended up going unconscious, and her face was pale white.

"Lily, Lily talk to me!"

"Kana...me. Don't worry.... I'm alright. I'm just...a bit tired and weak."  She slowly closed her eyes. with a smile.

"Lily!" I called out to her.

I quickly took her in my arms and made my way to the exit.

"I'll take Lily. Can you all take care of what is going on here?"

Everyone nodded their heads, and I disappeared back to the inn where she was staying in, leaving in a flock of bats.

*Zero's PoV*

"Lady Shizuka! Please, wake up!" Ichiru said, trying to get her to open her eyes.

She slowly opened her eyes.

"Why are you so sad? Shouldn't you be happy? You no longer have to worry about me anymore... Just forget about me, Ichiru."

"I could never forget about you! I will not! Without you, I-"

She smiled softly, and held his hand. My eyes widened in surprise. That woman is being so gentle to him... Why is that....? Did Ichiru really...

"You've always been so committed, Ichiru. But I'm setting you free. I don't want you having to worry about me anymore."

"Please... Don't go!"

"You're just like him...Only this time is the other way around. Ichiru... live on. At least for my sake. You have been through enough already... From tonight on, live a normal life. You don't need a monster like me in your life."

"Lady Shizuka..."

"You'll be just fine without me. I know you very well."

"No.."

"Goodbye, Ichiru."

And with that, that woman finally disappeared. Lily... I wonder, are you okay? I'm worried about you. Please recover soon...

*Kaname's PoV*

I quickly made it back to the inn and gently laid Lily down in bed. Right now she is as fragile as glass. I must be careful... Come to think of it, she needs to drink blood. Being pregnant with vampire children, she needs to drink a great amount of it... I guess I will give her some when she wakes up...

I cleaned the splattered blood off of her, and changed her into fresh, clean clothes.

I softly moved her hair to the side, and I noticed she was grabbing the sheets, cringing in pain. I need to continue to find a way out of the curse... But how...?

Do I have to turn her into a vampire? No, she told me before she didn't want to become one. There just has to be another way rather than turning her into a vampire...

"Kaname, please.... Don't leave me alone in this darkness... Stay....with....me." She groaned in her sleep.

She must be having nightmares...

I then put both of my hands atop hers.

"I'm here, Lily. I won't ever leave you." I whispered softly.

She then calmed down a bit and started breathing normally.

Lily and I promised never to keep secrets from each other... So I must tell her about the plans that I had. I need to tell her my reasons for doing what I did...
