Twenty-Seven
I was supposed to make sure that we somehow made it into the castle.
Although, now that I think about it, I swear that Roche didn't think this through.
How was I supposed to explain to the people that the prince brought back me, and a real life ghost back, from his expedition to the coffin town?
And so we thought of a plan.
Finnick would take Gigi around the back of the castle, and sneak in from there, since he lived here his entire life, and I would take his place, probably causing a ruckus, and lead the guards away from the back so that they could get in.
Sounds simple, right?
No. No it doesn't, you idiot.
Because that plan led me here, where I am scaling the wall of the castle.
Why?
I am going to throw myself off, and cause a scene so that those two can get in. There was probably an easier way to cause a scene, by maybe a fight or just start crying in the middle of nowhere.
But the fight I probably won't win, and I'd be bruised, and those things hurt. And plus, I had to get on someone's nerves, and maybe have the person executed because they hurt the "prince".
And the crying one? I have an certain line that I won't cross, because that would be humiliating, and I will never do that.
And was scaling the wall a better idea?
No. No it wasn't.
But I am doing it anyways, because it won't cost me my pride in anyway.
I could already hear the people starting to realize that a certain someone was on the wall. I took a deep breath, and pretended to slip.

A figure watched as the boy fell off.
She didn't even bother blinking.
Going by her plan, everything should have been working, if only those two hadn't gotten sidetracked.
Venus and Moonshine were utterly useless to her.
They spent their time trying to scare some wee little shopkeeper, and didn't even do it right.
She flicked her hair from her eyes, and sneered.
She glanced at the letter in her hand, a small glint of bad intent shining in her eyes.
They should have been careful, because who knows when the king will switch sides.
She's always been operating in the shadows, letting her "friends" take the blame.
They can kill their respective people, but she wouldn't.
Because she knows better.
But of course, today is not the day.
Because she had a kingdom to overthrow.
But before that, she wanted to meet him. The real prince.
She turned away, and walked off.

Finnick and Gigi were trying to hurry.
They really were.
But the constant surge of people coming to see what happened at the castle walls were already pushing them back, until Finnick just gave up, retreated, and proceeded to camp in the corner of the alley.
"God, was it always this crowded?" Finnick groaned as he slumped down on the wall, "Stupid, stupid, stupidly stupid, I'm going to tell the King to change somethings around once I get back"
"The King?" Gigi scoffed, "Your dad, why so formal?"
"Oh yeah," Finnick looks away, "Uhm, yeah. Exactly. Yes, Exactly that"
Gigi pauses, "You aren't good at lying, like at all"
"Yeah, and you can shut up" Finnick snaps defensively, "None of your business whether I address the King by his title or not"
"Alright alright, you little pigeon" She raised her hands in surrender, "Any idea on how to get in?"
"We were going to get in through the back," He replied, "But I think the other guy created too much of a scene, and now people are going to be watching"
"That sucks," Gigi commented, trying to keep up with his blunt explanations and excuses.
"Indeed"
She laughs for a bit, and then tries to stop, and ends up choking on her laugh in the progress. It was like he had said something funny, but he really didn't.
"What?" He asked, sounding slightly annoyed, but an underlying bit of concern coming across in his frown, "You... Still fully functional?"
"Sorry- Haha," Gigi wheezed, "Just reminded me about- Haha, another friend of mine"
Finnick continued frowning, and looked away, "Yeah right. You're just laughing at me"
"No, no, I'm not, just that it's been a while since I heard someone say "iNdEeD" in that tone of voice" Gigi continued smiling brightly, as if she felt slightly better after laughing, "Alright then, how are we going to get in?"
"Well, I..." Finnick looks around, "I do know another way in, but..."
"There's the catch," Gigi muttered half-heartedly under her breath, "There's always a catch"
"Shush!" Finnick mimicked the shushing gesture with a slight grin on his face, "It needs us to walk right under the cliff near border with the Enchanted Forest, the one that is close to the river"
"And?"
"The Enchanted Forest is quite a place," He confesses, casting an uneasy glance at the trees on the other side of the river, "I've went there once, and they weren't exactly the most hospitable people. Creatures, I mean"
"Can't be that bad," Gigi comments, "You know, I died there. The people expressed pity when they first found me, and tried to help me, but to no avail. Still died didn't I?"
"Uh, yeah, I guess," Finnick tried to talk, but failed, "Maybe they just don't like me"
"Who could?" She asked. Finnick sputtered in mock surprise, "What- Why'd you say that-"
"You're always being an annoying pigeon, who would like hanging out with you?" Gigi paused before breaking out into laughter.
After a few moments of silence from the Spade Prince, he joined in.
Sure they got a few weird looks from the people nearby, but did they care? No.
It was the first time in a long time that either of them had laughed, or been happy at all.
Let them have their moment of complete ignorance and bliss.
...
...
...
Alright, Break time is over.
They remained there for a few more moments, insulting each other jokingly.
So it was no surprise that they didn't instantly see the person watching them from the forests.
The person had piercing green eyes, and a worried look on his face, as if he could feel that something was off.
The boy wore an old, flowing white robe with an red emblem of the sun, his long brown hair fanning out slightly.
Finnick was the first to realize that he was there, he stared at him, slightly awestruck. Gigi soon saw him too.
They all stayed there for a brief moment, before the boy turned head and ran back into the forest.
Finnick made a move to pursue the fleeing figure before Gigi promptly dragged him back, "Let him go, we have to meet up with Finn right now"
Finnick cast one look back at the forest.
He couldn't really put his finger on it, but he felt like he had seen the boy before.
Finnick sighed as he shook his head.
The person he thought the boy was dead. No way that Venus or Moonshine would let even one of them survive.
