A/N: Hi guys! Apart from the ones where I ask you questions, this is probably my most important A/N, so listen up! Okay, so you know how I've been editing chapters instead of writing them? Well, there was supposed to be another edited chapter from the old story, but there was so much plot to rewrite (since I didn't want the reveal to happen this way) so I just decided not to use it. So, NOW I'M WRITING THE CHAPTERS MYSELF (INCLUDING THIS CHAPTER!)! I'm excited about this! That being said, please bear in mind that it will take me a bit longer to update. Anyway, let's get into the chapter! I can finally say the plot is now mine (not to be rude, sorry)!

Is anyone interested in a face reveal? I'd have to work up the courage though lol!

Marinette's POV

I slowly walked back to the balcony, frantically searching for a believable excuse. Cat? Nah. The plates fell? Nope. The smoke alarm went off? That's just pathetic. Chat Noir came to visit and knocked over some cups?

Woah. Where did that one come from?

Lost in my thoughts, I failed to notice the sliding glass doors right in front of me. With a loud SMACK! I smashed into the door, my face pressed against the glass, before sliding down and groaning in agony. Adrien gasped and rushed to my aid, carefully checking me over. "Are you okay Marinette?" he asked worriedly.

I groaned and sat up. "I'm okay." I checked myself for bruises (there were a couple, which alarmed me) and sat up, wincing.

"What happened back there?" he questioned whilst looking at my knee which was slowly turning purple.

"Oh uh, Alya was sleepwalking and knocked over the fruit bowl! Yeah! I helped her back into bed and cleaned up the mess."

"Oh okay. Anyway, we'd better get back to bed," Adrien suggested, "c'mon."

I nodded in agreement. We closed the door and headed back inside.

~TIME SKIPPPPPPPP~

I woke up in the morning to the annoying shrilling of my alarm. I slammed my hand down on top of the clock and groggily sat up, running a hand through my messy hair. After fifteen eventful minutes which included Tikki trying to pull me out of bed and me falling on the floor (thankfully everyone else was still asleep) I sat up and made my way to the bathroom to get ready for the day. I did my morning routine and selected my clothes for the day.

(A/N: So basically that with black jeans)

As I got dressed, I remembered that I had to see Chat at 2. How the heck was I supposed to get away from my friends? Oh well, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, I thought, stepping out of the bathroom. Sunlight streamed into the quiet bedroom. Alya and Nino were still asleep, tangled in the massive duvet, whilst Adrien was just getting up from our bed. He yawned, rubbed his eyes and smiled tiredly at me. "Morning Marinette." Suddenly, he seemed to register what I was wearing and fully snapped to attention, all traces of weariness gone. He barely managed to stammer out the words, "I-I didn't know y-you were a f-fan of Ch-Chat Noir!" before a fierce blush crept up his face, setting his cheeks ablaze.

I chuckled, "Well, I know Ladybug gets a heck of a lot of appreciation, but there isn't much for Chat Noir, to be honest. To the city, he's just a...sidekick, for want of a better word. To me, Chat is Ladybug's equal. He's always taking the hits for her, being a kind, brave and loyal partner, whilst Ladybug is being clumsy and fumbling around all the time. Chat Noir is an awesome hero, perhaps the best, and I know Ladybug would agree with me." I finished my mini-speech.

Adrien just stood there, mouth agape.

Adrien's POV

I swear my jaw hit the floor. I never knew she felt that way about my alter ego! Also, I couldn't believe she felt so lowly of Ladybug! I bit back some comments or else I would have gone on a full-blown ramble about my slightly diminished feelings for the spotted heroine.

Wait. Slightly diminished?

For a long time, I thought Ladybug had entirely eclipsed my heart. And she has! I told myself firmly.

The pounding of my heart every time I saw Marinette thought otherwise.

Marinette's POV

As Adrien stood there slack-jawed, a lightbulb went off in my head.

