Welcome to Camp Campbell!
Introduction: 2/2?
Yoruichi groggily sat up and looked around. Callisto was nestled in their bed, while Ink was by his bed, just slipping on a grey t-shirt. He caught her dazed gaze and gave her a little smile, his eyes seemed to be tired but honestly, when were they not?
"Good morning." He shortly greeted her. His twin sister mustered a small smile and slid off her bed. "I can only remember so much of yesterday." The girl replied, running a hair through her dark, auburn hair. Which reminded Ink of an uneven mop.
"Get yourself some bath," Ink laughed and ruffled his twin's hair, earning a grumble in response. He laughed again and went to wake Callisto. "Cal," He murmured softly, shaking their shoulder lightly. "Cal, come on, you have to go and take a bath. We need to get breakfast."
"I'll get breakfast later, uncle Qrow."
"Callisto. We're not home." Callisto reluctantly woke up. They took a look around, scratching their cheek in confusion. "Do you mean we're in Camp Campbell for real?" They asked, frowning.
"Yup, we're in Camp Campbell. Now come on, let's get breakfast. Some of the campers are really starting to get curious." Yoru said, walking inside their tent. She was wearing a pastel-pink sweater, which looked nice. "Can you walk me to where you took a shower?" The ten-year old asked, looking up to the taller female as they held out a hand.
And Yoru couldn't possibly avoid that. Those large, grey eyes, filled with innocence. So she obliged, gladly. "Sure, Cal, let's go." Yoru walked outside with Callisto, and heard someone remark.
"Wow, there's another baby here." The teen turned towards a ten-year old with teal eyes and toffee skin. He was wearing a blue hoodie and had two friends with him, both seemingly concerned. Yoru only arched an eyebrow at him and walked Callisto to the showers. It wasn't too far from their tents, and thank god, they were not bathing in the lake. Yoru's overprotective nature of Callisto would not be allowing that.
The brunette waited as Callisto took their shower, leaning against a tree as she hummed along to the music that blasted in her SONY 1000x headphones. Dying for You was playing, letting her bask in the emotions that flood within. Callisto, who had finished drying themselves, slipped on their clothes before beaming a smile at Yoru. They tugged at her sleeve, silently requesting for her attention. "Hm?"
"Let's go and get breakfast..." They said quietly. "Oh, yeah, sure." Yoru gave a nod, pulling down her headphones and pushed herself off the tree. She walked Callisto to the mess hall, where David was gathering campers.
"Alright, kiddos! We have some new campers together with us!" He said enthusiastically. "Oh, oh! Are they one of the kids we saw earlier? Except one of them seemed to be five years older?" A jubilant little girl exclaimed, her pink eyes glistened with excitement.
"You betcha! How about you show yourselves, new campers?"
"No thanks." Yoru shrugged. David's face fell and Ink nudged her. With a sigh, she reluctantly nodded and smiled a little at everyone. "Sup, I'm Yoru. This is Callisto, touch 'em and I'll rip your neck off." Yoru's face darkened at the thought of anyone messing with the said-camper.
Their counselor paled.
"Ink." Ink said shortly, his deep and soothing voice surprising everyone. Well, everyone but his two friends. "I'm sorry...what?" David smiled awkwardly, looking at the tall and dark boy with caution. "His name is Ink. He doesn't speak much, don't expect him to do more than saying a few words." His twin spoke, speaking for her twin.
"Well, nice to meet you all! Your uncle and my close friend, Qrow, said so much about you all! Little sweethearts." David sighed a blissful sigh, smiling lightly. Out of all three characters, Yoruichi could feel her face burn the brightest. Of course, how typical of their uncle to call them 'little sweethearts'.
"Now, how about some breakfast?"
"Fucking finally!" The rude boy from before said with much sarcasm, causing his fellow camp-mates to erupt into laughter. Even Yoru, Callisto and Ink shared a giggle. "Max, language!" David scolded. "Suck a d-"
"Um, excuse me, can we just have breakfast without having to fight for it?" Yoru piped up with an amused look, crossing her arms. "That sounds lame, but eh." Max, as she had recognised, chastised casually. The fifteen-year old girl snorted quietly and chose a table for her group. Breakfast was great, they had pancakes and coffee. Well, there was milk and tea too. But Yoru preferred black coffee with less sugar, and Ink couldn't understand why. Callisto noticed how Max liked coffee and speculation began to form in their brilliant mind, but they didn't say anything.
First, Max looked like a total asshole.
Second, he looked unapproachable and just fed up with everything. And third, they weren't brave enough. Unlike Yoru, Callisto couldn't bring herself to just strike an opportunity. "Breakfast isn't so bad, right, guys?" Ink hummed in agreement as he sipped his tea, agreeing to his twin sister. "Yeah," Callisto nodded. The three, along with the rest of the campers/counselors enjoyed their breakfast wholeheartedly.
That was before a loud explosion shook the earth. Everyone looked at one another, and watched as Max walked through the front doors. Yoru, Callisto and Ink couldn't help but to follow along as Nikki and Neil tailed him from behind. The new trio's jawdropped at the sight before them.
"Well, fuckers, welcome to Camp Campbell."
