Eighteen

"Do you actually think that the history of this place would have documented it?" Jedi asked, "I mean, it's probably considered 'minor' to the other events that happened here"

Annie tilted her head at him, "Like, at this camp?"

"No, Of course not," Jedi replied, "But just overall of the city"

Erica had stayed behind at the infirmary, as Cole was still unconscious, and that Joshiah and George were nowhere to be found.

"Hey, Star," Annie called, "You sure that the History Teacher is over here?"

I shrugged, "I ain't sure of anything at this point"

"Like exactly how sure that he would even know?" Jedi asked, "Like as sure as you guys guessing my height or as sure as the fact that the sun rises everyday?"

"Ehhh," I shrugged again, "Maybe the height one?"

Jedi groaned as I kicked open the library doors, "Shush, we're going into the library"

"Says the one that kicked open the door"

Annie rolled her eyes at our exchange but smiled regardless, "Alright, now let's find that teacher"

Jedi sighed, leading the way in, "You are all ready to turn the place upside-down and inside-out, but how about we just call for him? Wouldn't it be more polite than disturbing him without him knowing?"

"Shush, Jedi," Annie said, "But sure we can do that. Anyone remember his name?"

I shook my head, "He only teaches starting from the third year, and we ain't even second-years"

Annie turned to Jedi, who noticed her staring at him in an instant, "What? You expect me to be all knowing?"

"I mean, isn't that what you said you were?"

"I don't remember names," Jedi rolled his eyes, "Either way, he's professor Akeldama"

I peered at him, "Are you sure, boi? Our history teacher is named after the field of blood? Like quite literally?"

"I'm quite sure," Jedi replies, his tone even, "We met before at the library, aisle with the content about the Elven Uprising"

Annie rolled her eyes, "And you didn't thing about telling us? Lame- Professor Akeldama, may we have a word with you?"

Silence.

"I haven't had you in my class yet," Said the voice from our right, "First-years, I dare say?"

"Well, yes," Jedi said, but he hurried on, "Well, we need your help"

"Yes... What can I help you with?"

The professor stepped out of the shadows, his eyes white, and hair deep brown. He carried a frown on his face, waiting for the answer.

"We... Well, we need to know what happened here a century ago" Annie said, watching for any reactions.

"Ah... I believe I can indeed help you youngesters with it... Follow me" He strolled away at a brisk pace, moving to the end of the library.

"Alright, now... What would you like to know?"

"We would just like to know what happened at Camp Cypress at that time"

"Mhm... Well there was a plague and the wars, but Heatherwood stayed out of it... And we were doing our own things back then, we were studying the parallel universes and the dimension hopping..."

"We had just discover this new world, where time doesn't work consistently, and hour here could be a day there or vice versa. We sent seven students into the dimension, to report back. Well, they didn't come back..."

"Geoffrey, Eiran, Firizt, Bailey, Ankiah, and also Michia, they were bright kids, each taking an element. Dark, Wind, Light, Earth, Fire, and Water. They mostly kept things together in their little group. The last one was Gigi, her powers were meant to be confidential, and I will honor her wish..."

"Well, they didn't come back, and everyone deemed them dead, and life went on, no one bothered to find out what happened... Well, I did," The professor paused at the end of the library, "Now... Where is it?"

He reached out, tapping the wooden table and then knocked over the vase on the table.

There was a click, and the wall opened.

"Pardon the porcelain shards please, they will fix themselves soon enough," Professor Akeldama, walked into the hidden hall gesturing for us to come, "It will be better if I show you"

We eventually came to a room, glass tubes held themselves up, and a messy circle was in the middle.

"You've heard about the portals haven't you?" He nodded towards the drawings on the wall, "From Olek back at the mess hall, well most portals are easy to open and make" He pointed at each of the glass tubes, containing a different color, "But this one was different"

"This portal is made by either a ritual or a sacrificial group, as it needed an array drawn in human blood," He pointed to the circle in the center, "Although it is accessible use teleportation or spell-work, there is only a low possibility of it happening"

"The person would then have to make three cuts on themselves, representing their dream and aspiration and goal, and then wait for them to heal before standing in the middle and then calling for the archangels to open the portal,"  Professor Akeldama nodded slowly, "Then, as they go through the portal, they have the chance of gaining the favor of an archangel to call upon"

Jedi paused, "Cassiel, Zadkiel, Raphael, Gabriel, Michael-"

"Chamuel and Ariel," I finished, remembering the other names, "Those are the names of the archangels"

Professor Akeldama smiled, clearly pleased, "Finally, someone that knows. Well, Ariel is known as Anael, but that's not that much of a difference... Either way, the portal was complicated, and the test volunteers didn't return, and the world the portal leads to is a dangerous place, violence, and nothing is ever wrong..."

"You can commit a mass murder, and no one would bat an eye," Professor Akeldama sighed, "I suppose it was because of two leaders; two girls, around the age of 13 from what I heard. They were born in that world, learned forbidden magic, and had the plan to take over"

"I have this feeling that the students' disappearances were linked to the new rulers, but no one really bothered," Professor Akeldama said, his expressions neutral throughout the entire exchange, "I really can only help you this far, and this is as much as I can do-"

The screaming, and hurried footsteps startled us, the previous peace and silence was shattered.

"Wha- What's going on?" Jedi rushed back to into the main library, out of the hidden room, "What happened?"

"Venus and Moonshine?" Annie quickly followed, with me just behind, "Can't be, Star sealed them somewhere else..."

"It's someone else," Professor Akeldama said, slowly closing off the room, "Dark aura, seems like they're causing trouble... You better go"

Jedi rushed outside, pausing against the flow of students, "Who has a grudge against us now?"
