"Are you 100% sure-?"

I looked up, staring at Joshiah's concerned face, "Yeah, man, I'm fine... Just kinda unsettled"

"How can you be more unsettled than me?" Joshiah asked, as we rushed off to meet the rest of the group, it seems like we've only met for a day, but it feels like forever, "I've watched over my friend's body, experienced another person being beat to the ground, and then my other friend acting weird"

"Let me guess, I'm the other friend"

Joshiah grabbed my shoulders when I tried to walk past him, "Tell me what's wrong, mate"

"Like I said, it's nothing," I shrugged, "Just some things I gotta think over"

"Joshiah! George!" Jedi came rushing out of the library, Annie and Star following in his awake, "What happened?"

Joshiah quickly explained the summary of the fight and the teachers, and then Jedi told us what they had been doing during that time.

"Don't you guys think we should check on Erica and Cole?" Annie suggested, pointing towards the infirmary, "Maybe Cole has woken up?"

We nodded in agreement before hurrying through the doors of the infirmary.

Erica was sitting up against the bed, looking completely unfazed as we walked in, "Oh hello! How were your searches? Cole also got up, and we had a talk about not angering the wrong people again, didn't we Cole?"  

Cole was pale, I could tell from first glance, but he was smiling, perhaps in a forced way, "How're you lads holding up?"

"Well, not very great," Annie said, "But I suppose we're going to fill you in on what happened"

While Annie gave them a quick recap on what they learned from Professor Akeldama, although that was after convincing Jedi that it was better to have us three in their plans.

"So you're telling us that our best course of action would be to learn and master whatever powers we all have," Erica gestured around, "And then go into the portal? Wouldn't Finn probably be dead by then?"

"Honestly," Jedi shrugged, "Chances are, if he has held onto life for this long, he can also wait a couple days"

Erica crossed her arms, a slight frown on her face, "Are you sure about that? Shouldn't we get going, like right now?"

"We're heavily under-experienced compared to Venus and Moonshine so our smartest choice would be to learn it ourselves and not alert any of the teachers or staff, as they would probably be trying to stop us from doing something that dangerous," Annie said, "It would be better if someone were to be able to help us get some books..."

Once again all eyes were on Jedi.

"Okay, okay, okay," Jedi waved his arms, "Why do all of you expect me to do it? It's not like the teachers like me at all, Professor Selenite absolutely despises me"

"Think about it," Erica smiled, "It's not like the teachers can do anything against a student asking for some books"

Jedi sighed, "Alright, alright, give me a break, let me take a day to get my head together. I'll get to it tomorrow"

"Meanwhile we wait, we can first figure out the different powers we have," Erica suggested, "So that we are not wasting time, someone pass me a piece of paper"

"Here," Joshiah passed her one of the already used forms that were to be discarded, "You got something to write with?"

"Well, what do you know," Erica shrugged, "Maybe I do have a pen or something on me that magically appeared while I was unconscious"

"Oh yeah, sorry-"

"Nah don't apologize," She smirked as she pulled out a pen from behind her, "I do have one"

After a second of silence, she added, "Gottem"

She looked around before continuing, "Okay, okay, enough of my jokes, I'll just make a list of powers we do know that we have"

"Just tell me your powers and I'll list it, alright?" Erica asked, "If you don't know then just don't say anything"

"Looks like we got some work to do," Annie commented peering over at the list, "There's at least five question marks"

"Ten actually" Jedi replied, "I dunno if you realized that"

"Oh shut up, we don't need to be specific, besides, I was just saying that there was a lot"

"Calm down you two," Joshiah sighs, "We've already got a lot to do, so Erica," He turns to look at the "hospitalized" patient , "Who are we starting with?"

"Most likely Jedi," She nods, "I'm currently still stuck here and he's the second on the list, Finn doesn't count because he's not here... Take him around, got up to every student, shake hands, and when you meet someone with the same power, you should feel a numbing pain, like being pricked by needles"

"Uhm... Annie go with Jedi," Erica gestured to the door, "Star and Joshiah got look for titles of the books that we might need..."

"Y'all should get going," She clapped her hands together, "Go go, off you go"

The door closed, and silence fell across the room, I remained standing while Cole and Erica were on the infirmary beds.

"Uhh.... Where do you think Rowan is? I thought he would be here in the infirmary...?" I asked, the silence was never a good thing in my opinion.

"Obviously, he's going to the actual hospital," Erica rolled her eyes as she twirled the pen in her fingers, "With such a major injury like that, the infirmary won't help"

She gestured to her head with one hand while the on wielding the pen went faster, "Concussion, brain damage, internal bleeding, maybe some emotional ones, trauma, PTSD, I dunno, never happened to me"

Cole let out a shaky breath from his corner.

"Oh yeah, Cole," Erica nodded in his direction, "Calm down man, you don't see me being like that"

He muttered something under his breath, while Erica turned her attention back to the conversation.

"You stayed behind because you wanted to know if I had something for you to do," Erica dropped the pen, "Well, lucky for you, I do"

"Remember the array that they mentioned?" I nodded slowly, "The portal? Well, figure out the specific markings, so we can make it once we're ready"

"You should be able to find out by entering the room that Annie talked about," Erica pointed out the window, "Knock over the vase, and enter the room, find the diagram that represents the array and then come back to me... Don't tell anyone, they might find it interesting and try to beat us to it"

"Don't bother to tell the others, they're already busy enough," Erica continued, "Well, get going, we'll talk together after Jedi has the books"

I pushed open the door, and the sunlight hit my face. The clouds were rolling across the sky, and it seemed like the perfect weather.

But here I am.
