Chapter 2

Dylan Welsh

I didn't like talking to strangers that much, and I felt uncomfortable; especially to people that are much older than me.

Ian sighed, holding his forehead with one hand; "let me put it this way, seeing that you uncomfortable to tell your damn story; what has made you like photography?"

I don't really remember what made me like taking pictures of beautiful locations, people, animals and objects. I bit my lip, hoping to find an answer.

"What happened to you kid? Cat got your tongue?"

"I-I don't really know, all I remember is holding my older sister's Instax... Then I realized, I was taking aesthetic shots.. I needed more lessons, it wasn't perfect; I needed something to complete the puzzle."

"That's long, but I understand you; I, too is trying to solve the jigsaw puzzle of my skill of painting. Something's not right, it's not really telling you the story of the painting."

I was about to reply when I heard my iPhone ringing and vibrating. Ian cocked his head a little on the side, finding the source of noise.

"E-Excuse me." I stammered, fishing out my iPhone from my pocket; I answered the call.

"Hello?"

"Dylan! Where are you? We're already ordering the food that you like, come!"

It was my eldest sister who was on the line, and she sounded very cheerful. I heard noise, mom laughing and my two older brothers talking.

"So? Are you coming now, or what?"
"I will, I will."
"Do you know the address?"
"I know, I'm coming!" I ended the call, as I stood up; Ian looked frustrated as he grabbed my wrist.

"What the hell?" I muttered, the older man stood up too; still holding my wrist. Looking at my sea blue eyes, I stared back; and it was very awkward.

Ian let go, apologizing as he threw himself on the bed. "I'll see you later." He said, rubbing his neck; in embarrassment.

"Okay? Bye."

I left the room, running downstairs by using the staircase; I went outside of the university's neighborhood. As I hailed for a taxi, one cab stopped; I went inside.

"Where ya going kid?" The driver asked, looking at the mirror.

"To..."

--

The taxi stopped right in front of the crowded restaurant, I made it inside; finding mom, so I looked around for them.

"Dylan!" Mom exclaimed, calling my name; I looked behind, seeing a ravenette waving her hand. I smiled, as I walked to their table.

"Hi mom." I greeted, as I sat down on the vacant seat next to Charlotte for mom was in the middle. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be, Dylan!" Mom patted my back, as she called the waitress. "One beer please for him."

"I don't think I'm allowed to—"
"Shush, Dilly; this is a celebration. Lose yourself."

Charlotte laughed, because she was on the phone with someone; it's probably her husband. Elliot was busy reading on his iPhone, while Myles was reading a novel.

Mom was the only one talking to me.
"John sent me a text, he said he'll be giving you extra allowance of $1000! Isn't that great?" Mom explained, as she showed me dad's text message.

"It's nice, but..." My voice trailed off, I didn't really want to hope anymore.

"What, honey? You can tell me anything."

"I don't want to talk about it."

--

When our food was served, we all ate our ordered food; it was yummy, delicious and the meat was juicy too. In the middle of eating we talked, and talked.

Laughter could be heard from a table, it was like we were a complete family.

"So, have you met your room mate?" Mom looked at me with her pretty blue eyes, she was interested in knowing Ian.

"Yeah, his name is Ian Andersen; he's a second year and studying Fine Arts..." I told her, mentioning Ian made me remember what happened before.

Grabbing my wrists, and staring at me with those gray eyes. What was that?

"Oh my god, is he attractive?!" Charlotte exclaimed, as she puts her fists on the table making it jump.

"He is." I blushed, then Charlotte looked at me. "Are you in love with him?" She asked, giving me a sly grin.

"What? I'm a guy, Charlie! I'm not gay."
I protested, rolling my eyes; mom laughed at my embarrassment.

"I took care of Dylan too well, that he won't be gay; Charlie." Mom said, as she drinks champagne.

"Can you stop assuming my sexuality?"

--

Mom drove me back home, she dropped me in front of Dorm Building 2, I sighed; because today was a very... Stressful day.

I entered the building, with my dorm keys in my hands. I greeted the man in front of the counter with a smile of a god, and went ahead to the elevator.

I pressed number 2, when the doors were about to close three girls joined in. They stared at me, until the blonde spoke.

"Hey, you should come at our party tomorrow; it's at 8PM. Everyone is invited it's at our Sorority Clubhouse."

"T-Thanks, I'm Dylan Welsh. You?"
"Sabrina Garcia, I'm a third year student; these are my best friends, Becky Vang and Ann Price."

Explains why you look much more older, Sabrina.

The door opens, I waved goodbye to them as I stepped off the elevator. They all said goodbye in unison, as the doors closed.

I went to my dorm room, 177. Before I could unlock the door, I heard something... Strange.

"Ian! Ian! Faster!"

I blushed, what are they doing?! Didn't Ian know I'm still coming home? He has time to fuck a bitch at this hour.

"Lower your voice, Jess."

I really wanted to interrupt their lovemaking, but I didn't have the courage to do so. I'll make a bad impression of myself, especially he's my room mate for 3 years of COLLEGE.

I sighed, as I knocked on the door three times. Before I heard 'Jess' scream loudly from the other side, and then I heard footsteps coming up to open the door.

It was Ian, his emotion shows anger and.. I got nothing, he's really angry for disturbing them both! Is he fucking dumb? I live here too!

"Um, Ian. Hey; it's me— ah, Dylan."
"Yeah I know, hold on for a sec."

He closed the door again, I hear them talking; I sat against the beige wall. Waiting for them to finish so I could finally rest.

I felt my eyes close, as I fall asleep on the aquamarine carpet.
