CHAPTER 21
Ranboo shot an arrow at another target, smiling at the bullseye in success. Eret, who stood next to him, gave a proud smile themselves. “You’re really good with that bow.” The king says, looking towards the other.
“Thank you.” He says. Karl, who was on the enderman’s other side, smiled brightly as he aimed his own bow at the target next to Ranboo’s own.
“The bow is fun, I’ll admit.” Karl says, letting the arrow go as he talked. It too was a bullseye.
“The bow is a very old weapon, one that was around before tridents, and even swords at a time.” Eret says, pulling their own arrow back as they aimed. “It was mandatory. I learned it when I was still a prince.” He let it go, watching as they too got a bullseye. “I never complained though, ax’s were impractical in my opinion, and swords were fun, but the bow always called my name.”
“Ranboo!” Said male looked behind himself, seeing Tubbo making his way across the field to them. “Ranboo! Come hang out with me!” He says, finally skidding to a stop in front of the other hybrid.
“Tubbo? Weren’t you training with Technoblade at the ax field?” The goat hybrid frowned, grabbing the tallers free hand to drag him away. Eret and Karl were surprised, smiling fondly as the ender hybrid stumbled to keep balance.
“This reminds me of when I was young, still just dating Sapnap and Quackity.” Eret chuckled, setting his bow down.

Tubbo dragged the other away, a smile taking over his face. Technoblade had let him leave so the other could train by himself. He hurried all the way to Ranboo once he took his armor off. Now, Tubbo was dragging the tall ender hybrid into the woods to explore. It was one of his favorite things to do, explore new things.
Every time he could, he’d explore around the castle, sometimes Tommy coming along if he didn’t have homework or it was one of his free days. Tubbo missed Tommy, he couldn’t wait to get the other back. Then all three of them could explore, but knowing Tommy he’ll start his royal rule over the Dreamer kingdom, even if it was his evil brother’s home. Tubbo would serve under Tommy anyways, and he knew Ranboo would too.
Walking through the forest was relaxing, letting both forget about the pending war that would occur soon. “Ranboo?” Tubbo asked, his grip on the other’s hand tightening.
“Yes, Tubbo?” His voice was soft, as if the other could pick up on his distress.
“I- What if we don’t get Tommy back?” His voice was small as he spoke. But even if he wanted to deny it, it was always a possibility that they would never get the blond back. “What if he hates us after we kill Dream?” Ranboo was quiet as he climbed onto a log, the goat hybrid following suit.
“I don’t think he’ll hate us when we do. He was helping with the plan when we first wanted to kill him.” He says, sadly smiling. Tubbo sighs, looking at the army of trees before them, his grip on the other’s hand slightly loosening, but Ranboo squeezed his hand, pulling the other closer to him as he smiled. “And, if he does hate us, then we still have each other. We can’t blame him fully, dream raised him, taught him everything he knows. No matter who kills him, it’ll hurt. We’ll just have to be there for him.” Tubbo nodded, letting himself lean into Ranboo, who wrapped his arm around him.
“Thank you, Ranboo.” The ender hybrid looked down, smiling brighter.
“Anything for you, Tubbo.”

Philza sat at Quackity’s bed, blue eyes looking out the window in the room as he waited for the other avian to waken. “You know, your youngest son might hate you after this battle.” Grian said as he walked into the room, setting down two plates for the unconscious avain, and Phil.
“I know, if what you say is true. Then the few memories I made with him are gone. He might not remember me.” The blond spoke, taking one of the plates on the nightstand to eat. The other was quiet for a moment.
“He wanted to kill me, when I killed king Dream.” The room fell silent at Grians confession. “He had this determined look on his face as he spoke.” Philza’s grip on the plate tightened, eyes still not moving from his plate of food.
“Tommy is a stubborn kid, when he’s set on something, he doesn’t give up easily.” The king says, smiling fondly. Grian sighs, sitting down across from the other avian.
