part two - xxxi.

So we didn't have a ride home after prom, which wasn't such a bad thing since I didn't love far. We walked into the part of town where allot of stores were.

"I hope you had an good time." Zakaria said as he walked passed me.

"Didn't turn out awful like I expected." I said I held looked down at the skirt of my dress. "You're clearly are prince charming at dancing."

He laughed softly, "Thank you. You are not clumsy at slow dancing, so that is a good thing. Are you cold?" he asked since I had crossed arms and held them close to me. It was spring but at nights it still got chilly.

But I refused to let him know that so I shook my head, "No, no. I'm fine. We're almost to my house anyways."

He grabbed my arm and pulled me closer to him. He felt warm, like someone who been standing in the hot sun but all wolves were warmer. I awkwardly looked down at my shoes as I pulled away slightly, "Really, I am fine. Thanks though-"

"You are shaking." he said but probably meant shrivering since my arms were slightly.

"Aeriela." someone said my name and I turned to see it was Ulric. He dressed still in his work clothes with a beanie over his head and black jacket that was open. He had stepped out of the sports bar but not even old enough to drink he appeared sober and probably just went in to eat. He stared at me the dress then at Zakaria hands were holding onto my arm. My face quickly blushed before I pulled away. Ulric cleared his throat as he refused to look at Zakaria, "I heard it was prom night. You look really stunning. Hope you had a good time."

I stared at him, unbelieved this was Ulric because the old Ulric I knew always burst into a fit even if a guy tried hitting on me. This Ulric remained calm as he looked at me but those familiar blue eyes didn't appear happy. They seemed sad, dull like. He still refused to look at Zakaria who put his hands in his pockets and arched his eyebrow at Ulric. I rubbed my chilled arms to get the blood rushing, "Thanks. Where are you going?"

"Back to Alpha Matilda place. I earned enough money though to buy an apartment near the train station." he said.

"Oh. It gets pretty noises over there when the train leaves." I told me. I couldn't believe I was having a converstation with Ulric about trains.

He shrugged, "Play some music, I should be fine. It's cheap rent." he said. He noticed me shivering and arched his eyebrow, "Why don't you have a jacket?"

I shrugged my left shoulder, "Didn't bring one."

He started to take off his jacket, "Sounds like you to forget. Here." he said, holding it out towards me. I debated to if I should take it or not. Yes, I was cold and it would warm me up. But it belonged to Ulric. I didn't wanna take it because it was his.

Zakaria arm came out and he took it, "Very kind of you." he said. Ulric finally looked at him with a glare as Zakaria put it around me and I held it close to me. "I seen you sometimes around Alpha Matilda home but you are always out running when my brother and I come over. Avioding me?" he asked, looking slightly amused.

"I don't have a reason to aviod you, I don't know you." he said.

"I know you though. Your Killian second cousin. You're also Aeriela ex." he said, making me wanna leave now. "You are the glass shatterer."

Ulric looked confused, "I'm the what?"

"Nothing." I said quickly as I grabbed Zakaria and pulled him away. I was expecting Ulric to overreact or something like he would normally do since Ulric was an expert at overreacting but as we got further away I realized...no, he wasn't gonna overreact. I let go of Zakaria when we turned a corner and I turned to him, "Really? You have to be a smartass with comments?"

He shrugged, "Words just come out, I'm sorry."

I scoffed as I turned and walked away, "None of you boys ever know when it's the right time to shut up."

He followed behind, "Then do not act so suprised." he said, making me roll my eyes.

When we finally got to my house, I turned to face Zakaria, "Well this is where it ends. Goodbye, Zakaria." I said as I held my hand up.

He looked down at it with amused look and brought his hand up, "Come tomorrow to send me off at the airport. We are the Alphas siblings."

"Ask Devin Vaughn, Mat brother." I told him. He grinned down at me, those hazel eyes staring deeply at me. His grinned soften to a shy looking smiling adorably that made my heart sped up and nervousness filled up in me as I held my breath for a moment.

