Chapter 2

We took the long way to the campus, crossing the river to get to the dodgier part of town to drop Joshua home first. They lived in a fairly new looking townhouse, in an area dubbed the Lego village because all the houses looked the same. It looked like a nice place to live, if only it wasn't on the edge of a part of town I wouldn't normally be caught dead in at any time of day, let alone night. Actually, I probably would be found dead if I ever did try to walk down the road here.

"Climb in the front, Caly." Aaron directed as Joshua climbed out of the car and shut the door as he bolted for the front porch.

Taking my seat belt off, I slid forward on the seat, put both my legs through the gap between chairs and then moved the rest of my body into the front. The skin on my lower body felt the breeze of movement, and I considered that with the flowing skirt of the dress, I may have exposed more leg than the dress intended. An idea confirmed by the sparkle in Aaron's eye as they lifted from my legs to meet my face. Biting my lip against the hungry look in his eyes, I turned my attention to pulling my seat belt on and waving to Joshua who was waiting on the front porch to watch us drive away.

"So you tutor Josh?" Aaron asked, shifting gears to pick up speed, his hand brushing against my thigh as he did.

I moved my legs casually, adjusting myself on the seat to be more comfortable. I was alone in a car with Aaron Wish, igniter of my hormones, haunter of my wet dreams - yes, if I had a sex dream, he was usually the star - I was sitting on heated black leather seats, but that was not the cause of the sudden rush of heat between my thighs.

"Yes." I blushed and squirmed in my seat. "This will be the fourth year."

"You don't charge him?" Aaron continued.

"I do actually." I smiled. "He brings me a large juice from Boost to every tutoring session since I left school."

Aaron smirked at me. "That doesn't count, Caly. You charge forty dollars from every other student for an hour. You work with Josh for that long and have never charged him."

I shrugged. "I used to charge that. I enjoy tutoring Josh and he's the only person I tutor now."

"Do you enjoy Josh full stop?" Aaron asked plainly.

I looked at him surprised. "Josh and I meet in the hospital cafeteria every Saturday afternoon. How exactly do you think I'm going to be enjoying him in such a public venue?"

Aaron frowned. "I thought you were meeting at the university library?"

I relaxed back in my seat. "That lasted a month after I started university. It's two busses for your brother to get there which is unfair on him. I finish work at the hospital the same time your mum starts, so he catches a lift there with her and then he catches the direct bus to work."

"You work at the hospital?" Aaron looked over at me.

I nodded. "In the radiology department. I got a traineeship in my first year. I'd completed my first year of university before I finished high school, and then I did two units in summer school so I've been able to study a reduced load during semester time and work a part time roster." I informed him. "I work Thursday nights, Saturday and Sunday mornings."

Aaron's grip on the steering wheel tightened. "You got the Technologist Traineeship last year?" I watched Aaron's jaw tighten.

"You applied for it didn't you?" I asked weakly.

"Yes." Aaron gritted. "I need twelve months experience to get accredited when I finish my degree. If I got the traineeship then I would have graduated eligible for immediate accreditation. Instead I'm working the university bar. Accreditation positions are limited and competitive so in all likelihood I'm going to finish my degree and end up working the bar for another four years."

"You're doing the nuclear medicine major?" I asked. We were effectively in the same year but only had a few of the same classes.

"You're not?" Aaron asked surprised.

I shook my head. "Diagnostic Radiography." I answered.

Aaron ground his teeth. "I not only got passed over for a first year student, you're doing a lesser degree."

"Hey!" I looked at him angrily. "Academically, we're the same. I was an excelsior student too asshole."

"Call me an asshole again I'll pull over and let you walk home." Aaron muttered.

I glared. "Should I call you Ego instead?" I quoted the name I'd used for tonights date in the blog.

That made Aaron smirk. "I'd at least take a girl out three times before I started expecting her to put out."

I smiled getting an idea. I pulled out my phone and went to the blog opening the contents page. "Okay, so who are you like?"

"What?" Aaron laughed looking down to see me scanning the list of pseudonyms used for my dates.

"You read this blog, you must have an idea how you would behave. Which of her dates are you most like?" I asked with a smirk.

Aaron laughed. "Okay. Out of all of them I'm probably a combination of three. There was a really intelligent guy last year. Study something."

"Studitious?" I smiled.

"Yeah him." Aaron laughed watching me open that posting and pretend to read about those series of dates. "And the bouncer from the night club just before Christmas."

"Bounce?" I asked with an internal cringe. I'd liked both those guys. Studitious was really intelligent, all around nice guy, but sexually there was no chemistry. Truthfully, he actually didn't seem that interested in sex. Bounce on the other hand was absolutely gorgeous. He had the entire physical package and there was lots of sexual chemistry, but the intellectual stimulation just wasn't there. I'd called him bounce, not because of his occupation, but that's what he'd call out during sex. 'Bounce on me baby, that's it, oh god yes, bounce on my big dick.' I sort of swooned remembering some of the sex marathons I'd enjoyed with that gorgeous hunk of man.

