Marinette's POV (gosh I gotta start doing other people's POVs)
I sighed. Tikki nestled in my hair, munching on a cookie- and, unfortunately, getting lots of crumbs in my hair.
I looked up into the sky, my pale fingers tracing constellations in the pitch-black night.
A lot had changed in the past 24 hours.
~
I'd just swung away from my friends, my eyes brimming with tears. I jumped over buildings and climbed roofs until Camp Cheng was just a speck in the distance. Mid-swing, I looked back at the camp-
and smacked straight into a tree.
I'm not even kidding, a massive tree that stretched into the sky. I slammed straight into it. Now this is where things start to get bad.
I detransformed (why, at that point, I didn't know) and Tikki fell out of my earrings. Thankfully, I managed to catch her- right before I lost consciousness. The last thing I remembered was falling from the height of clouds before the lack of air got to me.
I woke with a start; my vision sliding in and out of focus. Two concerned faces of strangers loomed over me before I blacked out again.
I sat up abruptly. My stupid eyes wouldn't open, so I lay back down and tried using my other senses. I could smell something delicious wafting in through the room; I tasted something bitter in my mouth (I quickly spat it out); I could feel warm bedsheets under me and a heavy blanket draped over my body; and I could also hear faint voices. I projected most of my energy and honed in on their conversation.
"We have to help her."
"We can't! We've already promised we wouldn't-"
"I don't care, Felix! It's her, her."
"And I know, but if we do-"
"Listen, Fe, you don't get it, she-"
"Just listen to me, okay."
"FELIX, I DON'T CARE, I NEED TO HELP!"
"NO! I'M NOT GOING TO LOSE YOU AGAIN!"
Silence. I heard soft sobbing from the room and I decided to check it out. I stepped through the hallway and quickly took in my surroundings. I was in a tall mansion, and when I say tall, I mean tall. A staircase wound up and up and up and up and- well, you get the idea. The walls appeared to be made of- wood? The walls were wood, the stairs were wood, the doors were wood, the floors were wood-
Wait a minute. Is this the tree I slammed in to?
How the in the heck did I get here?
"We saw you slam into our home."
I-
"HOLY FRIGGING-" I screamed, jumping away. I was so absorbed into the -tree house? – that I didn't notice the sobbing had stopped and that two people (presumably the ones I'd heard arguing) had come to greet me.
"GEEZ LADY, DON'T DO THAT AGAIN! Uh, hold on, where's my heartbeat- oh yeah, there it is." I panted, hands on my knees.
A soft voice giggled. "Well I'm sorry if I wanted to see my sister."
Oh look, my heart stopped again.
"Excuse me?" I managed to stutter out, without looking up. "I don't have a sister."
Even though I couldn't bring myself to look at this person's face, I could tell she was truly worried. "You- you don't remember me?"
"No. D-do I know you?" And that's when I finally looked at her.
She was the spitting image of me. The same small face, the same bluebell eyes, the same pink lips- the only thing different about us was that her hair was far longer than mine, but even then, we still had the pigtails in common. (A/N: I'm sure by now you can tell who this is!)
As soon as I saw her, a rush of images ran through my head. They were all jumbled up and hazy, but I remember seeing her, that girl, prominent in each one. Suddenly it hit me- those were memories. My memories. They spilt through my head again.
(A/N: Okay, I gotta explain the next few parts. The sentences in bold, italics, and underlined are all snippets of memories. The normal text is the same as it's been throughout the whole story, the person's POV. Heh I'm so dramatic xD)
"Say hello to your sister!"
"Happy Birthday you too!"
"You're an amazing set of twins."
I clutched my head, bumping into the door behind me.
"We have to prepare."
"They're too young to be separated!"
"Don't leave me, Bridgette!"
Bridgette...
The one name ran through my brain again and again, getting louder and louder till I collapsed.
~
I sprung up, a disgusting smell overloading my senses.
Looking back on it, at least now I know how to wake someone up from unconsciousness.
"Bleurgh, what's that?" I gagged.
"Felix's socks, someone threw up all over them."
"Hey! Don't blame me if the cat couldn't bear the taste of your lasagna!" a new voice spoke. Again, this voice sounded familiar...
I looked up. "Bridgette?"
"Marinette..." She rushed up and enveloped me in a massive hug. I breathed in her scent of vanilla and hugged her back. The tears streaming down my face and onto her shoulder.
"My memory... it was wiped?"
"Yeah. Looks to be that way." My sister said, tears pouring down her cheeks too. "I'll explain later why it was wiped; you should be introduced to my friend." She let go of me and gestured to the person behind her.
I looked at the person behind her. "You're Felix, right? I don't think we've been properly introduced."
"You can drop the act. We know who you are, Ladybug."
All of a sudden, it felt like the wind had been knocked out of me. "I... I have no c-clue what you're talking a-about."
He unfolded his arms. "Seriously, Marinette, we know. You've had your Miraculous, and Tikki, since you were 14."