"Uh, Adrien?" I said, still not believing that I was going through with this. "I, uh, have a Ladybug jumper I made if you want to wear it. We could match!" I finished, excited yet nervous.

Thankfully, there was no reason to be scared, as his whole face lit up. "Seriously? Can I?"

Adrien's POV

Oh my gosh, this girl is amazing.

"Of course! One second..." She rummaged around in her suitcase until she held up a hoodie. "There!" she exclaimed. "Do you like it?"

(A/N: Once again, just with black jeans)

"Like it? I love it!" I practically yelled, grabbing it from her along with a pair of my black jeans, and slipped into the bathroom, changing hastily and dashing out again.

"Well?" I asked nervously.

She blushed. "It suits you! A lot!"

I was blushing too.

We both just stood there smiling until I heard the BEEP! of a phone going off. I looked in the direction it came from and saw Alya holding up her phone and Nino snickering behind his hands.

Marinette groaned. "Alya! Why just WHY?!"

She grinned. "Not telling!"

Mari shook her head playfully. "Ugh, fine! Hurry up and get dressed guys! I wanna go into the woods today before I have to meet someone at 2 for lunch."

"Ooh!" Alya teased.

My heart sank.

Marinette blushed. "Shut up. It's not like that."

My heart soared.

After a long trek in the woods (which involved some aggressive squirrels and nut-hoarding), it was 2 pm and time for me to go meet Ladybug.

Marinette seemed to realize it was 2 as well, as she hurriedly explained, "Guys, it's 2, I have to go now." She ducked under a branch and hurried away.

"I'm super tired guys. You go in without me." I winked at Nino, and he gave me a don't-you-even-think-about-it glare.

"Bye guys!" I smiled cheekily and ran away.

I ducked behind a bush and transformed. I leapt away into the sky and onto the place where Ladybug and I agreed we'd meet. Suddenly, my cat-phone buzzed.

M'Iady: Sorry Chat, I'll be 15 minutes late. Just wait there! Bug out!

I groaned and made myself comfortable.

Fifteen minutes later, Ladybug swung onto the rooftop. "C'mon Kitty! I have something to show you!"

She launched herself into the sky and I extended my baton and followed her.

When she finally stopped, I gasped. A picnic blanket had been set on a cliff edge, with all kinds of food laying on it.

She smiled nervously. "Do you like it?"

I gathered her in a hug, blinking away tears. She stiffened up at first, but soon returned the hug. I released her and sniffed. "M'Iady, this is probably one of the nicest things anyone's ever done for me. Thank you so much!"

She breathed a sigh of relief. "No problem Chaton. Come on, stuff your face, I know you wanna!"

"As usual, Bugaboo, you're right." I sat down and began to eat, whilst Ladybug struck up a conversation. After what felt like minutes, even though it was hours, the sun was already dipping down into the sea.

"Oh my gosh! It's 6 already! Time flies when you're having fun." She said, almost wistfully?

"It does." I stood up, pressing a kiss to her hand. Instead of pulling away, as she usually did, she just giggled, skimming her thumb over her knuckles where I'd kissed her.

"Oh hey, Kitty, before I forget, do you want to take a picture?"

"Sure, M'Iady."

We posed for the picture in front of the sunset- her arm around my neck, my hand around her waist, cheesy grins plastered across our faces. She pressed the button and we broke apart.

"Can you send- oh never mind you've already done it."

She smiled. "Bug out, Kitty!"

She swung away.

My heart pounding so loud I thought the rest of the world could hear it, I made my way back to my cabin.

I detransformed and met Marinette outside the cabin, that cheesy grin still on my face (I would never hear the end of that from Plagg).

"Had a nice time?" I asked.

She sighed contentedly. "Yep. Awesome."

We both collapsed on our bed.

Third Person's POV

Unbeknownst to both of them, the same thought was running through their heads.

WHY MUST LOVE BE SO FRUSTRATING?!
