*Kaname's PoV*
"We are leaving. Thank you for inviting us tonight." I said to Michiko.

Lily remained quiet, holding back her tears. We need to leave here as soon as possible before she breaks down again into tears.

"Already? That's too bad... Well, here are some little gifts for the both of you." She said.

She handed us two chocolate rose pops in a plastic tied in a yellow bow.

"Thank you..." Lily said in a quiet tone.

"Thank you. We will be leaving now." I said.

"Umm, wait. Before you two go, are you alright Lily?" Michiko said worriedly.

I then saw that she forced a smile on herself. "Yes I'm ok. Just a bit tired, is all."

"All right then. Rest well, the both of you." She said, waving her hand goodbye.

The both of us made it out of the mansion, and a carriage there awaited us to take us back to the beach house.

We quickly got in the carriage, and the tears once again began to flow out of her eyes.

"Dad...meant so much to all of us. He trained all of us to become vampire hunters, and he showered every one of us with his love... But now... he's gone... Who could have done this to him?" She said in tears.

"Lily... I'm here for you. It's ok... We will find out who is responsible for this." I said, trying to comfort her.

"No, Kaname! It's not ok! Mom really loved Dad! He was her entire world! But now that he is gone... I feel like she is going to fall into a deep depression, and won't snap out of it! It's like she is going to be gone from this world as well! And I..." She couldn't get the words that she wanted to speak.

It hurts me very much to see her suffering like this...

She laid her head on my shoulder.

"I want to stay like this for a while..." She said.

"We can stay like this as much as you need to." I said, bringing her into my arms.

The both of us just sat there in silence, hearing Lily's quiet cries...

*Third person PoV*
Hiromi sat outside in the waiting room, waiting to hear news about her husband.

A few minutes later, the doctor emerged from the room with a sad face.

"We did everything we can to save him, but I'm sorry, Mrs. Adachi, he lost too much blood. Your husband has passed away..."

"No..." She quietly said as she bent to the ground. "No....no... This has to be a lie. He's not dead. Yes. He's not dead."

"Mrs. Adachi, please calm down. I'm sorry but that is the truth. You need to accept this." He said, trying to calm her down.

"No..no. I won't. Kazuki..." She said as she stood up, slowly making her way to the room.

"You can go, but..."

However Hiromi didn't listen to him, she entered the room and saw Kazuki's lifeless body on the bed.

"You idiot... Why did you have to leave? Why did you leave this world? If I helped you, things would have been fine... Why did you force me to run away like that? If only I was stubborn... If I didn't listen to your words...then we could have..."

"Then the both of you would have died." Headmaster Cross said as he entered the room.

"Kaien...what are you doing here?" She said, wiping away her tears.

"I'm here to say goodbye to an old friend as well... Kazuki was an excellent partner and a great friend. It's sad to see that he was killed. However, he saved Lily and Yuuki both. If action was not taken, then the both of them would be in danger. Rido Kuran... I don't know much about him, but all I know is that he is the one that attacked the Kurans."

"We all know that. I have no reason to live anymore... Without Kazuki, I can't-"

Headmaster Cross then interrupted her sentence.

"Of course you have something to live for, Hiromi! Your children! They still need your guidance, your love... You cannot abandon them during these tough times either..."

She then looked over at Kazuki.

"Wasn't that also Kazuki's wish? During those times, when the both of us were partners, he told me that if he were to die before you, that you would move on and continue with your life. That is life, and as a vampire hunter you must be prepared to give your life to protect humans and the people that you care about the most." He added.

Hiromi stayed silent for a bit, but then spoke. "Can that even be possible...? Will I even be able to move on?"

The headmaster smiled. "Of course you will be able to! You can call me anytime if you're feeling upset! We can share some memories of Kazuki together and have a nice cup of coffee, what do you say?" He said with a smile.

"I guess we can..." She said, trying to smile.

*Lily's PoV*
The both of us came out of the carriage, making our way back to the beach house and I stayed quiet for most of the time, tightly holding his hand. Thanks to him, I've been able to calm down.

Instead of going inside, the both of us decided to go to the beach and sit on a hammock. I looked up at the shining moon above in the sky, resting my head on Kaname's shoulder.

Dad... Please tell me. Who did this to you? Who killed you?

"Lily. I might have an idea to what happened to your father." Kaname said.

"And what do you think happened, Kaname?" I said.

"Rido..." He said in a low tone.

