Chapter Thirteen

I stared at Craig's text. I shouldn't be as nervous as I am, but Craig seemed unpredictable. I never knew how he was going to feel about me or treat me, and this was going to be the first time that it was to two of us. If Craig did decide that he hated me, there would be no reason to hold back.

Despite everything I was feeling, I had to go. I wasn't going to chicken out because Craig is unapproachable. So, I got my books and made my way to Craigs house.

When I knocked on the door, a blonde older woman answered. I assumed that it was Craig's mother, who told me that Craig was in his room. I made my way up the stairs and knocked on the door she directed me to. Craig soon opened it, wearing a blue t-shirt and a pair of sweats, but it was weird, seeing that he didn't have his hat on.

Craig didn't say anything to. He just opened the door and walked back to his bed leaving me to let myself in. Seeing that Craig had already made himself comfortable on his bed, I looked to his desk to set my laptop up.

"Did you get the PowerPoint?" I asked.

"Yeah," he mumbled, messing around on his laptop.

"Do you want to work on the past aspect of it and I'll do the role that he played in WWII?" I suggested.

"Sure, I don't care," he simply replied.

We worked in silence; the only noise in the room was Craig's tv playing the show Red Racer. I wanted to say something, but I didn't know what. He didn't seem to mind the silence, but I've never heard Craig talk a whole lot, even when I still was hanging out with them.

"Are you okay?" Craig asked.

I was instantly pulled from my thoughts, a little confused. "Yeah, why?"

"You're typing pretty aggressively on your keyboard," Craig commented. "If you don't mind, could you not."

I bowed my head in embarrassment and apologized. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to—"

"I don't care just stop doing it. I want to focus," Craig cut me off.

I nodded, turning back to my laptop. Not that it mattered much. I couldn't focus. I felt that his blue eyes were just glaring daggers into my back. I tried to keep working on my slide, but it was already 7:30. I had accomplished nothing. I should've just stayed home.

Suddenly, I heard Craig close his laptop, rather aggressively. I turned so see him getting off of his bed, looking rather upset.

"Is everything okay?" I questioned.

"I'm going to smoke, and I think you should come. We need to have a chat," Craig said, sliding on his shoes and putting his coat on.

I didn't have a chance to protest, as Craig was already out the door, so I grabbed my phone and followed him.
