The forest glowed.

Which couldn't have been a normal thing.

"Holly!" Landon dashed after her. He tripped over a tree branch, tumbling down the hill.

At the bottom rested a little peak where one could get a good view of the entire camp. Holly and Landon were lucky that they didn't topple over the edge.

The forest around them glowed, rainbow waves emerging from the trees, a strange energy thick in the air. Holly noticed none of it, rubbing her head. Landon landed on top of her.

"Geez, I know you were worried but you didn't have to Princess Bride right after me did ya, Landon?" Holly winced.

"I understood that reference!" Chirped Rory, happily as she caught up with the two. The rest of the group followed.

"And I understood that reference!" Selina grinned at Rory. "I love The Avengers!"

Rory's cheeks turned pink as she nodded.

"The forest is glowing and you guys are concerned with movie references?" David exclaimed.

Holly's eyes shot open. She glanced around. They were standing in the middle of a vibrant beam of light, one that was most definitely not coming from the sun. Holly gapped.

"Holly might have a concussion. We can worry about the rest later. Does anyone have a first aid kit?" Landon asked, gently examining Holly's head.

She shoved him off. "Lan, I'm fine! MAGIC IS HAPPENING!"

"I wouldn't say magic." Selina rolled her eyes.

Rory, Sam, and Elora gasped, grinning.

"I would!" Sam said. "This is definitely paranormal."

"There could be a logic explanation for this- Like the northern lights! Perhaps it's just-" David began to say.

"Shush, nerd boy. Magic is happening." Elora squealed.

Holly leapt to her feet, dashing to a circle of round rocks. Ten stones, seven gray, three black, all perfectly round. Far too oddly arranged for it to be natural, right? She inspected each one closely.

"This could be some sort of, witches' meeting ground." She suggested.

"Ooh or a fairy circle!" Sam offered, running to where Holly was.

"Or a magic portal!" Elora said.

"You guys are losing your minds." Selina folded her arms. "There's no such thing as magic."

David raised an eyebrow. "I thought you liked Dr. Strange."

"I do. I mean, he's not my favorite. But I like him. But that doesn't mean I believe magic's real just cause of some comic books. That's ludicrous." She scoffed in response.

Selina, David, and Landon were the only three who hung back, not inspecting the strange pattern of rocks.

The ground rumbled. Holly had sat on the tallest rock, which now quaked under her weight. She fell off, hitting her head on the hard ground once more.

"Holly!" Landon dashed over to her.

Dirt and branches cleared away from the middle of the stone formation. A round box popped up, protruding from the ground.

Holly leapt to her feet, ready to open it.

Landon shot her a glare. "Oh no you don't. You need to stop with all the dangerous stuff!"

Holly frowned.

Sam piped up. "We probably shouldn't touch it. Seven teens, alone in the woods? Could be cursed."

"I'll take that chance." Holly huffed.

"Oh no you don't." Landon leapt over Holly to reach the box before her.

He clicked it open.

Seven golden discs laid inside. The were cut, together almost forming a circle, but it missed three pieces.

Landon did a quick count, numbers piling up in his head. "Ten stones, ten plates but three missing I assume, seven total here... Seven of us."

Holly bounced excitedly. "This is our adventure, Lan!"

Landon reaches into the box, pulling out one of the plates. Triangular in shape with a little blue jewel sticking out of the top.

His vision blurred as he took the disc. Colors, numbers, stars... Odd symbols forced their way into Landon's mind.

Holly's eyes went wide as she noticed Landon stiffen up. She reached to yank the plate away.

With ease and experience, which he didn't truly have, he flipped her onto the ground. He dropped the plate.

That was a martial arts move he had no knowledge of learning.

The group stared at him.

"Guys," He said, breathing heavily. "I know Kung Fu."