Aaron laughed watching me swoon as I pretended to read the blog post. "Enjoying that one are you?"

"Not as much as the blogger obviously did." I replied back to his tease, but seriously, the sex was mind blowing. Aaron chuckled. "Is this your way of telling me you're good in bed?"

Aaron winked. "And so the third would be the professor."

I froze for a heartbeat. I clicked on the Professor post and pretended to scan. "She dated one of her teachers?"

Aaron looked at me. "He didn't teach her class, I don't think."

No, the professor didn't teach any of my classes, he wasn't even a professor, but he was a PhD student and taught classes at the university. I'd sort of fallen for that man. I'd lost my virginity to him during my first session of summer school before I'd started university full-time. "And how are you like this one?"

I saw Aaron look at me out of the corner of his eye. "I want what I shouldn't."

I frowned and turned my focus to Aaron. I put my phone down and turned my body to slant towards him. "How?"

Aaron saw me adjust my position and focused his attention on the road. "The professor was attracted to her and spent months resisting her, scared of risking his future on her. In the same way, there are things I want in my life, but with my background, I could jeopardise the future I've always wanted if I go after them."

I frowned down at my phone. "I didn't see anything in that blog about the professor's thought process."

"It was implied." He kept his eyes on the road.

I opened my phone and read the last post about the professor. "I think you are wrong. The professor made the first move, but the blogger ended it. I think she was scared of how she felt about him. She was obviously young going into the relationship and hadn't expected to get in that deep as quick as she did."

Aaron looked at me surprised. "You got all of that out of your quick read of a few posts?"

I smirked. "The thing I've learnt about these sort of blogs, is that our interpretations of them are coloured by our lives and our experiences."

Aaron slowed so he could turn and look at me. "Is that your way of telling me you're terrified of getting your heart broken?"

"Aren't we all?" I asked. There was mere inches between us and I was giving him the perfect opening to kiss me. Even if he didn't, it was going to fuel a whole lot of fantasy fun time for me from tonight on-wards.

Aaron's head whipped forward, he hit the breaks and spun the wheel. I had a moment to see the other car running the red light, then I was thrown against the side of the car, smacking my head on the window as the car turned and we narrowly missed a collision. Aaron looked up at the lights as if to reassure himself he did have right of way, then taking a deep breath, he put the car back in gear and slowly moved us out of the intersection and continued driving. I was too busy holding the back of my head in pain to care about anything else.

"I'll check your head once we get to campus, but I'm not stopping here to get car jacked or worse." Aaron explained.

"Totally understand." I gritted. "Obviously it's the night for me getting injured."

"You already got hurt tonight?" Aaron asked suddenly filled with concern.

"Twice." I admitted. "I'm sure I've got a few bruises from being manhandled by a creep earlier, and then I got massive blisters trying to walk home. I actually only stopped at the Pitstop to get band aids so I could wear my work shoes tomorrow. The fact Josh was on shift only encouraged me to stay, and once I was out of the rain, I didn't want to go back out in it."

"Josh encouraged you to stay?" Aaron asked looking confused.

I lowered my head. "He's always so kind and genuine with me. I feel safe with him." I confessed. "Most guys, they're only interested in looking, groping, or screwing me. They pretend to be nice or interested just to get in my knickers. I don't get that with Josh."

Aaron smirked. "If I told you I'm pretty sure he's thought about banging you nine ways from Sunday, would that change your opinion of him?"

"No." I chuckled. "He's a teenage boy." I grabbed my boobs in my hands. "If he hasn't thought about unloading all over these naked, then I would be seriously disappointed and suspect to his sexual orientation."

Aaron over steered a little before I removed my hands from my D cups.

"Sorry." I apologised.

Aaron shook his head, eyes slightly wide. "No, please. Feel yourself up all you need."

I smiled at his smirk. "Really?" I asked running a hand up my inner thigh slowly, pushing my skirt up out of the way. "Cause, it's been a rough night, and I could seriously use the tension release."

Aaron's smile grew. "Always the quiet ones." He turned into the car park, working his way down the gears, his hand brushing my thigh again as he pulled into the resident car park, but this time, he didn't make it casual.

He turned the ignition off, applied the handbrake and ran his hand up my thigh, chasing my hand. As his hand caught mine at the top of my thigh, a fingers breath from the junction, I trapped his hand with mine and met his eyes. We sat there, his hand where only two others had ever touched me before, and looked at each other. His hand was so hot against my cold skin and I could already feel what it would be like for his hands to be roaming my body, what his hot mouth would taste like, or the way his scruff would scratch, especially if he went down on me. I physically trembled as my body coiled impossibly tight, my sex was already clenching in anticipation, I bit my lip to prevent the moan as I damn near came just staring into his eyes.

Aaron's eyes widened slightly, his pupils dilating till his iris was near invisible in the dark. I slowly pushed his hand back down my thigh. "Thanks for the ride." I breathed a little too heavy. "I'll see you around." I opened the car door, heavy rain blowing into the car. Moving quickly, I picked up my bag and slid out from beneath his hand fully.

