"oh all alone today?"

"yeah, allura got sick so keith is watching over her and hunk is having a family reunion."

"well isn't that timed perfectly."

"what do you mean?"

"i so happen to finish work in about 5 minutes or so and was looking for something to do."

"oh well that does work in our favor doesn't it?" i wrapped my arm around her waist, pulling her closer to me. she placed both of her hands on my chest.

"what are you planning?" katie smirked.

"i don't know, let's find out." i suggested and she almost, just almost leaned into a kiss, but then.

"katie come here to finish these cookies, your not leaving until you frost them." sam called out to her.

"got it dad." and she pulled away, leaving me and heading to the f.d. why did sam have to call her! i grunted sitting back down.

i wouldn't say katie and i we're together, no we aren't dating, but at the same time it feels like we are. it's only been a week though so i'm probably over my head.

ten minutes passed by and i was eating one of katie's peanut butter cookies, no milkshakes today. until katie jumped me.

"you know where we haven't been? the arcade." she pressed her chin on my hair, but then she quickly pulled away. "lance."

"yeah?"

"you have a grey hair."

"wait what!" and at that moment i don't even know if what i said was in english or even words, but i said it. "areyouseriousrightnowicantbelieveitimonlysixteen!" katie on the other hand had no words, because she was to busy laughing her ass off. "your terrible, you know that."

"maybe if you weren't being such a grumpy pants, i wouldn't have had to cheer you up." she titled my chair back. "now come on! the arcade closes at 4 and its 3 o'clock right now." she was staring into my eyes and i was looking up at her. we stayed that way for a while until her face got beat red. "uh um- the arcade, right!" she walked towards the door and paused, taking in a deep breath she walked out the door. i've never seen her this way, yes i've seen her flustered, but not up to this point.

i went up to the cashier and paid for the cookies, then i walked out the door. not knowing where katie was i naturally looked to my left and saw her crouched on the ground doing something. i tried to take a peek before asking her, but i saw nothing so i just gave up.

"katie what are you doing?" i laughed as i tapped on her shoulder.

"meep!" she was holding something that she hurriedly put in her jacket pocket before standing up to face me. "oh lance, when did you get here." she laughed nervously, but i wasn't buying it.

"what was that?"

"what was what?" she looked to the side, which is a obvious i'm lying look.

"the thing that you just put in your pocket."

"oh uh it was my phone." she took her phone out her pocket. "see just a phone, now let's go." she shoved the phone back in her pocket after waving the it in her hand. i knew she was lying but she seemed pretty upset about it, so asking her was out of the question. instead i just slid my hand into her's intertwining them together, she looked up at me.

"and what is this?" she smiled.

"nothing special just holding your hand."

"we're holding hands for the first time and this isn't special to you? wow." she gasped, i couldn't tell if she was joking or not so i just tried to fix my mistake.

"oh no of course holding your hand is special, especially since it fits into mine so perfectly." i held our hands up.

"you are too adorable." she stopped walking and stood on her toes so we could be around the same height. she stared at my eyes then my lips. did she want to kiss me? i leaned in a little closer.

"hm?" she looked back at my eyes. "nope." she pressed her finger on my lips and backed away from me before she started walking again. "aren't you coming?"

"what just happened!" i was still confused, i mean can you blame me. there she was looking like she was about to kiss me then all of a sudden she leaves. katie you are complicated.

"dang it!" she ignored my question. "we missed the train. oh well, what do you want to do now?" she walks back to me.

"you know what i'd like?"

"what?"

"a kiss." it is what i've been expected two times already today, i deserve an actual kiss.

"sure dreamboat." she went up again and this time held my face.

"wait your serious?" i blinked.

"shh don't talk." she leaned in closer. i can't believe this is happening. she closed her eyes, now she's almost a centimeter away. i looked down at her lips, ok so this is really happening.

"katie?!" a voice screeched from behind and katie opened her eyes and pulled away. the world just hates me today huh?

"shit." she whispered quite loudly actually. she let loose of my hand that she was apparently holding and walked up to the person that called her, scratching her neck.

"hey matt, what's up?" she said nervously.

"don't hey matt me. what were you and lance doing?"

"i was just..... counting the.... freckles on his face. yeah that's it!"

"and you got carried away?"

"see you already know the whole story." she started to back up.

"i thought we established no boyfriends."

"we're not dating. just hanging out as friends."

"sure and does lance have a say in this?" he turned to me, one hand on his hip.

"this seems more like a sibling thing." i raised my hands up in defense. he only gave me a glare.

"go home." he turned back to katie.

"why." she flashed back at him.

"cause i just told you to, now go." he stated. "i'm off to shiro's house."

"i can't stand you sometimes matthew!" she growled. "lance, your walking me home!" she grabbed my arm before stomping away, matt only rolled his eyes. once we passed him, he said towards me " your welcome." then winked. these holt siblings are a confusing bunch.

the walk to her house was silent, that's very unlike her. i checked my phone, only 4 o'clock. what was i going to do once she left?

"we're here." she mumbled. i stared up at her house, it was a light yellow that didn't really pop out.

"oh, well i guess-."

"wanna hang out?" she cut me off.

"in your room?!"

"well don't make it so awkward." she crossed her arms looking to the side.

"sure. what will we do?" i asked and she shrugged in response. she got her key out and unlocked the door.

"i don't know, maybe we can do what you wanted to do." she smiled and entered the house. what did i want to do?! she looked back at me. "you coming?" and i nodded entering her house.

"what did i want to do exactly again?" i chuckled nervously, hopefully i didn't piss her off. she grabbed my wrist and pulled me down.

"i thought you wanted a kiss." she whispered in my ear.

oh boy, i was in for something.
