Jungkook and Taehyung had gotten closer as the days went by. Although Jungkook was quite cautious around the boy because of his severely outgoing behaviour, he had great times with him.
It had been five days since Taehyung had befriended Jungkook, and until now- things had been going quite smoothly. Both of the boys were having a good time.
The walked into the school, heading out to the lockers before classes start. They had a system. The two boys would always try to see who would get their things away in their lockers first. So far, Taehyung had always won.
It was almost as if he just teleported his coats into his locker.
But that was obviously not what was happening.
"I bet I'll beat you again." Taehyung teased, wrapping his arms around Jungkook's waist.
He noticed some of the students around them were staring, but Jungkook thought nothing of it. 'It must be because Tae looks so bright today.'
"You always beat me anyway, I don't see the point of challenging it."
Taehyung giggled, pulling Jungkook tighter towards him. Which Jungkook didn't mind all that much, he quite used to Taehyung's physical affections after the first couple of days.
"You mean you don't even wanna try and beat me at all?" Taehyung said, unlatching himself from the younger boy.
"I didn't say that..." Jungkook mumbled, he takes competition very seriously. In all honesty, he was slightly frustrated by the fact that Taehyung always beats him. But it was out of his control.
He wasn't going to put things in his locker today, instead, he'd follow Taehyung to his locker and see for himself why the older was always winning.
It was a good plan if he said so himself, so after Taehyung dropped Jungkook off at his locker, he raced towards his. Jungkook waited until he was around the corner to follow him.
Jungkook waddled around the corner slowly, seeing Taehyung opening his locker. As the front of the door opened to face him. He noticed there was some sort of writing on it.
Jungkook scooted a bit closer without Taehyung noticing him, as the words got clearer. He could almost hear small sniffles coming from the other side of the door.
On the blue locker door in black ink, the words "gay" and "homo" were repeated all over the once clean locker. Jungkook stood up, a confused look on his face. He gathered up the courage to walk to Taehyung's locker, hiding behind the door.
Taehyung retrieved his books and closed the door, dropping them at the sight on a figure directly behind it.
"Oh!... My God!" Taehyung shouted, picking up his books quickly from the floor. He was trying to hide his face. "You scared me kookie!"
Jungkook shook his head, "What are these words on your locker hyung?"
Taehyung stood up, wiping his sleeve against his nose. "I'm not sure what they mean."
A surprised expression grazed Jungkook's face as he started back at his hyung, watching the small tears running down his face. "You don't know?"
This time, Taehyung shook his head. "No, my mom said these words mean happy. But why would people make fun of me for being happy?"
Jungkook shrugged, he didn't know what those words meant either. "I don't know hyung. Let's just go to class okay?"
Taehyung nodded and went into the classroom. Jungkook turning down the hallway to put his things in his locker.
"I guess he's just naturally faster than me," Jungkook said to himself, slowly putting in his locker combination.
Taehyung sat in his seat, there weren't many people in class already. It wasn't meant to start until 10 minutes later. He put his head in his arms and closed his eyes, he needed a nap.
Just as Taehyung was about to fall asleep, a hand slammed down on his desk, waking him up with a shocking jolt.
"I'm sorry teacher, I won't fall asleep agai-" He finally looked up, and it wasn't his beloved teacher he was met with.
"What's up Little Tae?" The boy said maliciously, a smirk was spread across his face and it made Taehyung immensely uncomfortable.
"Jimin-hyung..." Taehyung mumbled, staring down at his fingers in his lap.
Where was Jungkook?
Sure he wasn't as strong as the rest of the class, but Taehyung felt a lot safer with the younger there. It wasn't his presence but rather his aura that made Taehyung feel safer.
"You know, a homo like you shouldn't be hanging around with other boys," Jimin said, staring down into the boy's now glossy eyes.
And all of a sudden, Taehyung felt that being a "gay" or "homo" wasn't a good thing anymore.
Jimin and Taehyung used to be friends, they had been really close since Taehyung had transferred to the school. But after about a year of being friends, Taehyung felt... different around him. He began to spend time with Jimin way more than he used too, and I guess you could say that he liked Jimin a lot. Almost too much.
Jimin had always seemed just as happy around Taehyung as well, so Tae didn't even think twice about telling him.
So he did.
But Jimin didn't take it too well.
He got mad at Tae and argued with him over the fact of his new feelings. Taehyung thought they were friends, that they had nothing to hide from each other. That after all was their promise to each other.
But now looking back at it, Taehyung now feels that some promises are meant to be broken.
"Just face it, stupid. No one likes you, and neither does Jungkook." Jimin said, turning around and walking out of the class. Not even letting Taehyung speak for himself.
He didn't like Jungkook like that... did he?
Jungkook closed his locker, balancing his three books in one hand while trying to keep his locker shut. He wasn't the cleanest when it came to his lockers and that definitely never changed, no matter what school he went to.
He walked down the hallway, passing by the familiar posters and programs on the walls of his new school. Jungkook wasn't as nervous as he was before, but he still didn't have enough room in his body to talk to any more people.
He just didn't have the courage.
As Jungkook approached his classroom, he saw another student walk out. Jungkook recognized him as a boy from his class. Jimin maybe? He only knew because the boy would always get in trouble in class.
"Jeon Jungkook!" Jimin called, walking towards him. His hand slipped out of his pockets and grabbed the other boy's shoulders.
Jungkook's eyes widened at the sudden contact. He was so used to Taehyung touching him all the time that he forgot that other people were capable of it too.
"Um, hello hyung." Jungkook stammered, he wasn't used to this enough. Though he liked the feeling of people talking to him.
Jimin smiled, "How about we spend our lunch together? I can bring my friends and introduce you. We'll all have a lot of fun!"
Jungkook thought for a little, usually, he would spend his lunch with Taehyung. But he wouldn't mind if Jungkook spent his lunch with Jimin right? And this was a chance for him to make new friends as well.
Taehyung should be fine. It's only one lunch.
Jungkook nodded, smiling lightly, "Sure hyung. I'll see you at lunch."
Jimin smirked, "See you at lunch."
