CRAM Chapter 19-At Night, Where Everything Ended Well
{Natsu}
"Natsu!!!!"
"Wendy. What is it?"
"Father has something to tell us. Come on!"
We entered father's office quietly. "Father, we've come. Do you need anything?"
"No, I don't need anything. I just have something to tell you." He faced us, smirking. What's with that smirk? It's creeping me out. We stayed silent so he could go on. "We're going on a trip to Paris." Paris? That's a long trip. But how about school? "I've already told the teachers that we'll be gone for three years."
"For three years?!" I exclaimed. That's a long vacation! Everybody’ll miss me!
"Kidding. Just for 2 weeks." Wendy and I sighed. "We are going with the Heartfilia family." I felt like my blood went out of my body. We nodded and went out of father's office.
"Hey Natsu. Can I invite Romeo-san?" She blushed. Is my step sister in love?
"Sure thing." I responsed.
She grinned at me and skipped towards her room. I sighed. Lucy's coming with us. But... we're in a fight. We can't get along. I can't enjoy for now.
Maybe I'd just tell father that I have a cancer. Nah, what a lame excuse. Guess I'd really have to come whether I like it or not.
◇◆◇◆
"Faster, son!" Igneel demanded from downstairs.
"I'm coming!"
I packed up my things quicker. I put them in the bag like some kind of paper work that isn't that important.
"Aren't you coming?" Wendy put her hands in her pockets, fidgeting. But why is she fidgeting?
"Why are you nervous?"
She became flattered all of a sudden. "Just pack up. Dad said we're leaving." She then left my room. Flattered. Hm. Excited. Romeo Conbolt I summon you thee. Wendy is so excited she's becoming impatient.
I finished packing up. I was done zipping my bag when someone opened the door of my bedroom. Lucy. I'm mad at her and—
"Hi." I couldn't help it. Mouth, why are you so active?
"Hi your face." So cold. She grabbed my bag away from me and left my room. I was dumbstruck for a moment when I realized we're leaving.
"What took you so long? I'm so irritated I could've sworn I almost slapped my face hard just to make you come down." Dad scolded. What's with people today? Why so impatient?
"Come on now, Mr. Dragneel—I mean, Dad. We must just enjoy the day." Lucy smiled. Oh, how I missed her smile. I wish she could smile at me like that. But she can’t. After what I told her, I’m sure she’s still hopping mad.
"Thank you, dear."
"Ah, now let's enjoy the day." Mrs. Layla—I mean mom—skipped towards the van. Everyone followed after her... well, except for Lucy and I.
"What are you still doing here?" We both asked.
"Jinks!"
"Double Jinks."
"Triple Jinks."
"Infinity Jinks!!!" We both laughed. Bestfriends, I say. No, I want lovers.
"Lucy, I'm sorry."
"Uh, but first, why won't you expla—"
"What the heck are you two still doing here?" I saw Romeo cocking his eyebrow at us. The moment was ruined. How cruel. Oh, and what's this? Wendy's with Romeo? I smell something fishy in here. There's something I don't know that I need to know.
"Never mind. Explain it at the villa." Lucy pulled me by the hand. I smiled. I guess she already forgave me. "I haven't forgiven you." Just like I thought, right guys?
◇◆◇◆
Blegh! I hate vehicles. They make me sick!
But for today, just for today, I love the vehicle. I can put my head in Lucy's shoulder anytime I want. Yep, she's beside me. And that's what you call "Taking Advantage". Now I'm contented.
Maybe I could use some sleep. I don't want to puke at Lucy or she'll never forgive me anymore.
I woke up feeling dizzy. I looked at the window beside me and found out that it was already dark. I think I overslept.
"Hey, Natsu. Maybe you could explain everything here—quietly." Lucy tapped me. "Don't worry, you could explain it clearly to me. The flight attendant gave you medicine for motion sickness."
I nodded and started the story, "I... got jealous. You see, I caught a glimpse of you, Sting, and Yukino altogether. I thought, why were you with Sting? He has Yukino already, right? I thought Sting was two-timing, so I decided to teach him a lesson. So tell me, why are you with the two of them?"
Lucy pointed at herself, confused. "Me? I.. needed some advice about something."
"What is it?"
"Something private."
"Oh, come on tell me. I should know it too."
"If you were the right one for me."
"I... was the right one for you? You asked them if I was the right one for you?"
