Part 6

They were now in Sasuke's apartment.

After a long walk through the streets of Konoha. The original team 7 and the twin Hyuuga's received confused and surprised looks throughout their entire trek. Reason being: the fact that team 7's stoic Uchiha had been carrying one of the Hyuuga twins- much to Sakura's dissatisfaction.  He refused to let her walk, even though she insisted that she could.

Right now, team 7 and Shikamaru, sat at the island in the middle of the Uchiha's kitchen. The Hyuuga girls were currently in his bathroom, Hinata was helping Hikari freshen up.

"Sasuke-kun, what is going on?" Sakura asked, as took a sip from her tea, try to keep her jealousy out of her voice. Kakashi opened his book and started reading as the conversation continued,

"Yeah, Teme, who is she and how do you know her?" Naruto asked, leaning closer, Shikamaru stood back, not really paying attention thinking that that much was obvious,

"Well you already know who she is and I know her because she was the first friend I have ever made," Sasuke said, he had been trying to work on his social skills since he got back to the village, knowing full well that he was not known for being approachable. He chose to at least be a little more transparent, not wanting history to ever repeat itself for him and his clan. No matter how uncomfortable and energy-consuming it was.

He watched as Sakura and Naruto's faces moved from confused to shocked,

"B-But when Sasuke-Kun? You were always alone before..." Sakura tried, kind of ashamed that she knew that he was alone all the time because she always followed him around with the rest of her friends.

"Correction, I was always alone whenever you saw me... Whenever you did not see me I was usually with her," Sasuke explained, also trying to not mention her fangirl past, which she has tried to grow from, Naruto listened closely, he did not know much about Sasuke before his clan's massacre,

"Well there was always the few times that Sasuke would get away and play with me and my friends back then, ironically Sasuke and Hikari always opted to be the bad guys, but  I guess it worked out for them that way whenever they disappeared, it was just as if the bad guys got away and the game wouldn't really end," Shikamaru added,

"Hikari thought the same, even then sometimes Ino would come watch, so it's not like no one knew where we were," Sasuke added,

"But the only other time we didn't see you is when you were at home..." she commented.

"Well yes..." Sasuke replied, Naruto's eyebrows shot up,

"Are you saying that you two used to play together in the Uchiha compound?!" Naruto asked in shock, all the village knew that the Uchiha were not the most welcoming clan when it came to having outsiders on their property. Sakura also looked shocked, knowing the looks that she and the rest of the fangirls got when they tried entering the compound or asking where their love interest was.

"Yes, we used to play there and at my house, "  Sasuke replied, as he leaned forward, resting his chin on his upturned palm, while his elbow was on the countertop, he was developing a headache from going through his newly returned memories.

"...in your house?...but-," Sakura asked,

"I thought the Uchiha compound was off-limits to the public," Naruto interrupted,

"Well, there was no written document that actually said that, we just preferred to not allow the public in," Sasuke explained, "but I guess if the clan head's son dragged someone into the compound, the rest of the clan did not have a problem with it,"

"You dragged her in?" Naruto commented more than asked, chuckling at the thought,

"Well, kind of yes, she did not think it was a good idea at the time, but my mother and father did not seem to mind, so-" Sasuke continued to explain, not really understanding what Naruto found humorous in the situation.

"-If I remember correctly, they were quite fond of me," Hikari chuckled from the doorway, all eyes turn to her and saw that she was standing there in grey shorts and a loose white t-shirt,  her long hair was still wet from her bath, her eyes trained on the Uchiha, whose eyes were trained on her.

He could not help but stare at her, she was always beautiful, since they were young she held the gaze of many boys from the academy and received proposals from suitors nationwide, needless to say, it was a difficult time for Sasuke constantly keeping his jealousy in check.  Somehow she managed to become even more beautiful over the years, every time he looked at her, he was rendered breathless, despite how sickly she looked from being sealed for so long. The clothes that adorned her were supposed to be so casual for anybody, but on her, she somehow managed to look as stunning as a bride on her wedding day. He blushed slightly at the thought. He used to admire her when they were younger but it never affected him this way. These feelings felt deeper and more mature. They were the kinds of feelings that often required a plan to execute thereafter. He could not believe that he was able to have feelings like this about anyone. He realized that they were still maintaining eye contact, he felt as though she was busy reading his mind, how could she be so calm? His mind traveled to his confession in his dream all those years ago, she knew. She definitely knows.

"Onee-chan, I was not done d-drying your hair," Hinata scolded behind her, gathering Hikari's hair behind her with a towel in her hands, Hikari let out an irritated huff,

"Come on Hinata, surely it can dry on its own, you have done more than enough for me, sister, " she responded, even in her attire and the informal conversation the twins were having, the older still happened to have a regal air about her, she stood up straight as if it were a sin to slouch and even as tired out as she felt, her words did not slur. Hinata seemed to agree and settled for making her sister's hair in a braid,

"How was your bath, Hikari-san?" Naruto asked, smiling at his girlfriend's look-a-like,

"It was quite eventful Naruto-kun," Hikari replied, offering him a friendly smile back,

"Needless to say, I was quite shocked to see how my body has developed, given that I have not seen it since before puberty," she continued with a grin, she saw the men in the room struggle to keep a straight face, Hinata blushed and was about to comment on how improper the topic was,

"And might I add, that if my twin sister's body mirrors mine, the same way her face does then...Naruto-kun you are a lucky man," Hikari finished, chuckling as everyone in the room started blushing,

"O-On-Onee-!" Hinata tried to stutter out but fainted halfway through the word, Hikari caught her sister's body before it fell, chuckling at the fact that she still fainted while being teased. Naruto shot up immediately his girlfriend, not expecting her frail-looking sister to respond so quickly, given that Hinata had been standing behind her. However, Hikari had once more managed to surprise him. He smiled at her and took his semi-unconscious girlfriend from her sister's arms.

"I suppose it is getting late and I should probably return the Hyuuga Matriarch to her compound before they send out their runners," Naruto said, adjusting Hinata in his arms,

" That is a good idea Naruto, We have to head back to the office and finish up some things," Kakashi stated closing his book and slipping it into his vest as he stood up, Shikamaru followed suit,

"What a drag," he mumbled knowing full well that the Hokage would not be touching his work and would just go back to reading. Making their way towards the exit, Kakashi looked over to Sakura, who did not look like she wanted to go, this was the first time she was in Sasuke's apartment, and for obvious reasons, she did not want to leave.

"Come along Sakura, I am sure Tsunade will be looking for you," Kakashi said over his shoulder. She let out a sigh and followed.

The two saw the rest of team seven off, as the sun started setting over Konoha.

"Quite an interesting bunch of friends you have made, Sasuke," Hikari said as they entered the kitchen,

"We haven't spoken in years and that's the first thing you choose to say to me the moment we are alone?" Sasuke asked incredulously and pulled her to his chest in a hug. She chuckled and returned the hug.

"Sasuke, you've gone and grown up without me," She replied, her eyes filled with unshed tears, as she imagined all that he has gone through without her, especially where Itachi was concerned, she held onto the back of his shirt tighter,

"Hikari, you grew up too," he replied, even though he knew what she meant,

"Let's get you ready for bed,"
