Part 4
The scroll started opening and a silverish-lavender-like chakra started seeping from it, moving almost like thick heavy smoke. It held immense strength, Hinata immediately recognized it, it felt so familiar, she could remember feeling the presence of that powerful chakra since the moment she could remember, it belonged to her twin sister.
"Come Hikari," She whispered and pumped more of her chakra into the scroll, speeding up the process. The silver chakra started spilling out faster, like the steam from a boiling kettle. Its strength grew, causing many to gasp at its sheer power.
Sasuke watched the event closely, he too recognized the chakra,
Flashback
"What do you mean you do not want to spar with me?!" Hikari asked more than angered by the fact that Sasuke -who trains in almost all his spare time- refused to train with her. This had been a regular occurrence, she finally got him to play with her regularly, however, he always refused to train with her
"Hikari, no offense, you are a girl and my father says that you should never hit a girl unless she is about to kill you in battle, i-it's an Uchiha thing" Sasuke explained, crossing his arms, eyes closed in discomfort,
"Okay, so how about I attack and you dodge?" She tried again, her patience wearing thin, she did not have time to debate, and her tutors would be looking for her soon enough. They would grab her and take her away, forcing her to cram useless information such as 'Shinobi Politics' in her head and refuse to let her go play or train.
"Then we are wasting our time because we are both only training half of our abilities, how about we just play, instead," Sasuke said,
"No Sasuke, getting stronger is more important, how about chakra control?" She said walking closer to him,
"What about chakra control?" He asked slightly intrigued, she held up her hand and released some chakra, it flowed out bright silver,
"Your chakra is a funny colour" he commented as he stared at her hand, she giggled and his very blunt comment,
"I know, my father said it has a lot to do with my potential strength, I think its a super boring colour," not taking her eyes off the shimmering fog emerging from her palms,
"Really? I think it's kinda pretty," Sasuke commented before he could catch his tongue, once he realized what he said, a light blush littered his cheeks and he avoided her milky gaze,
"You think so?" She too had a blush on her face,
"H-Hn" he replied still avoiding her gaze, she immediately started smiling,
"Thanks, but now I feel like I learned how to change its colour for no reason," she complained,
"You know how to change its colour?!" Sasuke asked baffled, that she- who was not even a genin yet- had such a skill.
"I figured that because people can tell a lot about you simply by your chakra's colour, I decided that learning how to manipulate its colour, without manipulating its core characteristics would be a useful skill-" the chakra in her hand went from silver to dark purple and then black, "- I don't expect you to learn it right now but just so that you know, it all starts with having the ability to sense chakra then the necessary dojutsu to be able to see-"
she continued explaining her method to him, he hung onto every word, even after she was erased from his memory, he constantly found himself practicing how to change its colour, he found himself only able to do it once he was training under Orochimaru, he never understood why he knew the importance of having the skill, he just knew he had to.
End of Flashback
Standing there, Sasuke remembered how he always made his chakra look purple and how it only naturally became purple after he acquired the rinnegan. He remembered that that very, day the two of them decided on purple together because he liked her natural silver, she added a little purple thus making it appear lavender, they wanted it to match because of a promise they made that day, they promised to grow in strength together, anyone else was their competition, but they were a team.
He was pulled out of his thoughts, as he saw a burst of ebony hair and a body about to fall, just then his instincts kicked in and he flashed to the stage and caught the body of the unconscious woman just before she hit the ground,
"Hikari" he whispered in shock staring at the much-matured face of his first friend.
Sasuke was so much in his own mind he that he did not notice the amount of shock everyone else was in because of his sudden behavior. Naruto was trying his best to contain himself as he was going to be Hokage soon and he could not just react any way he wanted to anymore. The branch members were first to react,
"Hands off Hikari-sama!" They started moving closer, Sasuke who still had Hikari in his arms took a defensive stance,
"No, it's okay," Hinata said,
"My lady. b-but why? That is Sasuke Uchiha, he could hurt he-"
"S-Sasuke?" A new voice was heard, and everyone's eyes went to the woman in Sasuke's arms, her eyes hooded eyes were looking at Sasuke, clouded in confusion,
"Yes, it's me, I'm here" He answered, as he lowered to his knees holding her in his arms, knowing that his knees could give out at any given time,
"Sasuke Uchiha," she said his name again, her eyes started widening in realization and she started hyperventilating,
"Hikari, calm down, what is it?" Sasuke asked in concern, as he noticed tears started brimming her eyes
"I-I " tears started running down her porcelain cheeks, Sasuke immediately moved to wipe them away,
"I'm s-sorry" she was bawling at this point in time,
"For what Hikari?" he said, still working at wiping away her tears,
"A-As soon as I-I" sob "found out I t-tried to t-tell" sob "you as soon as I c-could" she struggled out between sobs,
"Found what out?"
"T-They made nii-sama do it" she burst out into tears,
"ka-san... to-san...it was not his fault...." she struggled out between her sobs, Sasuke sat back in shock, the crying girl in his arms knew about the massacre, but she was sealed away before it happened...
"Y-You knew about it before it happened" he whispered breathlessly, Hinata gasped and cupped her hands over her mouth at the same realization,
"Lady Hikari had overheard the conversation when the orders were given to Itachi, he soon realized out that she eavesdropped, restrained her and reported it, she was supposed to be assassinated but Itachi said that he would refuse to do the mission if she were to be harmed, so we tried to have her memory erased but she attacked Inoichi anytime he tried to get anywhere near her, that's when we tried to negotiate with her to play along, she lead us to believe that she would, but the moment we turned around, she ran to go tell the Uchiha's, fortunately, once again Itachi caught her, then he came up with idea to seal her and helped us with the ritual, she was supposed to only stay in there until, the massacre had been completed, which is what happened, the hokage and Itachi, release her a week after the massacre, once she found out that what happened while she was sealed, she attacked the both of them like a possessed fiend and then we requested that she be resealed seeing that nothing and no one could control her, she managed to do a jitsu, at the time we did not know what the purpose of it was made her appear in the dreams of her loved ones, that's why Hinata-sama and Sasuke were able to remember" one of the elders explained,
"I believe that brings us to the end of the ceremony" Kakashi, who had arrived late but was just time to see the happenings unfold, everyone murmured as he made his way to the stage in his Hokage garments,
"Did I not make myself clear? Leave!" He commanded a bit louder. This got everyone's attention and they all started leaving the premises.