"Tomorrow then." he said as he turned, making me breathe out softly so he wouldn't know I was holding it. He quickly turned back to me, grabbed my chin to hold my head, and I felt his lips touch my forehead. My eyes widen so much I didn't expect possible. He held his lips there for a total of six seconds before he pulled away and turned away. He walked off the porch and walked home.

I stepped back, hitting the house door and I forgot it was there. I nervously brought my hands up against it to make sure it was the door. My heart raced so hard that I could hear it pounded in my ears. I grabbed the knob to the door and quickly ran in. I ran over towards the bathroom, turned on the sink to cold, and splashed my face with water.

Mat.

The plane Alpha Tamaz and Zakaria had to get on was ready to board. Zakaria looked at Alpha Tamaz and spoke in Georgian.

Alpha Tamaz nodded, "Alpha Matilda, thank you for having us here as your guest." he said as he turned to face Killian and I. He smiled, "I cannot wait until we meet again when you come in a month. I promise you'll love the countrysides. Has a nice old fashion European sense to it."

Zakaria reached into the bag across his shoulders and pulled out a envelope as he held it out to me, "Please give this to Aeriela. I was sure to hope her to be here to give it but it seems she could not make it." he said. I reached out, taking it with a force smile. I eyed Zakaria for a moment, praying he was the good boy he appears to be. Zakaria nodded, "Thank you for having us as your guest."

We all said our goodbyes before both brothers boarded the plane. I looked down at the envelope wondering if I should give it to Aeriela or ripe it up to keep her safe from another man. I saw in the corner of my eyes Killian looking at me and I lifted my head to look at him. I could already hear him saying 'her life, her business'. I folded the envelope up and put it in my back pocket, "We should head home. Got a busy week ahead."

Running to Jenkins didn't take Killian and I long. We met up with Will before the meeting and got everything ready. It was being held at this sorta of fancy looking club called Athena's near the Honeysea Beach. I fixed the ear piece microphone in my ear before looking behind the curtain of the stage where everyone was seated in chairs. Killian was sitting comfortably in a chair talking to some of the Alphas.

I had made sure the the tablet was set up to the projector that would shine into the white curtain.

I held onto the controller a little tightly since I was nervous. Yes, I have been to meetings before and even spoke up allot of times. I never actually held one before and actually had to present myself. It was nerve wracking a little but I cleared my throat and held my head high as I walked out.

I forced a smile as everyone quiet down, "Hello everyone, thank you all so much for coming out." I said as I walked over to my tablet that was propped up on a podium. "I know the email I sent out a week ago came as a surprise to many of y'all but I have good reasons." I clicked on the remote to dim the lights down allot to the point it all most looked dark and I turned on the projector. What was set up on my tablet now shown on the white curtain of a picture of a group of wild wolves from the 40's. "This is the ever first picture that was taken of wild rogue wolves. The humans who took this picture thought they were just some weird disturbed humans in the woods. Every once and awhile, more and more pictures of them are taken. And many of the times, these humans don't come out alive but their cameras have been found.

"With technologies these days, it's bound to risk exposure of our kinds. The wild wolves these days, their losing controls. They know the world is changing." I said as I swiped the screen to another slide where more pictures of wild wolves are. "I know, for many hundreds of years we have keep an unwritten treaty with them to never get in each other ways. But today world isn't like the world it use to be. The world they still believe it is because they refuse to live in today world. My foster sister Aeriela who you all know came from the wild. She was so amazed by the world we have because we grew up believing we still had horses driving us around.

"Now I know many of you are think 'But you are also wild blood, their also your people'. Yes, I share blood with them but," I said as I looked at them with seriousness in my eyes. "My loyalty is forever with my pack, my civilized pack. Cameras, video recorders, and everything modern can be dangerous for us. The both of us! A group of high school human boys could be messing around in their cell phones, video tape one of them shifting, and boom," I said as I snapped my fingers, "we're done. I know many of y'all like to stay with traditions but this is one we have to break.

