Epilogue

Jungkook shovelled the last spoonful of soup into his mouth happily as Taehyung watched with a small smile.

The younger swallowed, "it's good! I didn't know you could actually cook."

"Did I not cook for you back at the cabin?" Taehyung asked, standing up from his chair and picking up the plates from the table.

Jungkook followed Taehyung to the sink. "The only thing we ate during those two weeks together was cereal. Because you decided to kill the best cook."

Taehyung chuckled, putting the dishes away in their cabinets. "You know what they say revenge kills the cook."

"I'm pretty sure the first and second word of that saying is supposed to have the same beginning letter baby." Jungkook said as he leaned against the counter.

"Well I'm a man of death, not words. As you might have figured out already." They both laughed before Taehyung stopped abruptly, resting his hands on the kitchen sink.

Jungkook looked up at him. "Is everything alright?"

Taehyung turned to the younger, placing his hands on his face and grazing his fingers across Jungkook's cheeks. "You know I love YOU right?"

Jungkook smiled, but a slightly confused look spread through his eyes. "Of course I do, I love you too Taehyung. With my whole heart."

Taehyung nodded, hugging Jungkook tight to his chest. "I just wanted to make sure you know-no matter what happens- I love you, so so much."

Jungkook nodded, placing a kiss on Taehyung's forehead before he felt his eyes get slightly droopy. He yawned, and Taehyung stared with glossy eyes.

"Why am I so tired?" Jungkook asked, "it's only about-what- 7pm?"

"Why don't you go sit while I make dinner?"

Jungkook sat on the couch, tuning into the news channel completely. Barely even noticing Taehyung slowly walking towards the restroom.

Taehyung worked away at the food he was preparing. If this had all worked out differently maybe he and Jungkook would be alive long enough to actually have a future together. But Taehyung knew by now-with the current circumstances- that it would be too good to be true. He stirred the stew slowly, his eyes glossed over in tears as he slowly began to drop the liquid sleeping medicine into the sweetened soup.

Turning off the burner, Taehyung poured the toxic substance into two separate bowls. Making sure each bowl had a precise amount.

"Baby!" Taehyung called out, wiping his eyes and guzzling a glass of water to clear the heartache from his throat.

"Coming!" Jungkook said as he walked towards the kitchen, giving Taehyung a kiss on the cheek. "Hopefully this won't kill me or anything, this better be good!"

He joked playfully and Taehyung just sat quietly, digging into his last dinner with Jungkook.

His last dinner ever.

With his last bit of energy, he carried Jungkook to their couch. Laying beside him and brushing a hair back from the younger's forehead.

Taehyung sighed, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. It's all over now. Soon they can just start over.

"T-Tae?" Jungkook stuttered, although he desperately wanted to fall asleep- he tried his best to stay awake. He didn't know what was happening, why he was so tired, and why Taehyung didn't seemed concerned at all.

Taehyung watched as the younger's eyelids fluttered. His eyes rolling back behind his head only to roll back in an attempt to stay awake.

"Shhh." Taehyung whispered, raking his hand through Jungkook's hair. Slowly losing himself into the feeling. "It's okay darling, it'll be over soon and maybe one day-" Taehyung could feel himself slipping in and out of consciousness. "Maybe one da-y. We can see each other-r again. In a better world-d than this."

He listened closely as Jungkook's breathing began to slow. And soon enough he heard almost nothing at all. Taheyung smiled softly, pulling Jungkook closely before letting go of himself completely.

And just then, it was as if life had never began. The breathing, blinking, laughing that filled the room hours before had ceased to exist in that very moment. What was left was two hollow shells of what two young men used to be. Their souls gone and it was almost like they had never been in the first place.

A knock on the door echoed through the lifeless room and the brightness from red and blue lights peered through the window violently in a blinking fashion.

"Attention! This is the Seoul Police Department! Open up now!"