"Rido who?" I said curiously.

"Rido Kuran, my uncle... I sensed that he recently awakened, but his presence then disappeared last night when I brought you back from rehearsal..."

My eyes widened at his declaration. Rido.. is the one who killed my father?

"There is a possibility that Rido could have killed your father, but at the same time, he killed Rido."

"Why... Why would he do that to my father...?"

"Rido is a monster. All he wanted was power and rich blood. He didn't care who got hurt, as long as it benefited him."

"I see... Since the Adachi family is known for having blood similar to Pureblood vampires, known to have god-like powers, that's why Rido..."

" ...attacked your father while he was on a mission." Kaname said as he finished the sentence.

I put my head down, a shadow forming under my bangs.

"Do you remember that time when you and I were at this same beach sitting under the sunset, and you told me that you didn't hear what I told you that afternoon?" He said.

"Oh, yes... Now I think I really remember what you said that night."

*flashback*

"The sunset looks really beautiful..." Kaname said, looking forward.

"It is, isn't it." I said.

"It's peaceful. Not like in the battlefield, when you hear the noise of blood gushing and swords piercing the skin of others." Kaname said.

"I know. It's terrible. That's why I want to end this war peacefully. I don't want to see anymore people get hurt..."

"Kira... I feel the same. This war is pointless. I want to coexist with the humans, and just live a simple life with you. Sometimes I just wish I was a human, or that you were a vampire. Then we can be truly together without anyone bothering us." Kaname said, caressing my cheek.

I sighed. "Why must our love for each other be a sin? We are like any other couple in love. We are just a vampire and human couple. How is that even a sin in Takamagahara?" I said sadly.

"Because that's what your people believe. They think we are monsters. I hope that one day, they understand that there are some of us that don't want to act that way towards them. The both of us together, let's change the future. Let's create a future, a world where vampires and humans can coexist peacefully, without rejection and sadness."

"It's going to be tough, Kaname. It's going to be a tough journey. Right now, our races continue to clash against each other. If I were to lose you, I couldn't bear it..." I said.

"I would lose myself as well, Kira. A world without you is nothing to me. I wouldn't be able to bear the pain." He said sadly.

"Kaname..."

"Listen, Kira. After this war ends, let's run away and create a new future together. Let's find a place where we can truly be ourselves and live happily." He said.

"Yes... Let's do that..." I said softly.

Kaname slowly brought his lips close to mine and kissed me gently on the lips.

*flashback end*

"Yes... I do. Creating a new future together, a future where vampires and humans could coexist. But I don't even know if that is even possible anymore. Things have gotten even worse, I just don't know if that is even possible." I said sadly.

"If it's you and I, it can be possible. You, a human and I, a vampire. It can be. Together, we will avert this curse and make the people believe that we the vampires aren't bad people." He said.

I smiled.

I bet Amaterasu is watching us from above. Watch, Amaterasu. I will avert your curse. Like there are bad humans in this world, there are also bad vampires as well.

Dad, I knew this all along. You never wanted any of us to fall in love with a vampire. However, all you cared for was our happiness. However, it's too late. I already did fall in love with one. And he's the one who I want to be with for all my life.

I'm sorry, Dad... I hope that wherever you are, you can forgive me.

The hammock began to rock slowly as we both looked forward to the beach, as a soft island breeze passed by.

Kaname had wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

Now Kaname, Seira, Daisuke, and I have to leave back home, to see the situation...

*Third person PoV, Takamagahara*

Amaterasu stood watching Kaname and Lily's conversation.

"Will you truly be able to overcome this curse, Lily? Will you be able to be with Kaname truly without the planet being destroyed? Will you let the world be destroyed, or will you let yourself be killed by the man you love to save the other people that you care about?"

"Sir, are you truly sure this is the right thing to do? The world here is now at stake, now that the both of them have now become one and their bond has become even stronger..." His subordinate said.

"Even if the world is destroyed, a new world can be reborn. And even if Lily is killed, she can simply be reborn once again. Like I told you, it depends on both Kaname and Lily whether this planet will be destroyed or not." Amaterasu said.

"But, don't you have the power to predict the future? Don't you know what destiny awaits the world and its people?" The subordinate said.