Aaron stayed silent, his Adam's apple letting me know the effort he was having swallowing in that moment. I closed the car door and crossed the car park to access the stairs that would take me up the hill to where my dorm was located at the back of residence. I was undercover and at the door to my dorm before I breathed out. Part of me seriously hoped Aaron would come after me, and show me how he could bounce me. The sensible part of my brain said that would be a bad idea. Aaron Wish was the very definition of a bad boy and I had never been easy.

"Caly." Aaron called behind me.

I stopped opening the door wide eyed. I turned around and found Aaron walking towards me. He'd pulled the hood of his black shirt up to cover his head. In his hands he held my broken shoes. He stepped under the cover and looked down at me. Without a word he held up the shoes for me.

"Thanks." I murmured taking the shoes. Our eyes were locked with each other again. I wanted to invite him up, and I knew he wanted me to invite him up. He opened his mouth and I prayed he didn't ask. I didn't want Aaron to be like every other guy and just be interested in me for the way I looked.

"Give me your phone." Aaron ordered. I frowned at him. He held out his hand waiting. Confused I unlocked my phone and gave it to him. He typed something in then handed it back. "You ever get manhandled again and are stuck getting home, you call me, I'll come get you. No expectations."

I looked in my phone book and noticed a new number under L. "Lancelot?" I almost had a heart attack wondering if he'd figured out my code name for him.

Aaron gave me a quiet smile. "Knight in shining armour, man of temptation, you know."

I swallowed. "Guenevere was forced to marry King Arthur. She loved Lancelot. Out of loyalty to their king they tried to refuse their love, but in the end..."

"Love conquers all?" Aaron asked amused.

"I was going to say love drowns us all. Look at every great romance in history. It all ends with death and heartache." I touched the locket around my neck then quickly swiped rain from my forehead. "Love is a force of nature, and nature is the most destructive force on the planet."

Aaron's eyes went to the locket. "Once bitten, twice shy?" He picked the locket up in his palm. "Did Phillip dumping you before he went off to college scar you that badly?"

I smiled and rolled my eyes. "I never cared for Phillip like that. It was a relief when he finally dumped me." I gently took my locket back and tucked it down the front of my dress.

Aaron took the hint and backed up a step. "Only call if you're desperate. I'm not a taxi service."

"I wouldn't abuse you like that." I told him honestly. "Thanks again for the lift." I unlocked the door and walked in without looking back.

On the top floor, I let myself into my room, locked the door behind me, and without turning on the light, went to my window. The black shadow that I knew was Aaron walked to the top of the stairs that led to the car park between two of the dorm buildings. He stopped at the top of the stairs and turned as if returning to my dorm, but only five steps back he stopped again and pulled his phone out answering it. He gave my building one last look, then turned and disappeared down the steps.

There were two types of dorms on campus. I lived in the newer type. Only a few years old, it was apartment style living. Aaron lived in the older style dorm. They were four bedroom adjoined townhouses with shared bathrooms. The biggest difference of course was price. Over a hundred dollars difference a week. It was almost a natural divide between scholarship and fully funded students. My mother paid my tuition and accommodation, but life expenses were mine to cover.

With a sigh, I pulled out my phone, sent Penny a message to let her know I was home safe, then I stumbled into the bathroom for a steaming hot shower. I hissed when the hot water washed over the head wound I received in the near miss, something both Aaron and I forgot about by the end of the car ride. Afterwards I put antiseptic cream over my busted blisters and crawled into bed with my laptop.

Lancelot.

I realised tonight I've never really talked about Lancelot on here. I think that's because I could never really explain my attraction. For sure, he's physically appealing to anyone with a pulse, but that was never what captured me about him. It's his eyes. Guarded, secretive and oh so naughty. He's not the guy most girls would take home to meet their mothers, and yet, I don't have that hesitation. I'm sure, if I introduced my mother to Lancelot she'd probably be reminded of my father at the same age.

Lancelot has a fire in his eyes, an unquenchable hunger for something I can't identify. That fire is contagious. It makes you hunger for him, to be near him, to kiss him, to touch him. And when he touches me...there is no word in Heaven or Earth to describe what he does to me. Tonight I realised, that may have been what started this blog all those years ago. Sitting placidly on my boyfriends lap while he whispered dirty things in my ear, but my eyes were watching the hunger burn in Lancelot's eyes across the room. Then and there it wouldn't have mattered what Blue Balls whispered or how he touched me. He was never going to light my fire like Lancelot.

It is with this understanding that I go off to sleep tonight, wondering, is that why I gave up the Professor?

I woke four hours later before sunrise to find my blog had blown up overnight with comments from my followers. I ignored them and pulled on my sweats before racing out the door to get my morning five kilometre run done. When I got back I had to rush getting ready for work. When I picked up my phone to leave I had a message from my mother.

Saw your blog posts. Both of them. Will talk Wednesday night.

Well, maybe saying Lancelot was like my father wasn't the best move where my mother was concerned.
