CRAM Chapter 12-Confirmed

Day after day passed and I still haven't talked to her since that day.

I don't know myself but whenever I see her I avoid her. For some reason, I get nervous when she's around.

Who is she? It's Lucy.

I know she noticed about me avoiding her but I can't help it. I feel really awkward.

And really, this is strange. I am not hurt when I hear about Lisanna and Bickslow. Actually, it's the other way around.

Well, maybe I'm immune to it.

"Tadaima!" Wendy and I exclaimed when we got home. (Tadaima=I'm home!)

"You got home pretty early." Mom smiled at us.

"Uhm, good evening." I heard Lucy which made me run upstairs.

Crap. I forgot to kiss mom on her cheeks. She's gonna get upset at me.

Well, at least I've got an explanation to her.

But.. no! There's a big possibility that she'll tell Aunt Layla! I must think of a more acceptable excuse.

Ah! There's this excuse I could always think of. :/

"Hi mom." I cooly greeted as I sat down in front of the dinner table. As expected, she just ignored me. But I smirked.

"Uh, mom. I did not kiss you in the cheeks earlier because Gajeel and I have a dual project. It will be passed tomorrow, so I started doing it—"

"Son, you're not good at lying." I became as pale as a white rose from what I heard from mom. "Tell me, what happened between you and Lucy?" I gulped when I heard blondie's name.

"Well... it started like this—"

"Mom! Dad's home!" I heard Wendy giggle.

"Hi Wendy. Hi, dear husband. Hi, Natsu. What's going on here? Why is the atmosphere so thick? Something happened?"

Mom looked at me and just shook her head at dad. He glanced suspiciously at us before sitting beside me as well as Wendy.

"Honey," Mom called after awhile. "The food we are eating right now is what Lucy cooked." I choked my food. It was delicious, but when I heard that blondie cooked it, I became shy, for some reason.

"Mom, I'm going up. I need to finish my assignments." This time, it wasn't a lie.

"Hey! The food..."

"I'll eat it tomorrow breakfast."

I was so bored so I decided to open my laptop.

Scrolling through my news feed, I saw a status.

Lucy Heartfilia = no need. :) it's alright.

I felt guilty. Why do I avoid her anyway? My conscience was bothering me.

"Natsu-san..." I heard Wendy's voice outside the door. I saw Happy and Carla teasing each other.

"Hm?"

"Mom said that you should meet Lucy-san. She was waiting for you outside so..."

"I get it. Thank you." As I said that, Wendy bowed and closed the door.

She's outside and she just posted a status on facebook? Well, that was fast.

"Uhm... hi." I waved as soon as I saw her.

"I just... wanna talk to you about something...?"

I froze. "A-A-About what?"

"You... and I?" I gulped, feeling anxious.

"S-Sure. What about it?"

"I was thinking if you were maybe... avoiding me and all..." I glanced at the bush beside me.

I sighed, "Yes... because I feel awkward."

"You know... we're friends. I don't want us feeling awkward and all. Just... forget about it. We're friends—and nothing can ever change that."

"Okay... no awkward moments?" I inquired, showing my right hand in front of her so we could shake hands.

She grinned at me. "No awkward moments."

And there. We started tickling each other.

"Ne, ne, Natsu!" Happy tapped me, pointing his finger at Lucy, Wendy, and Carla. "Aren't they pretty?" I saw Lucy in a white dress and a yellow headband, Carla in a formal wear, and Wendy in a sea green dress.

Today is the birthday of Gray, and we were invited to his 18th birthday.

"But I know that the prettiest for you is Carla." I snickered.

"Of course!" he then munched on a fish.

Ehem, for me, the prettiest is Lucy besides Wendy. Sure, Carla is also cute.

"Attention, everyone. You can enter the venue when you have a partner."

Partner?

I then saw a short, white-haired girl in a brown dress. Lisanna.

She wasn't with Bickslow, and she was also like a lost puppy.

I was just about to come near her when blondie called my attention.

"Hey, pinky. I need a partner. Mind if I became your partner?" I just nodded, still looking at Lisanna.

Then Bickslow came. I tried to listen to their conversation even in a noisy crowd.

"Lisanna. Sorry I was late. It was traffic."

"No, no, no. It's okay. Come on now." and she clung to his arms.

"Hey. Are you even listening to me?" I turned my attention to Lucy who was now cocking her eyebrow at me.

"Oh. Sorry. What were you even saying?"

"Never mind. Anyways, wanna go grab some drink?" I nodded and I followed her.

So... yeah. The party has started. Everyone was shouting and dancing wildly.

Lucy, seeing that she has this talent called dance, also joined the party.

And I was the only one left, guarding our belongings.

"Yo. How are you?" I looked up only to see Gray in a tuxedo.

"Always fine—"

"And still in love with Lisanna," I just shrugged which made him stare at me.

"What's with the staring?"

"What's with the shrug?"

We both have our eyes in big circles. And we can have conversations.

Gray: What is with you, shrugging? Don't you love her anymore?

Me: No! Just confused...

Gray: Confused....? About what?

Me: About—

"Kyaaaaa~!" We stopped chatting when an ear piercing sound emerged from nowhere. A slap can be heared after the scream, causing the music to die down, and for the people to stop dancing.

"Pervert!" I glanced around and saw Lucy with a man in front of her. The man's face was as red as a tomato, probably from the slap Lucy made.

But I can't just watch this whole scene.

"Are you okay?" I asked, worried.

She turned to me. "What?!"

After a brief moment, she realized that it was me. "Oops, sorry."

"It's okay."

Now murmurs were heard.

"Hey, isn't that Lucy Heartfilia and Natsu Dragneel of Fairy Academy?"

"Yeah. They're in a relationship, right? Maybe Lucy got mad at Natsu for some reason, and—"

"Shut up, people." I hissed. "She's just my friend, nothing... else."

I don't know why I almost trailed off on the last word of my sentence.

Okay, maybe because I've got a little crush on Lucy Heartfilia.

But it's just a little crush, peeps!