"I do. I have a clear view of what is to happen. But always have this in mind: destiny can sometimes be changed based on the decisions one makes. My predictions of the future sometimes become a blur. So I won't tell you the future that awaits us currently. However, I can say this: many challenges await Lily now. She bears the sins of the vampires she killed and also the sins of the people. Eventually she will begin to grow weaker, even if Kaname admits his feelings to her because those sins she bears is what will trigger the destruction of the world. To free her from her pain and save the world from destruction, Kaname will have to kill her."

"But sir, didn't the Adachi family curse state that if her eternal soulmate is found and he professes his love for her on the night of her 18th birthday, she will be saved from the destiny of death?"

"Yes. That is what is stated. But... In cases like Lily's, when one falls in love with a vampire, there is more to the curse. Like I explained to you previously, on the night of her 18th birthday, the world will be at risk if Kaname doesn't kill her."

"Why did you curse her, Amaterasu? You know her past life was miserable. She was forbidden to be with Kaname, and then you sentenced her to execution. Can't you just give her a bit of happiness?"

"People must face challenges in their life. Life isn't just a world of happiness. If Lily truly wishes to be with him, then she and him both will find a way to stop the curse." Amaterasu said, both hands behind his back.

After that, there was silence between them, and they continued to watch.

*Seira's PoV*

Aido and I continued enjoying the masquerade ball, but I haven't seen Lily and Kaname anywhere.

"Hey, Seira. Everything alright?" Aido said, putting a hand on on my shoulder.

"Have you seen Kaname and Lily? I haven't seen them anywhere after the announcement. I saw her get a call, but then I didn't see her again." I said.

"Oh...well. Um, they left. I saw them both saying their goodbyes to Michiko, and well, Lily looked very down."

"Down? Why?" I said.

"I don't know why. Lord Kaname just told me he and Lily were leaving, that's all." He said.

That's weird... Does it have to do with her curse? I have to go to where Lily is right now.

"Aido, will you come with me?" I said holding out my hand.

He blushed red. "O-of course! I will go! I have to be there for Lord Kaname's lover as well!"

"Good. Let's go!" I said happily.

"...And, Seira...?"

"Yes?" I said as I turned around.

"Can you call me Hanabusa..? It's kind of weird for me to call you Seira, but you call me by my last name..." He said, looking away with a light red blush on his face.

He's right... I then blushed as well.

"All right, Hanabusa..." I said with a small smile.

"Do you know where the beach house they are staying at is?" He said.

"Yeah. Lily told me. Now come on!" I said with a smile.

Hanabusa and I then snuck out of the masquerade ball on our way to Kaname and Lily's beach house.

*Lily's PoV*

Kaname and I went inside and we began packing to leave in the afternoon tomorrow. I already changed back into my casual clothes as well. Wait... Can't I bring Father back to life using my healing powers?

Kaname came back into our room with a cup of milk.

"You cannot, Lily." He said, coming into the room.

"When someone has already left this world, it is already too late. Once they die, it isn't possible to bring them back to life. Here. This can help you calm down a bit more." He said with a kind smile.

"Thank you.." I said as I took a small sip.

"I'm sorry we couldn't spend more time together." I said.

"It's fine. This is very important. As long as we have each other, things are going to be ok." He said.

I nodded my head. "Yeah, you're right."

"Let's enjoy our last night of vacation. We haven't used the swimming pool yet, why don't we go for an evening swim? Just to refresh ourselves in this warm evening."

I do want to refresh myself as well. It is kind of a warm evening.

"All right. Let's go." I said with a smile.

The both of us got dressed in our swimsuits. Mine was a two piece white bikini, and Kaname was wearing a black swimsuit, with a white shirt on. We made our way outside to the pool.

"So... Would you like to go in first, Lily, or.."

Smirking, I pushed him into the pool interrupting his sentence.

He got up from underwater, and smirked.

"Your turn." He said, using his telekinesis, pushing me into the water.

"Kyaaaa!" I screamed as he pushed me into the water.

I then began to splash water at him and he began to do the same thing.

He had an authentic, pure smile on his face, one that made me feel happy.

"Your such a sly girl, Lily." He smirked as he brought me closer to him.

He then quickly brought our lips together for a kiss.

I felt happiness that Kaname is giving me his love and the fact that he is by my side. However, the loss of my father is causing me a lot of pain. So this was something bittersweet.

"Umm... Are we interrupting something?" Seira said, with Aido by her side. She was still wearing her dress from the masquerade ball.

"Aido, Seira. What brings the both of you here?" Kaname said.

"I was worried. Hanabusa told me about how Lily was upset and you both had to leave the ball on a short notice."

