We cautiously moved passed the two hunters standing there while Lucas and I had the bags they had given us. We were unsure about what to think of them they could stab us in the back for all we know right now. I was thankful for the food and water.

We didn't even think about things like that we could've died from dehydration for not thinking about a basic need such as water. Once we stepped past that line we took a quick look around not believing that we were actually free.

We had taken our first real steps towards freedom, we started to run we needed to get out of here and that is when a bullet whizzed past us.

"WHY DIDNT YOU STOP THEM?" A very, very angry hunter shouted out accusing the other two.

"We couldn't stop them. They ran past and threatened to kill us slowly." The Woman whimpered.

Whose side was she really on?

"Stay here and let the others know where I've gone." The angry hunter replied as the woman continued to cry.

He began to chase after us, which just spurred us on harder. We were not going back there. Lucas grabbed my hand again while the vampire through the witch over his shoulder. Since it was just one hunter we could easily get away, we didn't want to kill him and leave a trail in our direction so we just ran.

The moon was still hidden behind dark rain clouds hiding us from his eyes, she was on our side for once tonight. I wanted to ask where we were going, how we were going to play out the next few days but I was too scared to talk out loud for fear that the hunter was in hearing range.

If only we could use the stupid mind links, if we are lucking all of the sliver, wolfsbane and whatever herbs it is that knocks witches and vampires around is out of all of our systems and we are back to full strength. Lucas and I will have our wolves, the witch will have proper access to her magic and the vampire, well he will just be stronger and faster.

We need these drugs out of our system, we need all the help we can get from our full strength. I know I sound like a broken record right now but it is true.

We found a large tree that could hide us again, I have no clue what the tree was I didn't bother learning any of that stuff. I mean I didn't really go to school my brothers taught me what I needed to know and I had a tutor of our pack teach me the rest, and I was still young when we were taken I hadn't finished school yet.

But I did know the basics, English, maths and basic science and wolf biological and the ways of pack life and facts that I would need to know about the witches and vampires. I am not stupid I know what I need to know.

But my brothers didn't know what to do with me with our parents not around its not like they gave them a checklist of how to raise a child.

It would've been helpful if they did.

"This one?" Lucas asked all of us in our little group of four.

I nodded, as did the witch, it looked like it would hide us well enough. It was tall and very bushy and leafy up the top it would give us the cover we need.

"It looks fine." The vampire was short and sweet with his words, come to think about it I don't think I have really heard him talk, well none of us have really spoken anything the witch and the vampire occasionally whisper to each other but I think that it is just the vampire making sure that the witch is comfortable. Lucas just speaks to me with the looks he gives me. He can say a lot with those eyes of his.

We once again climb up quickly, there is no wasting of time. The hunter wasn't exactly right behind us but we weren't taking any chances.

We were all out of breath when we reached the branches that we would hide on. I took the bag I was carrying off my back as Lucas did the same we tried to unzip them as quietly as we could but the zips had other ideas. Looking around to the ground there was no one in sight so I ripped the Band-Aid off and opened the bag up as quickly as I could.

I had a look through the bag, there wasn't overly a lot but enough to sustain us for a few days in my bag there was four 2L bottles of water and a hell of a lot of protein bars. I assumed Lucas's would be the same.

We would have to ration everything out, I took a bottle of water for me and gave Lucas the same then I passed the bag over to the witch and vampire so they could see what was in there. They both took the same.

I had about a quarter of the bottle of water, I was so thirsty that I could've had the entire bottle but I had to make it last, from here on out it would only be little sips. I ate both of the protein bars before my brain could even register that they were both gone. I hadn't realised how deep my hunger ran.

We all put everything back into my bag and taking another glance around I zipped it back up hoping that the hunter was nowhere near us to hear it.

I leaned against the trunk of the tree trying to balance myself pulling my knees up to my chest and wrapping my arms around them, I was exhausted to say the least. I kept glancing down to the ground he had to be close to us by now, we weren't very far ahead of him when we started running.

"How long will we stay here for?" I asked looking around at all three of them.

They all had no answer for me not even Lucas, they all shrugged looking around when the witch spoke up. "Why don't we stay up here until the next night the sun will be rising soon and I, I don't want to run in daylight when they can easily spot us." She had such a soft and feminine voice. It was sweet like honey.

"I agree." The vampire spoke taking her side like I thought he would. Lucas nodded as well. I guess we will be up here for a while.

We all tried to fin a comfortable spot the witch was like me and moved against the tree trunk that her branch was attached to. "We need to use this time to rest." I whispered, all of our words had to be whispered we couldn't risk them hearing us and finding our hiding spot.

