Day Two
"Many people have the heart
to give back,
but a lot don't know how to.
I try to be the bridge
for those people.
Whether that means getting them
involved in one of my campaigns
or inspiring them
by showing them a blueprint of
how to get others
Engaged."

All Friends Starts Out As Strangers
All morning, I've been suppressing the urge to go to The CoffeeShop. A nagging voice keeps reminding me the possibility of seeing him again.
I grab my favorite cereal Cheetos from the cabinet, a bowl, and carton of milk.
Extreme proximity of him hibernated my brain.
As I finish serving myself, Chase appears out of nowhere, snagging the bowl from me.
"Mine!"
"Thanks!" Plopping down on the barstool, he begins eating.
I bite my lips, exasperatedly. "I hate you, sometimes!!!"
"Yeah, love you more sis."
Coffee urge supersedes anybody!

My eyes darts across to his spot in a non stalkerish way.
He isn't here.
Sliding into a seat with ease, I sip and cradle my cup, lost in thoughts... Either for inspirations, free WiFi, shots of Coffee, or to feel less alone. No matter how full of chatter a coffeeshop is, everybody is a nobody.
Frosty breeze roll in as the door swings open, I cling onto my coat for more warmth.
"Can I sit?"
My skin jumps in surprise, I nod hesitantly.
Smelling musky and chocolaty. He's in a short-sleeved black shirt, showing off muscles. His hair is a little messy, not for lack of hygiene.
"Thanks." He sits, flashing a perfect grin. "Sorry about yesterday."
My eyes flicker to his handsome face, nibbling on my cuticle.
I hear mom's voice.
Stop! It's so unladylike to bite your nail.
"You're cute when you smile."
Looking away, I fight the blush threatening to appear. Is he really flirting with someone like me?
"Am I that intimidating, or you're not much of a talker?"
"What are you doing here?" I show him my phone.
He cocks his head slightly, smirking. "To make you fall in love with me."
My heart beats rapidly, widening my eyes as I blink at him.
Instantly he starts laughing. "Relax Betty-Butter, I'm only kidding."
"So, will you talk to me now? I promise, I just want to be a friend." He smiles, showing his Colgate dentition.
"I'm mute." Tucking my hair behind my ear.
Clearing his throat, "Were you born mute?"
"Knowing you for less than ten minutes, I'd say that's barely enough time to divulge all there's to know about myself. I don't even know your name."
He leans back in his chair, studying me. "Let's play a game, I'll tell you something about myself then you'll return the favor?"
A small smile play on my lips before downing my coffee. "Okay, you start."
"I'm Cameron Mica Boyce."
"I'm Chelsea Alice McAndrews."
"I'm twenty by May 28."
"I turn nineteen by next year November 7."
A soft ding from my phone catch us both off guard.
Chase: Sis, I'm sorry! 😔
Chase: Chelsea, please come back home.
Chase: Don't hate me, I love you.
Chase: I'll buy you tacos for a WHOLE month.
"I've got to go."
His face fall and he cross his arms.
I feel a twinge of remorse, now I want to take it back to see his smile again.
Noticing a scar.
A pale scar trailing up his wrist, to the side of his elbow sparks my interest. Holding back the small shred of curiosity dancing in the pit of my heart. I think it'd be weird probing into his personal life like that.
He raise an eyebrow as if to say, what?
Before I know, I'm already asking. "What did that to you?"
He smirks. "I'll tell you tomorrow. I need an excuse to see you again."
"So, tomorrow then?"
"Yep, I'll be an open book ready for you to read."
"Bye Cameron."
"I'll see you tomorrow Betty-Butter."
