Shelter
She picked up the tablet and the pen, ready to create her own little world..

Drawing. That was all she did. With no one else around, she knew she was free of judgement, so she did the one thing she knew she was good at. Her hand glided across the screen like a bird gliding over water, looking for its prey. Soon the building designs came into play, all of them digitizing and coming to life. Her face showed happiness, knowing she made these, and she can make her own world. It's been roughly fifteen years since the incident happened, all signs of life disappeared from the world, leaving her alone in a glass box, where she could overlook her creations. She knew if she built something that she could touch, she'd be able to leave this horrid box and actually feel the grass, touch the trees, and eat the food that grew out of the ground. She's drawn many scenes, cities, parks, houses, so she decided to go with something simple, a tree with a swing.
She popped into place, looking around at her surroundings, she saw an endless amount of grass with a tree in the middle. She walked over to the tree and looked at the old, decaying swing. She stuck her hand out to see a bright light.
There she sees a young girl with brown hair sitting on a swing, her hair knotted and she looks like she hasn't eaten in days. Yet she looks.. happy, like a teen who just got a new car. Then a man walks up to her, crouching down to her eye level, he narrows his eyes and asks the girl,
"Are you lost?"
She opens her eyes and hops off the swing, looking up at the man, he had short, brown hair, and eyes that were the color of the sky. She shook her head, smiling at the man, saying
"No! I'm just waiting for my mommy to come back and pick me up! She said she was only going to the store, but she's been gone for a while.."
The mans pupils became smaller as she said that, for she doesn't know the conditions of Tokyo right now. Her mother is probably long gone, so he picks the girl up and says,
"Don't worry, I'll help you find your mom.."
When she awoke she was back in her glass box, she pushed herself out of the bed and onto the floor, walking over to the window, she looked out at the endless whiteness that she had come accustomed to seeing. She grabbed the tablet and drew out what people called a nebula. All of the greens and blues blended together as it would if it was real.
Suddenly it all faded to white and she was in a field. She ran across it, feeling the grass between her bare feet, this was always the best feeling for her, what's not to love about it? While she keeps running, she grabs her tablet pen and draws rocks, tons of them. They spiral out of the ground like flowers sprouting from seeds to real plants. Her eyes sparkle with interest as she looks at the beautiful scenery ahead of her. When the rocks disappear, she land on the ground and lays on her back, looking up at the clouds in the sky, they were always beautiful, coming in so many shapes and sizes. She then has another flashback, this one of a woman dressed in all black, walking through a forest, looking at nothing but what was in front of her. All the memories came flooding back to her soon after that, her playing in the sand, her leaving for school, her coloring.. there was so many. Finally she was herself peeking through a doorway and looking at the man, who was on some sort of futuristic tablet. There was one of that stood out to her, she was crying, the man leaned down and said,
"Don't cry dear child, everything will be okay..."
She looked up at her dad and looked into his eyes, she nodded as he picked her up and put her in the machine.
The teen ran towards the machine and tried to stop him, but it was too late. The machine closed a minutes later it disappeared. Tears flowed out of the girls eyes as she saw him in a field, smiling as he cried, saying;
"Please be safe, Cad."
Then she was back in the field, she bent down at picked up the tablet, looking at the sky with tears falling out of her eyes. She said up to the man who saved her,
"I now know I'm not alone.. because I have you."
The ghost showed up behind her, smiling at how much she has changed and grown. This would be the only time he sees her, but she couldn't see or feel him. She laid down and closing her eyes to stop the tears, saying to him,
"Thank you.. Sam.."

What was this you may as?? I don't know! I though the song shelter by Porter Robinson was amazing and the music video was also awesome, so I made my own little one shot. I wasn't planning on even publishing this book, but I thought I'd share this one shot with you all. I went with my own little twist at the end, so everything wasn't the same. Just remember; everyone who loves you will always be there for you, even if they're gone.