"Well, yeah. I was doubting if you will be forever by my side. There are so many girls prettier than me. And there's Lisanna too, so—"
I gave her a light punch on her shoulder. "Silly. I'm not like that, you know? I do not hurt girls. They're sensitive, so why hurt them? And besides, you know that I have moved on from Lisanna, right? So stop doubting me. Anyways, answer?"
"Huh? What answer?"
"Oh Lucy don't play dumb. If you could be my girl?" It took a moment for her to react. Her cheeks became dusted with pink.
"I am still thinking about it." How long is she gonna think about it? I just gazed at the clouds. Ah, they make me sleepy again. I yawned.
"Feeling spiffy? I mean, sleepy? Oh now I'm being Millianna." I chuckled at her. I nodded and she gestured at me to sleep in her shoulders. This is gonna be a long trip.
◇◆◇◆
"Passengers, please get your luggage at the counter."
Wendy stretched her arms. "Ah, that was a long trip, ne Romeo?"
"Yeah. I think I sleeped althroughout the trip."
Lucy smirked when she saw the little love birds chatting and thought, "Oh, teenagers these days." She shook her head, chuckling.
I noticed this and I raised an eyebrow at my soon-to-be-bride. Yes, not just my soon-to-be-girlfriend. And I've gotta take one more step closer.
Anyways, back to the story. I tapped her shoulders and asked her on why she was giggling like a little child. No, wait, more like fangirling. She told me that she was just thinking about food, but she can't fool me. I know she loves food, but I know she's not the type to fangirl on such thing. But I just shrugged it off.
Blondie stopped in a booth which also made me stop. A booth selling rice balls. Those looks delicious. I saw Lucy drool.
"Want some?" I smiled at her playfully. She nodded energetically. "Then go buy some." She glared at my response. I laughed out loud. "Kidding. Come, let's buy some." I intertwined our hands then bought rice balls for the two of us.
I ate happily (and with gluttony).
"Aaaand there it goes. My rice ball fell. Dang it, I'm hungry!" I glanced to beside me only to see Lucy whining over her rice ball.
I held out my rice ball, "Here, eat up. I'm not that hungry anyways." Lies. Lies. Lies! I'm so hungry that my stomach is growling! But never mind. If it is for the one I love I'd be willing to sacrifice my rice ball.
◇◆◇◆
We finally arrived at a villa, which I assume dad owns. And I gotta tell 'ya, it's huge and spacious I even think an airport can fit in here.
Also, Paris is wonderful! I can't wait for the sunset. The lights from the city are breathtaking at night.
Time check: 5:49 PM. Approximately 10 more minutes before the sun sets.
Nine minutes....
Eight...
Seven...
Six...
Five, Four, Three, Two, One...
And the sun sets.
"Hey. The sun's pretty." I turned to see Lucy smiling at the sun, her face becoming the color of the sun itself just by facing it.
"Yeah." I said almost out of breath. Then I suddenly remembered something. "That reminds me," I started which made her look at me, "Tomorrow is the end of the fake girlfriend thingy. So, I've been waiting long enough. What's your answer?"
I can see her face becoming pink. "Uh, yes."
It took some time for me to process it. When I recovered, I jumped in joy. "Really?! Oh, thank you!" Now I couldn't help it. I hugged her tightly.
She looked at me smugly, "Hey mister, you're taking advantage of the moment."
I gave her a big smirk, "But admit it, you like it." She became quiet. Oh well, silence means yes.
We both looked at the sun setting. Ah, so beautiful.
After the sun had set, we saw the wonders of Paris at night. We both gasped in amazement.
Oh, I almost forgot. I fished the necklace I haven't returned yet to her. "Close your eyes." She looked at me questionably but then still obeyed. I then locked the necklace around her neck. "Done."
She cocked an eyebrow at her necklace. "Why did you change—"
I smiled. "The keychain? A yellow flame, with red outlining symbolizes that I'm in love with my best friend. Just like a flower petal..." She smiled genuinely at my explanation and hugged me.
I glanced at my phone which I rarely use. I clicked the camera and took a picture of us. Fortunately, our background was the paris lights. What a pretty sight. I changed my wallpaper into the picture we just took.
I then checked the calendar and saw that today is June 18. It's getting dark. Thirteen more days and the vacation is over... wait a minute.
I've got an idea. I smirked at my mind. This is gonna be a fun vacation. Thirteen more days and there'll be a double celebration.
"Why smirk?" Lucy inquired. I shook my head and told her it was nothing.
