Sorry if you read this and it's choppy and a bunch of nonsense! I have to edit stilllll

I jump onto the bed and land on my stomach, my phone bouncing out of my hands and rebounding off my face. Tobin is busy on her phone, and Alex rummages through her suitcase. Nobody sees a thing. I rub my nose with a pout.

Tobin glances up from her phone and looks at Alex. "I told Moe we'd swing by her room so we could all head down to breakfast together. Is that okay?"

Alex pulls a hoodie over her head and answers, "Yeah, that's fine. We should leave now. Is she ready?"

"I doubt it," Tobin murmurs, typing away at her phone again.

I huff and roll off the bed. Shuffling sulkily, I cross to the other bed and stand myself up on it. I lean forward, wrapping my arms around her neck from behind and burying my head in her shoulder.

"Hi, sweet girl," she says with a smile and pats my arms. "Are you all ready to go down?"

I nod into her shoulder. "I've been ready."

She turns and scoops me up in a tight hug. "Oh, you've been ready?" She tickles my sides, and I squeal squirming until she lets me gently down on the floor. I collapse to the carpet in a fit of breathless giggles. "Come on, silly. We can go rush Morgan. It will be fun. She'll hate it." She winks at me and helps me up.

Tobin immediately cuts in, "Don't you dare, Alexandra. I'm not dealing with crabby Moe today."

Alex pauses. "Is everything okay, Tobs?"

"Yeah." She pockets her phone and grabs her own hoodie. She adds a last minute hat. "I just feel bad." She holds the door open for us. I quickly grab my Nintendo Switch on the way out.

Alex checks the back of her phone. "Oh! I have to grab the key." I wait in the hallway and power up my game. Alex comes back out slipping the key into the back of her phone case. Tobin closes the door behind us and leads us down the hallway. Alex asks, "Why do you feel bad?"

"I just feel like we haven't talked much. I dunno. I just feel like I'm . . ." She trails off.

"Neglecting her?" I supply, clicking on my game.

"Eleanor Mae, pay attention to where you're walking," Alex scolds.

I glance up and see just a long stretch of hallway, so I go back to clicking away.

Tobin puts her hand on my shoulder and asks Alex. "You don't think I'm neglecting her, do you?"

The question isn't asked to me, so I don't say anything. But in the three months I've been with the team, I haven't really talked to Morgan.  Tobin has here and there, but not enough for Morgan and I to cross paths if that speaks for anything.

Alex says, "She's a big girl, Tobs. She'll let you know if she's feeling that way."

Tobin grumbles something about not being too sure about that. I don't care much for the conversation anymore. I am building a little moat around my house in my Minecraft survival world.

"This is it, right?"

"Oomph!" My device tumbles out of my hand, and I scramble to catch it. I manage to pinch the corner right before it hit the ground. Breathing a sigh of relief, I look up to see Alex facing me with hands on her hips.

"Sorry," I say with a sheepish grin. "I didn't see you stop."

Alex purses her lips but then sighs. "You would have if you were paying attention like I asked." She puts her hands on my shoulders and looks me over. "Are you okay?"

I nod. "Yeah, I'm okay." I look over my game for any scratches or damage. The device is pulled from my hands mid-inspection. My bottom lip juts out into a pout as Tobin tucks it under her arm.

"This is mine for now." Tobin pokes my side. "Next time, please listen when Alex or I tells you to do something. We probably say it for a reason."

I smile up at her sheepishly. "Yes ma'am."

Tobin forces a smile back and knocks on the door. I try not to take it personally, knowing she's got a lot on her mind. Key word being try.

The door swings open to reveal a girl with a brunette nest of tangles mixed with bits of blond. Half dressed, she looks over the three of us and props open the door to let us in. "Give me a minute," she murmurs, rubbing at her eyes. . . And I thought I wasn't a morning person.

I follow behind Tobin and Alex awkwardly, stepping over strewn clothing and avoiding granola bar wrappers. Tobin notices the mess but seems more exasperated than surprised. "Morgan," she says, her tone saying all that needed to be said between the pair.

Throwing on presentable clothing, Morgan retorts, "You didn't have a problem with it yesterday." She turns and eyes me with a smirk. "Speaking of yesterday, so Eleanor Jackson, you're the one wreaking havoc on my poor Aunt Toby?"