"Oh...well..." I said, at a loss of words.

"I think since she's here, she has the right to know, Lily. She is your sister after all." Kaname said.

I nodded my head.

"Wait, what are the both of you talking about?" She said, confused.

The both of us got out of the pool, and we sat at the chairs.

"Have a seat." Kaname said.

"This is the reason why we left. Lily will tell you what happened." Kaname said.

The upset feelings were returning to me. But I took a deep breath. "Seira...our father, he's...."

"He's what?" She said.

Kaname put his hand on my shoulder and I softly and quietly said the word.

"Gone..."

"You mean a mission? Well that's normal, why were you-"

I then cut her off.

"No, Seira. I mean he died... He's gone from this world..." I said on the verge of tears.

Seira's eyes widened, and her eyes began to water up.

"Lily, d-don't joke like that. You know I don't like those kind of jokes." She said.

"I'm not lying. I received a call from the doctor at the ball, and he told me that Father died from major blood loss during a mission. I was on the verge of crying my eyes out, so Kaname took me back here." I said.

"No... Dad..." Seira said, her hands on her face.

"Seira..." Aido said, putting his hand on her shoulder.

She quickly embraced him, bawling her eyes out and what surprised me was that he was hugging her back.

After she let her feelings go, she talked. "So.. Do we have to go back home?" 

I nodded my head. "Yes, we leave tomorrow afternoon. I'll explain the details to you tomorrow. For now, you should get back to your hotel room and get some rest." I said.

She nodded as well. "All right."

"Umm, Lily? Is it fine if I accompany you all tomorrow?" Aido said.

"Yes, of course you can. Someone needs to be by Seira's side..." I said with a small smile.

"Yeah..." He said, looking away.

A few minutes later, Aido and Seira left our beach house and the both of us just sat there, quietly.

"She was heartbroken... She even screamed out his name as she cried.." Kaname said sadly.

"It's because she is the youngest of all of us. She was the closest to Dad, and sometimes she would go on risky missions with him, simply because she wanted to spend time with him. You could say she was Daddy's little princess.." I said.

"Really... Well, usually the youngest child acts that way. Tomorrow is the day, do you want to go take a bath before bed?" He said.

I nodded my head.

The both of us then made our way back into the beach house, preparing ourselves for the next day...

*Hanabusa's PoV*

Seira did not want to go back to the hotel yet, as she just wanted to simply sit in silence and hear the roaring waves of the beach.

She stood a bit ahead, looking ahead to the beach. I stood a short distance away from her.

I sensed silent tears falling from her cheeks. I have to be there for her. I cannot let her go through this alone.

I slowly made my way up to her and she quickly looked back, and my eyes widened when I saw that tears were running down from her eyes.

"O-oh... I thought you went back to the hotel... I'm sorry for keeping you here for long." She said as she wiped her tears.

I've never seen this weak part of her... I don't know why, but I want to be with her and protect her, even though I still have my duties to protect Lord Kaname...

"Hey, Hanabusa.... Why did you say you would come with me?  You don't have to worry about me anymore. I won't be a bother to you, so why don't you just stay here and continue to enjoy your vacation?"

"No... It's just that I'm used to you being around me, it would be quiet not to even have you with me." I said, looking away.

"Tch, well... You still have your duty to protect Kaname."

"Exactly. One of the reasons to have to go with you. Lord Kaname is going with Lily, and well I have to protect him, and someone needs to be there for you too, right?"

"W-well, I have Daisuke, Hiroki, and Lily. I should be fine." She said, tears continuing to fall from her eyes.

Ugh.. She doesn't know my feelings for her are getting stronger, my desire to protect her and putting a smile on her face. I embraced her tightly.

"H-hey! What are you doing, Hanabusa?!"

"What else you think I'm doing? You did it back there as well. I'm trying to comfort you. I am what many think, a bloodthirsty monster, but just know that even so, I'm here for you as well. Don't bottle up your feelings just because I'm around. If you need to cry, then let go."

"Why...why are you being so nice to me, Hanabusa? I'm a murderer to you vampires. I kill your race as a part of my job. Shouldn't you hate me?"

"I can't come to hate you, no matter how much I try to. And plus you kill vampires that don't follow rules. Seira. I want to be someone you can trust. Please know that I'm here for you." I spoke sincerely.

"Hanabusa..."

We then broke the embrace, and looked into her dark green eyes, and I then went back to my usual self.