"What I'm saying is--we raid the wild packs, place them in somewhere safe, and try to talk them in civilizing. Aeriela is a perfect example of a wild wolf civilizing-"

"Aeriela isn't a grown wolf yet." Alpha Corvin said. He sighed heavily, "Eight hundreds year we have kept peace as long as we can. You can't teach an old dog new tricks, Alpha Matilda."

"I don't believe that." I said. "Many of them probably do what to learn our world but is to scared to leave. Aeriela has told me this. Wild wolves have discovered the modern world drugs. That is gonna cause allot more risk and we'll have to pay for it." I took a deep breath to get ready again, "The children will be easy to handle since I had set up a program already discussed with Alpha Kristian to be taken to a ranch in North Dakota to be taught by these humans are involved in our world and will be taught to live in our world. The adults we'll be set in prison buildings in the isolation wing where I can interview them each. The women I feel like I can maybe reason more than the men."

"And why do you believe that?" Alpha Colonial asked.

I shrugged, "You men have allot of pride." I said, speaking before he could. "I'm in no way saying we kill them. I want to bring them into our world, guide them to live like us so we have a more protected future. Two years ago, Alpha Nathan and I have set up the new law to let rogue families rejoin packs for better lives again. It has been very successful. Why? Because their safe, comfortable, and have better futures. Wild wolves can no longer stay in a world that's no longer there.

"As I know of, there are only about six groups in America. At least fifteen in a group. What I need is your help in helping me find them and then transport them to Richmond where Oregon largest prison is and enough rooms to be filled." I said.

"And when they do fight back and it becomes to hard to handle them?" Alpha Jackson asked, arching an eyebrow.

I leaned against the podium, "If it comes to the point their ready to kill you, don't let them. If it comes to you having to kill the wild rogue--then do it. It's self defense but only if it comes to it." I stood up, "It's time they understand the world isn't how it use to be. I want them captured and taken into safety. Once we worked on them becoming civilized, then we head into the next step but letting the ones who did it into our world and reunite with their children. Of course, kept a close eye on until we're sure enough it's safe to give them a new better life."

Aeriela

I had been walking home when I heard from a group of wolves who work at Devin construction company talking across the street outside a bar. I had walked passed them as they spoke.

"They all approved to it." one said. "Their raiding the wild rogue wolves." I paused quickly about a dozen feet ahead almost but I still hears them food.

"I can't say I'm mad about this." another said. "Allot of rules have changed but Alpha Matilda has a goos point. Get them all locked up and rid of."

Rid of? What the Hell are they talking about? No, this is silly because Mat would never want to kill wild rogues for no reason. Mat hates killing even though how much wild she has in her. No, it can't be true because Mat would know not only is it wrong to take them from the only place they known but it would hurt me because that's where I come from.

I continued walking but instead of going home I quickly headed towards Mat place. Mat would have told me if she was having some meeting about this! But why would the guys lie about this? It's clear they were already talking about this before I walked passed. I'm so confused because Mat didn't even drop a hint about this.

It took a moment before I reached Mat home at the ranch. I walked up the porch and didn't even knock as I barged in.

"Mat? Mat?" I called out as I ran upstairs to her office but as I got up the stairs Ulric walked out of his room he had been staying in.

"They aren't home." Ulric told me but still curious I ran over to her office but it was empty.

"Where is she?" I coldly as I turned to face Ulric.

He shrugged, "Maybe still in Jenkins? She had a meeting there."

I walked over towards him with a cold icy look, "Did you know? What her meeting was about?"

He stared down at me, "No. We only heard about it at work from Devin. Then of course it was spread by text message. Suprising she doing this. They agreed to do it."

I turned as I ran my hands through my hair as I breathed heavily. I can't believe this! Mat of all people! Doesn't she know their not all like me! Allot are like Uncle Ramses and Aydin. Many are cold killers who won't let her just take them. But also many are just trying to survive in the only world that know. You shouldn't take something out of its home. It's like taking a lion from the jungle and expecting it to be fine with it. Also, these are my people and she wants to get "rid" of them? There are innocent children there! No, she can't do this. No, I won't let her.
