Part 5
The room was now, quiet and significantly emptier. The branch family buzzed around cleaning up after the event, however, it was quite evident that most of them were listening in on the current meeting being held.
"So what you are telling me is that Kakashi-sensei knew about this?" Sasuke asked from where he was sitting across from the table. The malice and killer intent was apparent in his voice causing a shiver to run down Naruto's spine. He felt kind of out of place not really understanding what was going on.
Naruto sat next to Hinata who was staring at her sister worriedly, her sister still looks a lot like her, however, Hikari's hair was much longer, probably till behind her knees and her gaze held a much more mature and strong aura to them. Hinata had round innocent eyes, whereas Hikari's had always been more mature, almond-shaped. What was worrying Hinata was the dark circles under her sister's eyes and her dented cheeks, Hikari looked like she had not eaten or slept in years. However, she refused to eat, because she believed that any food served to her, in the Hyuuga household, would be poisoned. Even then she was struggling to remain awake, as the top half of her body leaned against a fuming Sasuke, she seemed to be unaffected by the dark aura radiating off him. She even tried to get her sister to go get changed as all her sister was wearing was a kimono that looked a little to small for her, but to her dismay, Sasuke refused to let Hikari leave his sight. Hikari assured her sister that she felt okay and that she should not worry, that did not stop Hinata though.
Hinabi, stood close to the table observing, she could not believe that she had another sister. The problem that she was faced with, is that she did not have many memories of the other sister, to begin with, Hinata had always been a mother figure in her eyes, but Hikari She barely ever saw Hikari, because her father always had Hikari training somewhere or getting taught something to her. Hinabi's gaze went to her actual eldest sister, who's eyes twitched as they fought against drooping. She looked completely exhausted, so weak, which puzzled Hikari even more because less than a moment ago the mighty Uchiha and the Hokage was struggling to pin her down as she tried to attack their father and the elders. There was no doubt that the frail women, attached to the Uchiha's side was powerful. She also could not understand the connection that her sister had to the Uchiha, apparently, they were childhood friends, but that did not explain why they were so protective over each other. She scanned the rest of the room, the Hokage, the elders, their father, Shikamaru and the rest of the original team 7 was there, Naruto, the village idiot looked more lost than anything else and the pinkette was struggling to hide the glares she was sending to Hikari's frail form that was leaning against Sasuke. This caused Hinabi to smirk slightly, this is going to be an interesting dynamic.
"The Hokage would be aware of it, as she was sealed with the Hokage's permission" Hiashi answered. Sasuke then sent a glare to his sensei, who held up his hands in defence,
"He is talking about Tsunade, none of this happened when I was in charge," Kakashi said,
"But doesn't the new Hokage have to go over all policies once he ascends to his position?" Nauto said scratching his chin in thought, to which Kakashi sweat-dropped. Naruto had been educating himself In all the policies and steps a Hokage should take, as he would need to know if when he ascended.
"You are correct Naruto, but our Hokage seems to always busy himself by reading other...reading materials," Shikamaru said giving Kakashi an 'I-told-you-so' look. Which made him shrink in his seat.
"A-Anyway, now that Hikari has returned, what is going to happen here?" Kakashi asked, changing the subject,
"W-What do you mean Kakashi-sama?" Hinata asked,
"Hikari is the rightful head of the clan from what I gathered..." Kakashi explained, scowls made their ways to the elder's faces, as Hiashi was about to speak against the notion,
" Rest assured, I have no wish in having anything to do with this godforsaken clan," Hikari spoke up, her voice was raspy, but it held such power, the room seemed to become quieter whenever she spoke. Sasuke and Hinata looked at her frail form, even in her state, she held the same regal aura that a queen would possess. A true heir.
The Hyuuga elders did not take this lightly and were about to rebut, but they stopped by the Hokage's voice,
"Very well Miss Hikari, but if this is the case, where will you stay?" Kakashi asked, fully aware that the Hyuuga's provide their clansmen with accommodation.
"With me, of course," Sasuke spoke up almost immediately, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, this caused most of the room to gasp, as a smirk made it's way to Hikari's lips. Sakura was glaring daggers at the girl, while Shikamaru, Kakashi and Naruto sat with their eyebrows raised. Hinabi was tempted to ask one of the branch members to bring her pop-corn because things were becoming more and more interesting.
"V-Very well s-sister, I will go back a bag of spare clothes and things for you, that's j-just until you are w-well enough f-for me to take you shopping," Hinata said standing up,
"With Hyuuga funds, I think not, I-" Hiashi started,
"I do not recall asking for your c-consent, father" Hinata interrupted him, sending him the harshest glare she could muster, which was not that intimidating, but the fact that she tried to do it made the elders gasp,
"The last time I checked, I a-am clan head" She stated and left without waiting for a reply, this made Hikari smirk and sit up straighter, much to Sasuke's dissatisfaction. Hinabi could not believe what her own eyes just witnessed, she turned back and saw Hikari's proud smirk... She is the reason Hinata was behaving so out of character....that's when the Eldest Hyuuga sister's eyes met with hers, Hikari smiled at their youngest sister and watched as her sister struggled on finding a way to react.
"This is all your doing, you fiend!" An elder shouted and pointed at Hikari, Sasuke bristled and was prepared to say something, but he felt Hikari place her hand on his knee, she squeezed it, signaling him to calm down,
"Indeed it is, then again, one would point out that it was you who bound me to a scroll," Hikari said, sounding bored,
"Your own actions have made the entire clan loose faith in you all, " Hikari pointed out and paused to breathe, Sasuke kept a watchful gaze on her,
"The Hyuuga clan shall never be the same again, just you wait and see, this is... the beginning of a new era, your ways shall die out with you" She ended off, her eyes were the same colour as any other Hyuuga, but they could swear it was glowing as she spoke.
A shiver ran down Kakashi's back as he looked at the girl sitting next to his student. She was truly something else, he still could not understand how a girl that was sealed away in a scroll for so many years could hold so much strength, Kakashi almost broke a sweat when he was holding her down, with the help of Sasuke, however, he sensed that the Uchiha was not using much of his strength...as if he was trying to be gentle. This was really taking the Hokage by surprise. He watched them. They were so comfortable with each other as if they had been together for years, which was even more bizarre because Sasuke was not like this even when he was around people who had been in his life for years. Sasuke seemed to be extremely on guard at this moment, every time she moved, he looked at her checking if she was okay. Every time her breath faltered Sasuke's whole body would tense. Hinata came back with a bag and was quietly explaining talking to Hikari about something he could not make out. Kakashi, then realized that Hikari's arm was angled in an odd way as she turned to listen to Hinata, his gaze followed her arm till it went under the table...it seemed.. to be...in or on Sasuke's lap. This caused a blush to rise on the Hokage's face as his mind created conclusions as to what was going on under the table. Sasuke felt his Sensei's gaze and looked over to see his sensei looking at the spot where the table hid Hikari's hand on his knee, Sasuke only then realized his position and a blush made its way to his cheeks. His reaction caused his sensei to struggled to hold in a gasp.
"Okay, we are leaving" Sasuke suddenly announced, as he struggled to regain his composure.
