8: Girls, Girls, Girls

As he walked up to Naji's grandfather, he quickly signed his question.

Where is my girl?

It was easier to say this than to try and explain your name sign.

With my grandson's friend. There's another strange girl here too. Green hair.

Kidou sighed. Of course he would run into Ilie here.

Thanks, old man.

He walked towards the sound of Naji, figuring that Ilie would be with him and unbeknownst to him, began eavesdropping on a conversation about him.

"I... need to go back. I'll go back to the person who saved me." She suddenly grabbed her cheek. "But he's suck a jerk! He hit my face!"

"Are you serious!? He's a man, right? And he hit a woman!? What scum! Disgraceful! Sadist! Pervert!" Naji threw out all the insults.

"But... if he didn't do that, I probably would have sat there crying and died there. That's why I have to go back. He'll probably get mad at me, coming back after all day being gone... but he might be worried about me... I will never be able to see my father or go back to my house. But I'll live here carrying on their memory." Kidou turned around. Ilie was fine and was going to return on her own volition. He was free to go see you now. "I'm done running away."

He handed the old man some money and the picture of Ilie and her father. Then, he walked back to his bike.

"Wait!!" He heard behind him, causing a slight scowl to arise. Why was this girl always interrupting his plans? "I'm sorry! You told me not to throw a tantrum and yet I just left without telling anyone! I'm sorry! Please!! Take me back one more time, Kidou-san!"

He was stuck now. He might as well just take her home. Pulling out a helmet that he usually gave to you, he tossed it on Ilie's head.

"What are you doing... stop adding san to my name. Just Kidou's fine." He waved her forward.  "Let's go, kid."

A huge smile lit up Ilie's face and she ran toward the bike.

"Oh! Lavender! I love it! Thank you for bringing it Kidou! I knew you weren't that scary."

An awkward feeling rushed over Kidou and he couldn't figure out what to do. He couldn't correct her that the flowers weren't for her without telling her about you. He sighed and took the loss. You'd understand.

The drive back to the bar was quiet, but when he parked, Ilie ran into the bar and profusely apologized to Mario for the trouble she had caused.

"It's okay, Ilie-chan!"Mario cooed. "I'm just glad Kidou-san acted like a man and brought you back with flowers!"

Kidou rubbed the back of his head. He'd have to keep quiet.

"I'm going back out. Keep this one out of trouble, 'kay?" Kidou remarked as he turned and walked out the door.

"Where does he go?" He heard Ilie ask Mario.

"I don't know and I've never asked. People like him value their privacy. Heck, I haven't even been in his room for more than a quick sweep."