I stammer out anything but words.

She laughs. "I'm glad somebody is keeping her on her toes."

Tobin looks between Morgan and I with contained panic. She meets Alex's eyes. "Are you seeing this?"

Alex shrugs. "Hate to break it to you, buddy, but you're screwed."

Tobin shakes her head and points back at her. "Uh uh, take that back. We are a team. We are screwed."

I tuck myself into the forward. She puts her arms around me and laughs. "This one's mine. That one is all yours." She motions to Morgan who has now parted way with the bed head and looks ready to rejoin humanity.

Tobin sighs. "Yeah, that's fair." She pokes the fellow midfielder. "You ready to go?"

She nods and grabs her room key. She links her arm in mine and pulls me away from Alex. She walks us ahead. "How does it feel to be part of the family?"

I blink and glance over my shoulder. Tobin and Alex aren't far behind. "The family?" I ask.

Moe groans and glares behind us. She loudly accuses, "She doesn't know the family?"

Tobin hisses, "Morgan Paige, keep your voice down. We're in a hotel."

She remains unfazed and gives me the rundown of the inner workings of a select number of the team. The relationships and names make my head spin, and I quickly lose track of who mentors who, and who is "siblings" with who. When she asks me if I understand, I just nod along.

My phone vibrates in my pocket as we're getting onto the elevator. I look at the text to see one from Mal asking where I am. I get antsy in the elevator, eager to hang out with her. Tobin and Alex get on after us, and I manually close the doors to get to the ground floor faster.

When we finally reach breakfast, I go to run off but Alex snatches my wrist before I can. I pout and turn to face her. "What?" I whine.

She raises an eyebrow. "Why don't you sit with Tobin and I today?"

"But—"

Morgan nudges me. "I'll sit with you too. We can bond and all that jazz."

I debate my options. With a groan I agree and shoot Mal a text, letting her know. I can see the disappointment from across the room. She shoots me a real life "WTH" look. I pretend I don't see it.

The four of us move through the food line together. Mal cuts me off from Tobin and Alex on the way back to the table. "Hey! Why can't you sit with me?" She crosses her arms.

"I told you, Mal." I motion to Tobin and Alex. "I'm being held hostage."

Morgan puts an arm around me and smirks tauntingly at Mal. "That's right, Mally. I'm stealing your friend from you. She found out I'm the cooler person to be around."

She gasps and glares at me. "She is NOT the cooler person. I still have all my silly bands, and I don't even think Morgan was in the cool grade when they came out."

"You mean I wasn't a baby when—" Morgan starts,  but I panic and grip her arm.

"I'm really sorry, Mal, but I can't argue with Tobin and Alex. I'll see you on the bus!" I pull Morgan away and sit down in my seat with a relieved breath.

The rest of breakfast goes smooth. Today, only Tobin, Alex, Morgan, and I sit together. We make small talk, and I elect to pop in here and there until the conversation shifts to focus on me.

"So how was your little beach trip?" Morgan asks. I can tell she's feigning innocence and that Tobin doesn't approve with the disapproving glare she sends.

I blush and poke at my last bite of eggs. "Not great," I mumble with a nervous laugh.

She laughs and asks Tobin and Alex, "Did Mal get her tail roasted?"

Alex rolls her eyes, and Tobin points at Morgan. "Uh uh, don't you make fun of her, or you'll be next."

She laughs. "I'll take that as a yes."

Tobin and Alex had talked to me the night before about spanking within the team as well as other forms of punishment. It was an embarrassing topic in which I spent most of the discussion buried into her side. Luckily, Alex cuddled me tight the whole time, and Tobin was extra sweet to me offering to get me a drink and snack before bed.

It didn't occur to me that Mal and probably some others served those consequences after our beach fiasco.

"Are you done eating?" Tobin asks, standing up with her plate. I nod so she takes it and also grabs Morgan's. She had pushed her plate to the middle of the table a while ago. Alex stands up with her and together they take our stack of plates.

I turn to Morgan with my mouth open but no words come out. She smirks. "Questions?"

"Many," I finally manage.

She nods. "Okay. Ask away."