"How do you know about Tikki?"
(A/N: I just remembered, please don't be offended by this, but I strongly dislike OCs. But hey- it's just my opinion! I just feel like they sort of derive from the original story. But. Some people do use OCs, and use them well, however this isn't that kind of story. So, if you were looking for an OC in this story, I'm afraid you're not gonna get it. Sorry ;-; )
"Let's just say, we used to have some magic of our own." He held up a ring, and my sister held up a necklace, and they both were surrounded by a flash of bright white light (similar to my transformation, however their light wasn't pink). When the light faded, they were dressed in what looked like...armour?
(A/N: Think of it as like the amulet in Trollhunters, I'll give a vid of Jim's transformation below so you can see what's it's like. Just ignore the part where he fools around with his sword, the incantation (which I'll introduce later) and the part where the armour's too big for him. Also if I have time I'll draw their armour someday.)

I almost fainted. "What? How?"
"When we...last fought against Hawkmoth and Mayura-"
"Wait a second," my mind ran at a million miles an hour, "you've fought them before? When? How did we not know of-"
"Because we fought them here." My twin gestured around the tree. "They'd come here, to capture us, for they sensed the magic around here, and wanted to know what'd caused it. I..." she trailed off.
"She almost died." Felix gulped. "She did die."
I'd never seen any emotion on Felix's face before apart from impartial, and it scared the heck out of me.
"But then, how are you-"
"Alive?" Bridgette smiled ruefully. "As I learnt that day, all magic comes with a price. The necklace saved my life, however it is now bonded to me. It won't ever leave till I die."
"Wow. That's-"
"Hey, this shouldn't be too alarming! This isn't the worst of it! I've heard tell of an amulet in another realm, I think last I heard it chose a human for the first time ever, and he's risen magnificently to the task! He's 16, like you!"
(A/N: *cough cough* tRoLlHuNtErS *cough cough*)
"Not helping."
"Sorry..."
"Anyway," I cleared my throat, "It's been nice and all, but I have to-"
"-find some magical ingredients to rescue our dad."
"How-"
"You talk in your sleep, Mari."
My chest tightened. "Hey, only he gets to call me that!"
Felix smirked. "Oh, my cousin, Adrien?"
I blushed deep red. "How did you know? Oh wait, lemme guess- that damn video..."
"Yep. And yes, Bridgette, I'll tell you all the details later." He winked.
I had to get out of there. Don't get me wrong- I wanted to just stay so bad- but I had to go. I couldn't risk any lives.
Whilst they were both busy blushing like fools (though who am I to judge?) I made my move. I tried to vault over their heads, calling out my transformation to Tikki- key word being tried. I managed to transform, but without even looking up, Bridge grabbed my ankle and slammed me into the ground.
"Ow, Bridgette, what the heck?"
She folded her arms, her metal armour clanking as she moved. "I do love you, big sis, but it doesn't mean I'm going any easier on you. Consider that the beginning of your training."
"Look, I appreciate the offer," I groaned in pain, "but I have to go; I can't lose any more loved ones."
"Who ever said anything about losing us? We're survivors, Marinette, and we sure as heck aren't ready to lose our lives." They stood defiantly, towering over me hunched body.
I grumbled, "I can tell you're coming with me whether I like it or not, am I right?"
"Right." They both smiled.
"Well then," I grinned, "when does training start?"
~
Which brings us back to the present. We'd just finished the first session of my training, and I was exhausted. Situated at the very top of the treehouse, my first training experience was running all the way to the training room, no cheating.
I think you can tell it took literally the entire day.
A/N: Okay sorry, there was a lot more planned for this chapter, but honestly I'm a bit exhausted, so it'll be in the next chapter.
chatnoirsgf did I do the chapter justice? Heh.
Also, I want you to comment here, and I want you to be honest with me.
Was this chapter worth the wait?
Am I updating too slowly? Are my chapters too long?
Are my chapters trash?
Please lemme know, thanks.
ALRIGHT SAD THOUGHTS ASIDE:
1) I'VE STARTED TO WATCH ONCE UPON A TIME. IT. IS. FRICKING. AMAZING!!!!!!! I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS SHOW TO LITERALLY ANYBODY ABOVE 12 (since that's the rating)! It's basically a show with fairy tale characters come to life, but they've forgotten who they are. That's season 1 at least. Not gonna give any more explanation! ALSO IF YOU ARE ALREADY A FAN PLEASEEEEE TELL ME YOU GOT THE REFERENCE I PUT IN HERE? ALL MAGIC COMES WITH A PRICE? ANYONE?
Also Captain Swan is my OUaT OTP. FIGHT MEEEEEEE-
2) Apollo-gies (YO PJO FANS YOU SEA WHAT I DID THERE? AND THERE? Heh okay sorry) for not updating sooner. As you might've heard, I have a sore throat and a cough (which is not getting better, only worse ☹) and a very demanding high school. Pwease don't be mad? *Percy Jackson's seal eyesss*
