Lunch Line

As you walked towards the mess hall with your new friends, you couldn't help but admire the lush green trees and the clear blue lake that surrounded the camp. The atmosphere was peaceful and serene, a perfect place to escape the chaos of the city.

As you entered the mess hall, you were greeted by the delicious aroma of freshly cooked food.

Mina, being the friendly and outgoing person that she is, dragged you over to a lunch table where three girls sat.

Quickly, Mina immediately started to introduce you to the other girls in the camp.

"Hey everyone, this is my friend Y/n. She's new," Mina exclaimed excitedly. Mina took your wrist and pulled you over to the first girl, "Y/n, this Hagakure. Hagakure, Y/n."

You stood there for a moment, trying to comprehend for a second but then realized Hagakure was invisible.

The first girl she introduced you to was Hagakure, she was invisible but that didn't make her any different from a normal girl. She was a cheerful and bubbly girl who quickly greeted you and welcomed you with open arms, which made you feel a bit at ease.

"Welcome," she squealed as she squeezed you in her arms.

You gave her a sheepish smile in response as she swayed you side to side.

Mina broke the hug after it felt like it was going on for too long. She sat herself down at the table and pulled you down with her, making you sit next to her.

Momo and Uraraka sat on the opposite side of the table, already talking with Hagakure and a green haired girl.

"Asui, meet Y/n," Mina said.

Asui looked from Mina to you responding, "hi, *ribbit* " Asui seemed like a quiet and reserved girl who seemed to be in tune with nature. She gave you a warm smile and you could tell that she was genuinely happy to meet you.

Lastly, Mina introduced you to a purple haired girl.

"Y/n that's Jiro, she's awesome with whatever instrument you give her, you could even give her a mic and she could sing," Mina bragged.

Jiro rolled her eyes with a small smile on her face, she must've like the way Mina introduced her to you.

You found out that Jiro was a cool and confident girl who had a passion for music. She immediately struck up a conversation with you about your favorite bands and you couldn't help but respond back, you definitely knew that she was more than cool.

"Welp," Mina stated as she stood up, everyone watching her as she did. "I'm gonna get lunch, anyone want to come?"

Hagakure, Asui, and Jiro shook their heads since they already got their lunch while Momo, and Uraraka just wanted to wait a bit until it cooled down and they caught up with the other girls.

Mina pouted, clearly not wanting to go in line alone.

You stood up, "I'll go with you, I'm starving," you told Mina.

Mina shot up with a smile, her eyes glinting with happiness. She shouted, "ok!", and grabbed your hand.

Mina was now dragging you by the hand, eager to get to in the line for lunch. She had warned you during the walk that if you both didn't get there quickly, all the good food would be gone and you would be stuck with the leftovers.

You couldn't help but laugh at her enthusiasm as the two of you weaved through the mess hall, dodging campers and counselors in the sea of people.

As you approached the line you could see that Mina's fears were not unfounded. The line was already snaking around the mess hall, with campers eagerly waiting for their turn to grab a plate of food.

Mina let go of your hand and bolted towards the line, determined to secure a good spot.

You followed close behind, trying to keep up with her energetic pace. You both finally made it to the end of the line and joined the group of campers chatting and laughing as they waited.

You were just starting to relax and enjoy the lively atmosphere when someone tapped you on the shoulder. You turned around to see Kirishima, the friend you had made earlier during bag pickup. "Hey, what's up?" You asked, happy to see a familiar face in the sea of strangers.

Kirishima flashed you a smile and said, "I just wanted to say hi and see if you wanted to sit together for lunch."

You glanced over at Mina, who was still engrossed in a conversation with some other campers. You wanted to ask her but you could see that she was focused solely on the conversation, you didn't want to interrupt her.

You turned back to Kirishima with a smile on your face. "I'd love to," you replied, grateful for the company.

Kirishima's smile grew even wider, audibly trying to spend some time with you. "Awesome! I'll introduce you to the others, they'll love to meet you."

"Introduce who?" A voice said.

You turned around to see Mina standing there with a look on her face, the look consisted of a raised eyebrow and a not smiling face, she almost looked like Bakugo earlier with his scowl.

"I'm just going to go over to Kirishima's table," you explained.

Mina scoffed, "with our rivals, I bet they're trying to get in our heads earlier, starting with the newest."

Your eyes widened in surprise at the assumption. You looked over to Kirishima to see him as surprised as you, he shrugged at you and looked back to Mina.

"We aren't trying to do anything, I just want to get to know Y/n more."

"Says the one who got one of my teammates to work for you."

"What? That wasn't even me, that was her choice to lose the games," Kirishima defended.

Your eyes darted back and forth at the two arguing, you couldn't believe you were being fought over. It was bad and good at the same time, it did feel nice to be wanted.

But you knew you couldn't let it go any farther, you instinctively placed a hand on Mina's shoulder and spoke of a compromise. "I'll just go say hi, talk for a while and then I'll come back. Plus, I'd never switch sides," you stated.

Mina slowly looked from Kirishima over to you, her features softened slightly and she groaned, caving in and responding, "sure...I shouldn't stop you, that's not friend like."

Your eyes widened in surprise more, you had a friend, she even said it herself. Your heart swelled at the thought of having an actual friend, maybe even a best friend. "Uh, Mina."

"Hmm?"

"It's your turn," you told her, pointing to the lunch lady impatiently waiting.

Mina turned to the lady, her cheeks turning a deeper pink than her normal skin tone, "sorry," she apologized repeatedly.

The lunch lady deeply inhaled for a moment before she responded, "just choose."

Mina apologized again before she started her meal choices.

You chatted with Kirishima and caught up from when you had separated as you waited in line.

As you both filled your plates with delicious food, Kirishima told you about his experience at camp from last year and also so far while you shared out the new experiences. Kirishima made you laugh a bunch of times with his jokes, some were dumb but they were funny, and it felt like you both enjoying each other's company.

By the time you reached the front of the line to finish out your meal, you felt that your bond with him had grown stronger and you were definitely excited to spend more time with Kirishima during the rest of camp.

"See ya later," you told Mina as you walked beside Kirishima.

Mina sadly waved at you, you now you had noticed that Mina had seemed a bit quiet during the time in line, which was unusual for her.

You just shrugged it off and kept on walking with Kirishima, still talking to him.

"I think you're a canoeing kind of person," Kirishima said as he squished through a small crowd of people, making a path for you to follow.

You smirked at the comment, "not really, I've never done it and I don't think I'd like to," you answered.

Kirishima looked back at you, looking a bit surprised. "Really? I think you have the essence for it, I should take you sometime."

You looked down a at your plate, your smirk widening even if you don't want it to. "I think I'd like that."
