this is a message from rose-in-the-present, because i wrote this story over a year ago. i had a note at the top of one of the chapters, though i thought i would update it here:

this is a mature rated story. for this particular story, that means there is sexually explicit content. for my own comfort, please click away if you are under the age of 18.

i know that won't mean anything to the people i'm addressing—i've seen the stats, i know that 15% of this fic's readers are between the ages of 13-17. i know that outside of the warnings, this story is freely available for whoever wants to proceed regardless of what i say. but still, i might as well give it a shot.

in the world of fic writing, i am giving a service—i'm a busy person, i balance work and a full semester of classes, but i still try to get content out whenever i can. regardless, i do this work for free for others to enjoy. if i set a boundary, stating that i am uncomfortable with minors reading my sexually explicit content, and readers choose to cross that boundary, it's simply straight up disrespectful. it tells me that you feel entitled to my works, but you don't want to show respect to me as the person behind them.

i am entitled to my boundaries; you are not entitled to cross them. if you're not mature enough to respect that, you're not mature enough to read mature works.

i have tried to be nice in the past—i care about my readers, and i never want to be mean. but the comments i've been getting have been deeply unsettling to me. having to "mentally prepare" yourself for smut and rereading my fic to desensitize yourself to nsfw content is never what i wanted when making this fic.

so please, don't read this story if you're a minor. if you do, and i find out, you will be blocked and no longer able to access this story.

you might think this sounds stupid or unfair now, but hopefully you'll understand in the future.

i have plenty of sfw (safe for work) works if you want to check those out.