"Now, come on! You need to get some rest for tomorrow. It's going to be a long trip back home!" I said as I slowly pushed her, changing the mood.

"All right, all right! Don't rush me!"She said with a smile.

*Maria's PoV*

Once again, I stood at the window, looking up to the night sky. So... one of the legendary vampire hunters, Kazuki Adachi has passed.... Both he and Rido Kuran, gone... Well, I must thank Kazuki for getting him out of the way.

Heh. Well. That should weaken Lily a bit. They must be going back to Cross Academy, due to this...I then made my decision.

"Ichiru... Why don't we go back with them? This is getting a bit boring, plus there's only three days left. Plus.. This is no fun. I wanna go where all the action is..."

"Of course, Lady Shizuka. Let's make the preparations right away."

The fun will begin soon... I can't wait!

*Yuuki's PoV*

"Can't sleep, Yuuki?" Yori said.

"I guess not... I'm so used to Disciplinary Committee duties, sometimes I forget that we are on vacation...."

Honestly, I can't sleep because of what Kaname told me the other morning. Lily's got him all brainwashed. Just because they shared a past life together, doesn't mean that they should be together now! And Zero has feelings for her as well, and he avoids me too!

"Yuuki, forget about school for a bit, and just enjoy these last three days. You'll be back on duty before you know it."

I then fake smiled. "Hehe, yes. I guess you're right..."

I hate Lily so much... She took the people that mattered the most from me away...

I thought this as I fell asleep.

*Lily's PoV*

The both of us laid in bed, and Kaname was already sound asleep. My chest... It hurts. I feel the envy of a human, but this one is so strong... Who is this person..?

I got up from bed to look out the window, and I see something that I haven't seen in so long..

Ayakashi...

They're roaming around the beach... But how is this possible? They were defeated and dealt with 9,000 years ago. Even with this pain, I must go and destroy them...

I quickly took Golden Artemis and made my way outside.

I jumped high into the air until I landed on the soft sand of the beach.

Ayakashi project hate, anger, despair, jealousy... They are formed depending on people's strong negative feelings.. However in the Ishigaki Islands, this shouldn't even exist because people here aren't that negative...

"Stop it right there, Ayakashi!" I said.

One of them spoke.

"How sad... To think that you are to be killed by the man you love..."

What are they talking about? This is nonsense!

I swung Artemis at them and one by one they began to fade away.

"Do you not understand that because of you, the world will end? You are putting so many innocent people's lives at risk!"

"Stop sputtering nonsense, Ayakashi!" I said angrily.

"We are not. There is more to the curse that you just don't understand."

I spun Artemis around in a circle and eliminated almost the entire horde. Only one remained, and I can tell he was smiling evilly at me.

"You're such a hypocrite, Lily Adachi. You only care about your benefits, and not the benefits of the people. You're going to kill innocent people. You and Kaname Kuran both, if you don't let him take your life away. All you need to do is give your life to him to save the world. He will devour your soul, and your soul will be within him forever....Isn't that nice? That way, you'll be with him forever... Even after death..."

Anger began to boil up in me.

"Shut up. SHUT UP!!!!" I screamed angrily as I swung Artemis to its neck. It quickly faded away.

"Hehehe... Death is your only escape, reincarnation of Kira Adachi.... That is the other part to your curse that you never found out... Becoming one with him foreshadows the end of the world..." It said as it faded into the wind.

I bent to the ground, and grabbed the sand into my fists. That's a lie. That's not true! That Ayakashi was just playing with my feelings. Trying to anger me...

"Lily?! What happened?!" Kaname said running up to me worriedly and bending down to my level as well.

"Kaname... Ayakashi monsters have returned. And one of them told me that either way, death awaits me... "

He looked a bit angry, as the waves of the ocean got even stronger and his eyes glowed red.

"Did those things say anything else?" He said angrily.

"He said that if we become one, it foreshadows the end of the world. That there is more to the curse..." I said.

"That cannot be true. I'm not going to believe it, not one bit." He said as he embraced me tightly.

"I will protect you, Lily... I won't let anyone get in between us." He said passionately as we broke apart from our embrace.

His eyes then looked deeply into mine.

His lips approached mine and they then met for a passionate kiss.

For a second, I felt like the both of us were in heaven. The both of us were bent on the ground in our knees, holding each other tightly, not wanting to let go..

Could it be true? Will Kaname eventually have to kill me to save the world? There was that dream as well... The town was covered in deep flames...
