Hungry Darkness

A shadow hungers only light

They become alive with flames at night

A little girl she calls my name

Every night it's the same old game

This never-ending flood of fear

Of all I had ever held so dear

It's lost forever nevermore

All the glitter turned to gore

Thousand candles lit but still

No enlightenment only feeling ill

I feel sickness breathing down my neck

Dark shadows clawing on my back

As sweet smells enrich the room

Death's scent brings nothing but doom

Like every night when he comes for me

When there's still so much left to see