“He’ll snap out of it. I assure you, you’ll get your son back.” Philza slouched, letting himself nod before he picked up the fork on his plate. “Let’s just get this over with, once he is dead I’m sure everything will be fine.” He says. The dirty blond male looks over to Quackity, eyes cloudy.
“Hopefully he wakes soon.” The room was quiet for a moment, Philza eating, and Grian studying the still sleeping avian's face. That was, until Quackity randomly sat up, screaming like an enderman dying due to his uncontrollable avian ability. Philza dropped his plate, screaming in return, and Grian flew back out of surprise, falling onto the ground with a loud thump. When he finally stopped, he looked at Philza, still trying to catch his breath. He looked dazed for a moment, before realization set in, and anger soon after that. It scared the two avians greatly to see the other like this.
“Where the fuck, is Egg.” Quackity was on a mission, not even a minute after he asked that question he was up and ready to punch someone. Philza was scared for the god, and Grian was just amused, silently laughing at the situation. The avian was fuming, wings flared in anger.
“Please, Quackity, you've been out for some time, you need to calm down!” Philza starts, hands up as he tries to calm the other down.
“Fuck no, I am not calming the fuck down!” He yells again. “That bitch gave me powers without consent!” He was boiling with rage, and now the two other avians knew why. Grian stood frozen, shocked, while Phil looked like he held sympathy for the other. “Where are they!” He made his voice low, eyes cold as they met Philza’s own. The door creaked open, the god that Quackity had been yelling about entering the room. “You!”
“Yes, it is me, Quackity.” Egg says, shutting the door after themselves as they speak. “Now, let’s discuss your abi-”
“I don’t want this ability! I don’t want to be a king!” Grian looked between the fuming avian, and the calm god in fear.
“Well, too bad Quackity. Once powers are given, powers can not be taken back.” Egg explained. “That’s why executions take place if a general of the Egg kingdom takes place.” The other explains. Quackity was stunned, anger still evident in the other. The blackette left the room after that, leaving the god, and the two avians alone. Philza looked at the god, almost disappointed, before he left the room. Grian glared, seeping with his own rage.
“What you did was stupid, and not right on many levels.” The other said. Egg crossed their arms, raising a brow as the other spoke.
“Please, I know what will happen in the future. What I did was only seal fate.” With that they turned around, leaving Grian alone in the room. Sometimes, he wished he could rip his fellow gods heads off.
One Day Later. . .
“You.” The avian looked back to the blond, seeing his eyes watering. “Your Theseus, that's what I named you.”
“When we were attacked by the Dreamer kingdom the first time, your mothers last life was used up.” Tommy was confused on where this was going, but listened quietly to the story. “But I never told you something else that happened that night, or why your mother wasn’t hiding with you two after hiding you guys. She went back for your baby brother, but was killed by Dream before she could get back to you two with him. His name was Theseus, and he was kidnapped that night during the attack.”
“He’s attacked other kingdoms as well, killing rulers and taking over. We were lucky enough to live through that, along with a few others like ‘The Egg’ kingdom.”
It was snippets, but Tommy knew they meant something. He just didn’t know what yet. The last one though, it stuck to him. Dream wasn’t a killer, he only fought for what was best for his kingdom, right? His grip on his blankets tightened as he thought. He knew Dream, his older brother wasn’t a killer. Why did he keep seeing that blond man, saying he was his son? None of this made sense to him. Tommy was confused.
“Tommy!” Dream came down below deck, smiling as his eye landed on Tommy. Tommy hesitantly smiled, sitting up from his bed as Dream grew closer. “Are you ready for some training? I want to train with you before we leave tomorrow.” His voice was so cheerful, his green eyes sparkling as he spoke. Tommy smiled, wings fluffing in happiness before nodding happily.
“Yes! I would love to train with you again!” Tommy was sure those blurry snippets meant nothing, he had no reason to doubt Dream. Dream wasn’t a killer, he was a kind ruler, a loving brother, and protector of the Dreamer kingdom. Tommy grabbed his sword and followed the other out of the lower decks, smiling the whole time.