It would be very hard for us to run away from them while we are stuck up a tree.

"I'll keep watch." Lucas smiled towards me in an effort to comfort me.

"So will I." I vampire spoke smiling at the witch. "Just sleep for now I will wake you later." He gave her knee a slight squeeze as he moved away to get a better view of the ground below us.

I put my head on my knees trying to will myself to sleep, I knew I wouldn't get a lot of sleep up here but my body was screaming at me to get some rest. My bones ached along with my muscles and my heart, well lets not get started on that. I want to ignore the pain until we are somewhere safe.

After a while I dosed off a little but it was very restless I would wake up every now and then or I would feel like I was falling and my body would jolt itself up.

I sighed giving up on my attempts on sleep and moved forward. "Your turn." I smiled at Lucas he deserved some rest and I had to move as my butt was falling asleep. The witch did the same not long after me.

Spending the rest of this night and all day in this tree was not going to be comfortable. The sun was just starting to rise and I took a moment to appreciate it. It was beautiful with hues of pink and orange flowing across the sky mixing and moulding together. It felt nice to watch a sunrise, it reminded me of simpler times.

I just wish that I had my brothers here to enjoy it with me. Sadness started to take over my mind and body again I felt the witch reach over and give my leg a slight squeeze. Trying to reassure me, I gave her a slight smile trying to thank her for that sign of comfort. She must be very in tune with the emotions of those around her. That or my emotions can be read like an open book.

The witch took in the sunrise as well, smiling at it. It felt nice to be able to share this small moment of peace with someone. It was our light in the dark type of moment right now. A moment when we were surrounded by beauty with nothing terrible happening to us.

The boys, somehow were able to sleep a hell of a lot better then the both of us, they were both out like a light. We let them sleep for as long as possible they deserved it, they were our strength both the witch and I knew that we were holding them back. But they refused to leave us behind.

Being up here and watching the day go by left me with time to think, I thought about the vampire was so protective over the witch and I couldn't come up with any solutions, maybe they were mates? I also wondered if I would ever be able to call them by there names, the witch and the vampires seemed very impersonal considering the situation we were in together. I thought about how Anton gave up his life for us and how much that hurt me, and about what Conner said, don't come back here.

Did he not want us to save everyone here? I don't know anything anymore. I just hope that they are alive even if that means that they are being tortured as terrible as that sounds. But I am selfish I need my family.

The sun was climbing up higher in sky when I started to hear voices below me. I wanted to move to get a better look, but fear settled into my bones. I was scared that I would make the leaves rustle and that they would look up directly at me.

Fear is a very powerful thing, it freezes me to my bones.

The witch looked at me with wide eyes when she saw them below us, she was just as scared as I was. We watched them until the sun was in the midday position in the sky.

I quietly shook Lucas awake, he had to see the scene that was forming below us. The hunters were coming in groups now and they were organised.

I could feel the wolf breaking out of the cage the drugs had put her in and I could hear clearer now which was an asset to us. I could tell Lucas and the vampire were feeling the exact same way.

Lucas and the vampire were both very startled when we did wake them but I held a finger to my lips, and I think the fear and both my eyes and the witch's eyes.

They looked below us and saw what we were seeing the hunters moving around, unlike the day before when they were wearing what ever the hell they wanted, today they were in uniforms and moving as one complete unit.

They were in groups all with large guns in there hands, I guess that they weren't sticking to there three day rule, not that I am surprised.

"Team Alpha that way!" the one was looked like the same leader as the other day shouted as he pointed to the east. "Team Beta that way!" He shouted point to the west "And Team Delta with me this way!" He pointed south. "The rest of you stay here, you may come across them." His voice was still as gruff as the other times I had heard it

"And remember." He paused making sure to look at everyone. "Shoot to kill." They all nodded and went off in there own directions while the ones staying made a perimeter.

I gulped this was definitely not a good sign, and why were they using our terms of Alpha, Beta and Delta? Did they know what it meant to us wolves? I don't think so otherwise the leader would be in the Alpha team.

"I guess we will be here for awhile." Lucas whispered looking down below us. I couldn't help but agree with him.

We watched as teams went back and forth between where we were and where they were searching, fear was taking control of my body I was too scared to move and at times breathe.

"Alright we come back tomorrow!" The leader shouted clearly angry that he hadn't found us, that made me smile a little bit that we had outsmarted him.

The sun was setting, this was a good thing for us. We could run tonight and hopefully put more distance between them and us. We watched and waited while they moved out and then waited some more just to ensure that they weren't waiting around for us. When we though that the coast was clear we climbed down the tree and took off running into the night.
